What an amazing, beautiful place. We loved waking up to the views of the lake every morning. It was the perfect venue for us to stay as we did our first Ironman! Hate to have to leave, hope to be back one day. For now, we have many memories. With love, Linda, Ricci, Heather, Nicki, Senal - Fort Worth. Stacy and Patti - Colorado. Peter and Vanci - Palo Alto. This was our "home base" on race day.

We have stayed at this home for the last 2 years and are already reserved for 2011. We meet immediate family here each year and bring our kids and have a mini reunion. There are so many things that we love about this house that it is hard to name them all but here are some key things: The backyard is fenced and has a locking gate so all toddlers can play out there for hours while we eat and relax. The beach is directly across a non-busy street and the house comes equipped with all the beach toys you could want. Also, the hose and small shower outside are very nice to clean off. The formal dining room has closing doors on all sides so we are able to actually turn this into a mini computer room if any work needs to be done. There are a ton of chairs and couches and a great setting for family games at night. There is a piano which the older kids love. There is a basement kids room with Wii and all kinds of games for both genders and all ages. The floor is a cement floor so any cleaning up is very easy. There is a laundryroom equipped with laundry soap so we were able to keep up on that all week very easily. The views are amazing from many areas of the house. The house is also noise friendly so if some are up early in the morning, the upstairs is closed off so others can still sleep. The house also comes with things like garbage bags, paper towels, etc. which is nice not to have to bring. The neighbors are friendly and helpful. The city park is about 3 houses to the left and includes a walk around track and great play area and basketball courts and live bands periodically through the summer. Also, everything is walking distance pretty much in town. We store our boat the Coeur d'Alene Resort and it is about a 10 minute walk at most and we can practically see it from the house. We highly recommend this house to any type of renters. The Schmidt Family
Owner response:Thank you very much for the kind review. We are happy to see the Schmidts back each year and take particular pleasure in being able to provide enjoyment for all ages and family combinations. Thanks again.

Mr.and Mrs Gumprecht, Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your beautiful home. We took our son, and five of his friends, for their 8th grade graduation. The kids had so much fun and they loved the park. It was wonderful to be in walking distance to everything. One afternoon, I just sat on your front steps, and soaked in the amazing view. An older couple came by and told me what a beautiful house it was - I totally agreed with them. We hope to come back next year. The only thing that could have made it better...was the weather. It was about 65, but the sun was shining. Happy Summer, The Taylors. Guests on June 13-16

House was immaculate. Well stocked. Wonderful linens. So comfortable. Enjoyed sitting out front & just soaking in the view. Parking was difficult. Could use an elevator up to 3rd floor. Packing luggage up to 3rd floor a bit tedious. Admired the fine finishing touches in the house and the attention to detail. The family remarked several times, what a good idea it was to rent this home for all of us. We just felt so comfortable in it. A pleasant weekend for all of us. Friends who visited us thought perhaps the house was so comfortable they may want to rent it sometime!
Owner response:Thanks for the nice review. Since 2009 we have made improvements in the parking. By moving the garage 6 feet closer to the house (6 feet further away from the alleyway) the angles required to reach the 6 parking spots are much easier to negotiate. The back fence is also on gate hinges such that the yard itself could be used for special items such as a trailer. I'm not sure where an elevator to the third floor would fit, but the view should be worth any extra effort required to enjoy it. Regards, Don Gumprecht

We thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving getaway at this elegant turn of the century tastefully restored lakeside manor. It has panoramic views down the northern reach of Couer d'Alene lake from nearly every room in the house including the two spacious glass enclosed front sitting rooms and the living room and third floor master bedroom. It has it's own private grass and sandy beach yet is within one block of the beautifully treed city park and 3 blocks from the CDA destination resort, and downtown CDA with its excellent restaurants, individual shops, and shopping malls. This home can be as formal or as practical as one wants. It is great for both adults who seek a quiet romantic getaway or a family with children looking for both indoor fun in the huge gameroom complete with bigscreen TV and video games and the multiple outdoor activities immediately available on the property and its private beach as well as the nearby beautiful city beach and its tree covered walkways.. We found this home clean, fully equipped and lacking nothing to make our stay trouble free and completely enjoyable. We highly recommend it for couples, groups of adults, or families. Whatever you want to get out of your North Idaho vacation experience is there for you in a truly remarkable setting.and beautiful beachfront manor.
Owner response:Thanks for the kind words.

I would like to commend the owners of the Gumprecht property for the delightful stay in this charming and spacious vacation home. I have been fortunate to travel to many countries and many destinations within this country and yet found this area, home and the ambience outstanding. The ease of getting to the property is a gift. Arriving at the Spokane airport, we rented a car and enjoyed a short but picturesque drive to the jewel that is Coeur d'Alene. Lake Coeur d'Alene glistens in the sunlight; the home is beautifully appointed with every comfort and amenity one could desire. The home is spacious and flows from one charming room to another all with a view of the beautiful lake and charming neighorhood. The bedrooms are nicely done all with special features. All one has to do is walk a few feet from the home and you are on the beach and wiggling your toes in the soft sand. Each morning and evening as we started and ended our day we gathered in the sitting rooms for coffee, a glass of wine and lively conversation. The history of the area is colorful and charming; we wanted to see everything and wished we had more time. A convenient visitor center beyond the park and a short walk from the property provided information and suggestions on hiking, biking, gondola rides up the mountain, golfing, restaurants, plane and boat rides, street festivals, jazz, plays and nearby historic areas. We hiked up Tubbs Hill, taking pictures and enjoying the scenery. The beautiful Coeur d'Alene resort is only a five minute walk from the property; the resort golf course is famous as it offers the only floating green in the country. What a challenge-it is hard enough to hit one that stays still! Each place we visited resulted in a vow to come back. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the famous Hudson's Hamburger's. I ordered two my first visit, I could have eaten three and I went back again while I was there. Quite honestly, I could have gone there everyday. They were everything our host said they would be. The home is equipped with a game room which offers a variety of games and activities for kids of all ages. The most wonderful thing I can say about the Gumprecht home is the comfort and warmth it wraps around you while you are there. It feels like home with every need anticipated. I loved the home, the area and find myself returning to it in my mind while a smile on my face. I loved it. I would love to return. Donna

Hi Don, we just got back home this evening and I wanted to let you know that we enjoyed staying at your wonderful home. Everyone agreed, it was the best accommodations we could ever ask for, and I trust Roni reports back that we left the house as we found it...perfect! The location was fantastic and the house was very comfortable for our large family. We did make it to Hudson's and enjoyed lunch in the park. I had printed your email and we took turns reading it as we walked downtown. The kids spent many hours playing the video games, so thanks for setting up the Wii and XBOX. Personally, I really enjoyed riding the bikes around town. We had the pleasure of meeting your neighbor along with her family. They set us up with a few additional bikes so the kids and I were able to ride to Tubbs Hill and jump off the rocks into the lake. We walked to the Resort several times this week which made it easy to meet up with family who were staying at the hotel. Activities included para-sailing, kayaking, wave runners, boating, sea plane tours, golf at the Resort Course (nicest course I have ever played), and we made the trip to Silverwood for a day at the amusement park. Beach activities were also a favorite activity. A great big thank you for stocking the house with games, music, movies, toys, and supplies. We did BBQ a few meals this week. I really appreciate you having the propane, charcoal, and bbq tools ready to go for a turn-key event. We also had the added bonus of being in town while Art on the Green was going on this weekend! Attached are a couple of photos of the our family enjoying our time up in Coeur d'Alene. Let's talk about availability for next year same week..this time we want to stay longer. Regards, Steve
