This 2 year old Cabin has great lodge-style design and decor. It sits on two acre's of wooded property and is secluded but with easy access. While sitting on the very large deck you will enjoy long range views of the Nantahala and Smoky Mountains plus the beautiful Hiawasse River running below. Listen to the water flowing in the river below and the birds singing in the trees while you enjoy the spectacular sunsets over the mountains in the distance.
In the living room and dining area the entire wall is glass and the open ceiling spans 25 feet high so you can experience the magnificent view from inside as well as out on the deck. Also,on the ground floor there is a bedroom, bath, and laundry room.
Above the kitchen is a small loft area with a loveseat where you can relax with a good book or just bask in the view. The master bedroom and bath are upstairs with the loft and it has french doors that open onto a balcony which overlooks the surrounding woods. Direct TV is provided for the master bedroom as well as the living room for your enjoyment.
This cabin is located 9 miles East of Murphy,NC, 10 miles from Hiawasse, GA., and only 2 hours from Atlanta, Chattanooga, Ashville, and Knoxville. Lake Chatuge is minutes away, white water rafting is available on the Nantahala River and there are many beautiful water falls in the area. Hiking, horseback riding, and fishing are enjoyed throughout the region.

Why the Owner Chose Hayesville
Our son recommended the area to us. During our first visit we fell in love and purchased the property that the cabin is on today. The cabin is centrally located between Atlanta,Chattanooga,Knoxville,and Ashville so has great accessibility to many visitors.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
The awesome long range mountain view from our deck is the best available in all of Clay County as stated by the locals. We also offer a wonderful view of the Hiawassee River that runs along the property. While sitting on the deck you can enjoy the sun setting over the mountains, listen to the river rushing by below, and the birds singing in the trees. If you are looking for a place for relaxation then our cabin is right for you.
White water rafting is available here and his about 45 minute drive from the cabin.
A great place for a day of shopping. There are many water falls in the area too.
Lots of shopping here plus a casino, museum, and a wonderful waterfall.

WE are both retired and enjoy visiting the mountains of North Carolina to escape the heat and humidity of Florida in the summer. My husband likes fly fishing and we both love visiting the many beautiful waterfalls in the area.

We enjoyed our memorable stay at Hibernation Ridge over the Labor Day weekend. The cabin is an architectural gem with a comfortable floor plan, quality decor and an amazing view of the Appalachian Mountains and Hiawassee river. The location provided a serene and peaceful escape from the city. If you like to explore, there are a number of sights and towns within a short drive from the cabin.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful views of the Hiawassee River bend below and the sun setting over the Smokies each afternoon. We were even treated to lightening storm one evening. The cabin could not be better situated to make it a perfect retreat. It is close to the river below, Lake Chatuge and near enough to Asheville to visit Biltmore in a day. The condition of the cabin is great with up to date appointments and appliances. We would strongly recommend it!
