  We truly enjoyed our stay at this cottage. We had a wonderful week of activities, and at the end of every day it was great to look forward to coming "home" to the Carriage House. It was so attractive, clean, relaxing, and colorful. We were both sad to leave at the end of our week. Besides doing a lot of hiking, on our last night we went on a sunset cruise on the Margaret Todd, a beautiful four-masted schooner, out of Bar Harbor. It was great to watch the crew work the sails, and lovely views and a memorable sunset. The Collins' are great hosts, very willing to share information and suggetions about the area. They made us feel very welcome. This was our second visit with them and look forward to other stays here in the future.

  If we ever return to Southwest Harbor we will definately stay here again. The cottage was exactly as described. There was nothing left to ask for.All we needed was a market and the owners led us to one nearby. The owners even left detailed maps of the area that we could explore on foot. If you are considering a couples retreat, this cottage is the place for you.

  My husband and I stayed at this lovely carriage house during late April (2011). We wanted to visit Acadia and wanted to find a nice quiet area to stay in. Southwest Harbor provided the quiet side of Acadia we wanted and Cyd and Ken provided a beautiful space in their carriage house. The carriage house looks exactly as the pictures in the ad and the hosts were extremely friendly while giving plenty of privacy. The carriage house is a close distance to beautiful scenery and the park, it's extremely clean, and decorated very nicely. The bed is very comfortable and the gas stove in the living area is very nice also. This space gave all the amenties of home and more, it was a perfect stay and we thank our hosts for providing such a great place for people to visit!

  This carriage house was perfect for our week stay in Maine. The cottage is expertly clean, cozy and has everything plus more that you will ever need for your stay. Cyd and Ken are some of the friendliest people we have ever met and make sure that you are enjoying yourself. They go that extra mile that others wouldn't. We will be back to Maine and we will certainly be back to this cozy retreat! Thank you, thank you, thank you:)

  My husband and I found this property to be even more beautiful in person than it is in the pictures! The carriage house is warm, inviting, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. It is located in a wooded setting near town and the trails of Acadia National Park. We had originally thought about staying in Bar Harbor but are so glad we found the carriage house instead. It is a short walk to the quiet town of SW Harbor which has great restaurants and short drive to Bar Harbor. The owners have collected menus from wonderful restaurants and we had fabulous meals based on their recommendations. The owners also have compiled a binder of brochures of activities around the island. This was extremely helpful to us in deciding what to do. The carriage house has everything you need for a comfortable stay (including a comfy bed). My husband generally only likes to stay in very, very nice hotels and even he was impressed with this propery. We loved visiting Acadia and the restaurants on the island. I would highly recommend this property and would return. Thanks!

  Cyd and Ken's carriage house was the perfect place to come home to after long days on the trails of Acadia. They were the perfect hosts, providing information on local restaurants and activities. The apartment was clean and stocked with kitchen amenities and cooking staples. Southwest Harbor is a quaint town without the tourist "craziness" you find in Bar Harbor. We highly recommend staying with Cyd and Ken if you're looking for a quiet, comfortable and cozy Acadia experience.

  The carriage house is a very quiet and nice place in a forest close to Southwest-Harbour. It is the cleanest house we have ever rented and everything !! is provided. If you still miss something, just tell your hosts, they are perfect. In case of bad weather you love to stay at home and enjoy it. There are two very comfortable sofas. Also you can do many hikes right from that place. We can very much recommend it. Thanks, it was great!!!!

  My wife and I (and our dogs) stayed here after searching for a quiet cottage rental on the island. When we saw the pictures of the carriage house, we were excited to rent the place for a week last summer. We were not disappointed. The carriage house is immaculate and the hosts (who live in the main house on the property) were friendly, helpful, and respected our privacy. The wooded lot is gorgeous; an island of sunshine in the midst of dense woods of pristine pines. The location--on the "quiet side of the island"--was exactly what we were looking for during our vacation. The trails surrounding the lot are beautiful. Seriously, this is a magical place! We can recommend this rental without hesitation... just don't rent it during the week WE want to visit again next summer!

  Even though we came up during the winter we had a very nice stay at the carriage house. Cyd and Ken left all the helpful instructions you could ever need to have a pleasant stay.

  This apartment was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and there was much attenton to detail. The living room and kitchen were cheerful with skylights that filled the room with light. We loved the view of pine trees from the windows. The bedroom was lovely and the queen bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped to prepare meals with spices and other staples provided. We stayed at the end of October and the gas fireplace provided warmth and a cozy atmosphere. Southwest Harbor is our favorite part of the island and the carriage house is near great hiking trails. It is a short ride to Bar Harbor and to miles of carriage path trails for biking or walking. The area is private and quiet. We enjoyed sitting by the outdoor wood burning chiminea and seeing the stars, which were magnificent. We walked a nearby trail and witnessed a gorgeous sunrise. The owners provided recommendations for restaurants and activites. Experience the beauty of Acadia while staying at this lovely, well equipped apartment. The Carriage House makes you want to come again!
