Eclectic, fun artist's cottage built in 1890,just off Jones Street, walking distance to all of Savannah's historic sights, restaurants. Dog park across the street., fenced yard/garden. Adorable house with old heart of pine walls, floors, ceilings, very quaint. Large screen TV in sunroom to watch movies. King size master, guest room has a antique, 3/4 size bed, which is a bit smaller than a full, could accommodate 2 people cozily in guest room. New beds in house within the past year, both with feather bed toppers. Premium thread-count sheets and fluffy white towels. New queen sofa bed just added in October '08. Small office with desk, High Speed wireless internet, Fax machine, Pet friendly, non-smokers only please (outside smoking ok), nice fenced in patio with table and chairs, Gas grill, great kitchen, butcher block counter tops. Fun artwork throughout, (owner is a professional photographer). Downstairs bath has old claw foot tub built in, with hand sprayer, excellent for enjoying baths. Upstairs bath has nice glass, walk-in shower, roomy baths, giant master on whole upper floor. 10-15 min walk to river street, 10 min walk to Broughton Street, 10-15 min walk to Forsyth Park. 2 blocks from Clary's cafe for breakfast, close to Troup Sq. Very convenient to all downtown sights. Your well behaved pets are very welcome of any size (I have two goldens, so love dogs)doggie treats and gourmet coffee are provided! I moved from Atlanta to Savannah after finding this cute house in 1993...I walked in and fell in love with it and literally , put an offer on it, bought it and moved to within a month. I've loved every minute of Savannah and love my house so much, but after meeting my boyfriend this past winter, I've moved to Wyoming to be with him. I love my house so much I don't want to give it up so have put it on vacation rental. The home still has my furniture, many pieces which were handed down from my grandmother as well as artwork I've collected on my travels and from artists I've met and loved. Mainly you will find folk art pieces and a few photographs taken mainly from friends who are photographers. I am personally a commercial photographer and do a lot of travel work for various travel magazines. No matter what, I love coming home to savannah and hope to alway have this place as my little oasis in the world. It's very special to me and I hope it is to you as well. The home is continually described to me as eclectic and cozy, I hope you will enjoy your stay at my favorite little cottage.
Why the Owner Chose Savannah
It's a great location downtown , walking distance to everything and the house has amazing old architectural details like heart of pine ceilings and original bead board wall, the old staircase is really cool and the downstairs bath has the BEST bathtub ever!! Light the candles around the edge and submerge yourself away!
The Unique Benefits of this House
this rental is not only a vacation rental, but my own vacation home. I keep nice sheets and towels, it's stocked with the basics in the kitchen like olive oil, spices, condiments, coffee, sugar, half and half. I have my own personal dishes that were my grandmothers, my artwork, feather beds, nice things around. This is really more of a home then just a rental unit. One of my favorite things to do is to take the beach bikes and ride around town, there are wonderful homes to see, ride through forsyth park, ride around the squares and see the sights.it's really the prettiest town ever. I pinch myself sometimes not believing I get to live in Savannah.
