We really enjoyed our 4-day stay in this rental apt in mid Aug. The first impression was it was super clean, with pleasant surprises such as complimentary wine, flowers, drawings matching the environ... We enjoyed relaxing in the hottub with fresh air, and sitting on the deck with the lakeview just being lazy. The high tech massage shower was soothing too, esp. after day trips to near by wineries, Sandusky shopping & touring attractions. In sum, we had a great time there - kudos to owners Carol & John for this lovely place.

We truly enjoyed our weekend. We loved the deck at all times of the day and evening. We greatly appreciated the personal touches that you would never find at an area hotel, such as the wine, fresh flowers, and extra pillows. The size was just right for our family of 4, especially given that the deck adds lovely outdoor space and that many Lake Erie activities are so close by. The kitchenette was just the right size for fixing breakfast and stowing away snacks, drinks, and food we prepared at home and brought along. We greatly appreciated the extra disposable dishes/flatwear so we could head outside and not have to plan ahead. This property was very clean and well-maintained.

My family and I visited Huron for a family reunion and stayed at this amazing place. We had asked John and Carol if we could have a party in the backyard. They were very accommodating and for an additional fee we had about 20 of our family members enjoying a beautiful day on the lake. The kids swam in the lake and the adults relaxed in the hot tub! We used the grill and cooked more food than was needed! Everyone was blown away by the location and the house! Once everyone left for the evening we were amazed at the facilities inside the room. The bathroom is simply stunning! They have an enclosed shower with steam and all sorts of things i have never seen before. It was awesome! Once we got the kids to bed I laid down on the bed to wait for my wife to get out of the shower and woke up 8 hours later. The bed is the most amazing thing I have ever slept on in my life. I would love to know what it is! We had such an amazing weekend and could not have had a better stay anywhere! Thank you so much John and Carol we will be back as often as we can!

Weekend started off a little rocky. We "thought" the 4 digit code was not activated on the door. We called and called John and Carol and did not get a response right away. The entrance instructions state to enter through the door to the right of the house (the East door), however, the door you should enter is through the left (or West) side of the house. Figured this out after about an hour of sitting in our car on the street. The West door looks as if it could have been a completely separate apartment, so I didn't want to try to enter through it until it was a last resort. But, it ended up being the correct door through which to gain access. Owners eventually called within a couple hours of our initial phone call. So, with that out of the way, the weekend was fabulous. I could sit on that deck for hours and hours staring at the water. The hot tub was very nice, although the temperature seemed to decrease as the weekend went on. I set it to 101 degrees and it would flash 101, but it just kept declining. Again, called the owners and did not get a response. I'm honestly not even sure they got the message though because our cell phones were both very spotty with coverage. John and Carol are very good about "leaving the tenants alone". They are basically invisible while you're there. Ran into them once and they were very nice. I would definitely recommmend this apartment to anyone for a romantic getaway weekend. I wouldn't advise going if you have more than 2 kids though, because it is fairly small. Not really meant for a large family. Thanks John and Carol for the great weekend. We'll definitely be back.
Owner response:Glad most of your stay was fabulous! The entrance instructions are to park on the concrete drive and enter the door to the right! This has never happened before that someone went to the other entrance, so this certainly was a surprise, but one that I will make sure that I am clearer on in the future! The hottub does decline in temperature if it is "adjusted" without knowing how to hold in the temp button while adjusting, but thanks! I will put a note in the apartment on what buttons to push and not to push! Hottubs have butttons that put them to "sleep" if pushed wrong... And I'm so sorry about the phone calls! My phone shows 42 minutes from the first call, and again, I apologized; was on the back of a Harley and I sure don't answer phones then! Never got any other calls! Phone reception isn't that great here unless it is Verizon. And! Even though the apartment is 1300 square feet, we don't ALLOW more than 4 people here! that is clear in the way that I have the listing set, so there have been many requests, but I turn down ANY requests for more than 4 people! But! I'm glad with all of the concerns that you want to come back! We will take all of your great suggestions and make it better because of them! Carol and John

Carol and John made our stay great and relaxing. We stayed over a long 4 day weekend and everything was perfect. From the fishing off the dock clear down to the 21st century shower in the bathroom. I cant say enough about the hospitality we were shown. Thanks again for everything, (especially freezing our perch!). We look forward to coming back again next year and walking down to the Brass Pelican for a few cold ones! We highly reccomend staying at this property, you wont be disapointed.

We were totally happy with our stay here. Everything was exactly as presented in the listing and Carol and John couldn't possibly have been more welcoming or accommodating. There is no cooktop or oven, with the philosophy of "hoidays are for fun...not cooking!" So if you can't tear yourself away from a hot stove, think twice. Otherwise.... Comfy bed, loads of fluffy towels, safe driveway for the car right outside the door, perfectly clean and very convenient for touring the area. We were encouraged to enjoy the hot tub, which we did beneath the stars. Thanks a million for the memories. We hope to return.

My family and I have returned to Huron to stay at this lovely little place. My kids absolutley love the deck and the beach! We went fishing of the pier and swimming every day. There is also a cool little park just up the street where we spent a lot of time as well. We also loved the hot tub. We really enjoyed watching a few storms roll in off the lake in the evening. As far as the room goes, I have offered to buy the bed, it's the most comfortable thing I have ever slept on. I will come back just to sleep in that bed. Thanks again.

My family stayed here for a week and we had a fantastic time! The lake and deck at the house are just great and the back yard is so peaceful and restfull! We came on vacation to "get away" and that we did! I enjoyed the owners; very helpful and pleasant people who made our stay even nicer. We had a great time doing all of the vacation fun things and enjoyed all of the restaurants and things close by. We will definitely try and stay there again! Thanks so much for a great time!
