Family-friendly, comfortable house located in the beautiful high-Sierra forests. Set on a quiet street and surrounded by pine, fir and cedar trees, our house is a mountain haven, far enough from the congestion of down-town South Lake Tahoe but close enough to beaches, swimming, skiing, dining and shopping to be convenient.
The house itself is spacious. Downstairs is a great room, with dining room and fireplace to one side and living room and wood-burning stove to the other. Sit at the counter in the dining area and visit with the cook. Also on this floor are a bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a full bathroom and a laundry room. Upstairs is a large bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a TV/VCR and room for a portable crib. The dormitory room has three twin beds, and the "nook", a small room under the eaves, has two twin beds. Throughout the house the walls are paneled in knotty pine, giving each room a warm glow and mountain cabin feeling.
In the front of the house is a low platform deck that looks across the street at national forest; in the back is a railed deck with table, chairs and umbrella. Sit at either and listen to the wind move through the pines, or watch the ground squirrels dart and scamper.
We offer a small library of paperback books, including mystery, romance, natural history, spy/thriller and some children's books.
