Location: Avon, Northwest, Colorado, USA (Stonecreek Condos on North Side of Nottingham Lake) View Map
Accommodations: Ground Floor Condo, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2)
A perfect little retreat for the couple with or without pets. Charming, comfy, cozy, homey, and convenient to everything. Nice covered patio to catch some rays, even if there is snow on the ground or in the summer sit out and have coffee and watch the hummingbirds, or have friends over for a nice glass of wine in the evening and enjoy the cool breezes.
Condo faces south, so plenty of sunshine, but stays cool. Minutes from the Eagle River or the lake for great fishing, with views to die for. Quiet, serene, and relaxing. You will love it here.
Just a quick walk to the Avon rec center, featuring a pool, slide, full workout room, sauna,(steam and dry),& hot tub. Also within walking distance to the Avon library, the new gondola that whisks you up to the Beaver Creek resort, & several restaurants. Sit on the patio and watch Colorado's most spectacular fireworks show on the fourth of July.
The Beaver Creek Rodeo is just a half mile away, and well worth the experience. Good food, and lots of fun. Many world class golf courses in the area, and of course tennis, rafting, biking, hiking, fishing, & horse back riding, just to name a few.
Winter sports are unsurpassed in this area. Vail, the largest ski area in North America and almost always #1 ski resort in the world, Beaver Creek, catering to families, and boasting the largest snow fall in recorded history this past season 2008. So much to do and enjoy in this summer/winter resort. Be sure to click on the BC link to see all the valley has to offer. There is an attached one car garage so no need to be cleaning snow and ice off the windows or heating up the car to drive wherever you need to go.
If you run out of things to experience in this valley, its a short 58 mile scenic ride further west to Glenwood Springs, where you can sit in the natural hot springs pools. One pool is just luke warm with diving boards, and a huge slide, the other is 104 degrees. The mineral water that pours out of the mountains is so therapuetic, and you can also visit the natural vapor steam caves at the same location. This is a treat that shouldnt be missed if at all possible.
So much to do,so little time, in your home away from home.

Map & Owner's Profile
Cozy Condo with Great Views in the Heart of Avon
Year Purchased: 2007
Why the Owner Chose Avon
After having lived here all this time, I decided it was time I owned something, and I originally bought it just to live here myself, but with the economy as it is, it just made sense to rent it out short term. The location is accessable to everything, and close to the lake with marvelous views, and I love the walking path around the lake. I also love the fact that I will have a property to leave for my children and grandchildren to also enjoy this area.
The Unique Benefits at this Ground Floor Condo
I love sitting out on the patio in the morning with my coffee, it's so cool in the summer, and pleasant. I love walking the path around the lake and looking at all the gorgeous scenery. I love the roaring fire in the winter, with the big southern facing windows for watching it snow. I love walking in the snow in the winter, it's quiet, and peaceful. I love that the condo is so close to everything, the rec center, the library, the postoffice, the grocery store, restaurants, and that it is a quick and easy drive to Beaver Creek skiing or Vail. It is a cozy unit and it makes me happy to be able to share that with people other than myself. All my quests have been so wonderful, and seem to enjoy the place as much as I do.
This is where you catch the bus to Vail and Beaver Creek, and where the gondola is to Beaver Creek
