  Accommodations - 10/10 Views - 10/10 Landlord - 10/10 We live on the ocean but we have for many years always enjoyed a week in the NH lake region. This year was no different. Welch Island is the supreme getaway from the hectic, crazy life. A place to enjoy the beauty of nature as well as your loved ones!

  Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

  We had an amazing time at this house! The owners were very friendly and accomodating. This is a great rental home for families, there is a walk out area to access the water and the swim raft with water slide was a favorite for the kids! There is also a boat house with large deck on top that is perfect for relaxing,meals, safe for kids and a great spot to watch fireworks from across the lake:) We were able to fit our 25 ft boat no problem. Thank you for a great stay!

  In the summer of 2009 our entire family and a few friends had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful island retreat! To say we had a fabulous time would be an understatement. This Island Oasis had everything we could have wanted. Even when the weather was not ideal, we enjoyed relaxing with a good book. We are residents of Gilford and have a boat on Lake Winnipesaukee. It was so great being so close to home but feeling like we were away in another State. No long drive with the kids, the ability to have them have their friends over and the owners were very gracious and put up with us, even though as a large family we can be a little noisy. The listing is very thorough and the photos reflect this property accurately. The property was very clean and the deck had just be updated. The owner was very helpful and could be reached at any time. I certainly would recommend this property to our friends and family. The beauty of the Lakes Region is that there are many things to do during your stay. We enjoy events at Gunstock Recreation Area, the Fireworks on the lake on the 4th of July, the many restaurants to venture to by boat, such as The Lakehouse, Lagos and Town Docks in Meredith, the Canoe in Center Harbor (just call from your boat at the Town Docks and they will send a car for you), Garwoods and the restaurant at the Town Docks in Wolfeboro and Shibleys is a great spot for lunch in Alton. There are many other restaurants to recommend by car but we certainly love TBones/Cactus Jacks in Laconia if you do have a car to use. Hiking in the summer at the nearby moutains is great, Mount Major is just a few minutes away from the Glendale Docks. This Island Property is situated in a wonderful spot on the lake where you get to watch the Mount Washington pass by several times a day but you can also water ski, tube etc. easily on this part of the lake. We hope to return soon to this fabulous spot!
