Charming one bedroom small cottage with Hood River Valley and Mt. Hood view in the heart of downtown White Salmon. 5 minute drive to Hood River. Walk to White Salmon downtown for coffee, restaurants and shopping. Enjoy the Mt. Hood views from the kitchen, dining area and the entertainment size deck. Deck also has peek-a-boo views of the Columbia river.

Remodeled and fully equipped & stocked kitchen. Newly & tastefully painted and hardwood floors throughout the house. One large bedroom with a queen bed and a futon in the living room. Perfect for a single, a couple or a small family.

For windsurfers and kite sailors, we are 5 minutes drive to the Hatchery and 15 minutes to Doug's Beach without crossing the bridge. For kayakers and river enthusiasts, White Salmon river is a short 15 minute drive. Skiing and snowboarding is 45 minutes away to Mt. Hood Resorts. World class hiking and Mt. biking trails are minutes away as well as numerous wineries and art galleries.

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2003

We are a family of 4 and love the Gorge. We love to windsurf, bike, hike, ski or just hang out at the cottage with our kids. Our two young girls love the Gorge and the cottage.

Why the Owner Chose Hood River

We bought the property for us to use when we go down to the Gorge to windsurf. We like the location since it's close to our favorite windsurfing spots, the Hatchery and Doug's Beach. We also like the laid-back small town feel of White Salmon.
Once we had two kids, our trip to the Gorge was not as frequent, and so we decided to do the vacation rental.

The Unique Benefits of this Cottage

It's quiet and private with a wonderful Mt. Hood view from the front of the house/deck. It's also very cozy and comfortable and has fully equipped kitchen. We love staying at our cottage, and our kids love the swing on the yard as well as the tree house. Oh, from our cherry tree on the yard, we get tons of cherries each year that our guests can eat and take home as much as they can.

Thank you so much for the hospitality! We enjoyed the few days here and loved the serenity. Found some great spots in Hood River. Ate at Celilo (it was perfect). Double Mountain Brewery has great beer and a fun local scene, walked through all cities (Bingen, White Salmon, & Hood River) and enjoyed it. Thanks so much! Dan & Kat

Fabulous spot. Terrific view of Mt. Hood from the deck. We had great weater and took in much of the area, i.e. Maryhill & the winery, Mosier tunnels by bike. Thanks, Mort & Judy

Enjoyed your little cottage - cleverly decorated. It was nice to have our own space instead of some large hotel. Weather was perfect - Mt. biking was awesome, as always! Hint: when riding Syncline, don't ride up Coyote (see bike shop first) Thanks for having us, Lis, David & Scout

A Cozy location with a beautiful view - we enjoyed our family reunion in Lyle, our visit to Seattle, and our excursions in the area! Love the fish and the mosaic art walk on the local elementary school! Go Art!! We promise to bring our 100 degree weather back home to Texas. Whew, it's been hot!
