My large family, including our dog, experienced the pleasure of staying at Highland Manor last Christmas. We found it meticulously clean and beautifully furnished; this is definitely an owner who wishes his guests to feel very well taken care of. There was an ample and attractive supply of linens and towels so that we never ran out, and the kitchen was set up for several food preparers to work together, and was also generously and beautifully equipped for a large group. Both the pool table and swimming pool/hot tub were a hit for all ages, as was the giant TV. We could shop easily, as the Safeway was just a few minutes drive, or take a hike out at Armstrong Grove. I would recommend Highland Manor as a most lovely and comfortable place of renewal for your family occasions, whatever the time of year. Frances

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay at Highland Manor. The prompt and clear communication before/after our stay was professional and always helpful. The owners were very kind and left a bottle of wine greeting us at the house with a sweet note. When the hot tub wasn't working (probably due to our inability to press the right buttons) the owner was very helpful in walking us through the steps--nice indeed given it was Thanksgiving day when I called! He then called back the next day to check in on us. Awesome. The house! Incredible!!! The rooms were all charming, clean, comfortable and big! We had a full house and everyone had enough space. Our group of friends has been celebrating Thanksgiving together since our early twenties and now, 10 years later we had a very special holiday in Guerneville. The kitchen was big enough to put on a huge feast and the bunk room was "adult" enough for people to comfortably share the room. I would absolutely recommend this house and hope we can stay again in the future.

I took my time to write this considering the stay that my family had at Highland Mannor house. Without a doubt the house was spotless and stocked with everything that was needed to cook and so forth. I normally don't like to go on family outs. But I can say that this was well worth it. The pool and hot tub and pool table was far my best enjoyment. It's hard to describe how peaceful the house is. And at night how you can feel so calm and at ease. I'd also have say whoever owns the house or company seems to care about the place. Not just for having a great house but the fact that during the families stay there was a electric problem at the house. And a call was placed and within 1 hr a service guy showed up. And not only did he fix the issue he made sure everything else was ok and asked if he could be of any help while he was waiting to make sure there were no more issues. I really have to say. I have had repair men come to my house and it always seemed like a pain. But when this happened it was a pleasure to have someone who was quick and very nice. And to know if there's a issue and he took care of it so quick was a delight. On one note. The electric problem was not due to the house. We had slot of things plugged in the same area. Kinda of our fault. So to the owners Job WELL DONE and to the lovely service guy (Mark or Mike) < bad memory but it was Mark or Mike. Thank you for such great work and being kind. I really wish more people were as nice and promet as you were. This alone shows how wonderful this house is. Great people. Great house. And a really good time with my family that I haven't had in a long time. This will soon become my other home in a few years when my kids grow up! I really hope it's still owned and maintained by wonderful people! God bless

A Wonderful Weekend Getaway

Our group enjoyed a relaxing weekend at this house and recommend it highly. It was very clean, the grounds are beautiful and the overall ambience is very charming and welcoming. The house is also located in a prime spot close to downtown Guerneville, though we never ended up leaving the property because we wanted to get as much out of the house as possible. We can't wait to go back.

The house itself is very nice but the highlight for us was definitely the outdoor area. There's a big back deck with a pool and hot tub. It wasn't sunny the weekend we were there but we still had a great time hanging out in the back area. The pool is shallow but would be great on a hot day. The front yard is also really nice and we used it to play croquet and washers. For those who like to cook, the kitchen is roomy and seems quite nice. I only say "seems" since I'm not an expert in such things. Overall, we enjoyed our weekend and we'd definitely come back.

The house was great. We had everything we needed. The only draw back was getting hasseled about how much noise we were going to create, even before we arrived. The house sleeps 18, there is a pool outside..some extra noise probably will be happening. We were even told that we couldn't have a radio by the pool. I had to be the inforcer the entire time,on my vacation, to keep noise down so the owners wouldn't loose their licence to rent in the area.
Owner response:I am sorry the guest felt so restricted by our request in this tranquil area. The county is initiating a very strict ordinance that does not allow any amplified music outdoors - even a radio. Normal visiting and conversing and enjoying one-selves is fine; loud, rowdy partying late into the night can disturb the area. This is what we had requested the guests not to do.
