The "Barrel House" sits on a very private 4-acre space that is adjacent to Federal and State Park, and through which run two streams. There is absolutely no more spectacular view available than the panoramic views from every room, and the deck, of the "Barrel House". You can see the world, from Stinson Beach/Bolinas to Point Reyes, while no one can see you. The sun bathing on the spacious deck, and the hot tub, are very private and tranquil. Yet, you can walk to the beach in 10 minutes, or be on the Dipsea Trail in less than 5. This house sits before you get into downtown Stinson Beach so that, on busy holiday weekends, you arrive to the property before any traffic jams begin. Other things to do:
1. Go to The Beach: Stinson Beach is three plus miles of sand, plenty of room for sunbathing. Lifeguards are on duty May through October only. 2. Visit the Point Reyes National Seashore: Hike on the more than 70 miles of trails or visit the light house that sits high on a Point Reyes cliff, built in 1870. Watch the whales at this popular location as the pass through on their way north (January through March). 3. Watch the birds: Stop anywhere along the Bolinas Lagoon, a wildlife preserve and watch the great egrets and blue herons that nest there each spring. It is also a great spot to check out the harbor seals sunning themselves. 4. Hike Mount Tamalpais: Enjoy the view from the ridge of this mountain overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and the spectacular sights of San Francisco on a clear night. There are hundreds of trails to pick from. 5. Amble through a redwood grove: Head to Muir Woods(15 minutes away) and spend the day walking among the 560 acres of coastal redwoods some are more than 500 years old.
Drink wine with friends on your deck and impress everyone with the one of a kind view. |
