Not only is the location of this apartment perfect, Peter has done an outstanding job of supplying everything you could want. I was able to spend spring break with my family here and share Paris with them. I hope to come back and stay in this location many times again.

Jan 2, 2012, Dear Peter, Happy New Year from Chicago. I am still descending from our Paris high. I think it’s rare to have a travel experience that exceeds the expectations .Your apartment is spectacular, the location is perfect, we walked everywhere, it met every need. You did a great job of rehabbing it( reviewed the photos), Habib, Xavier, Helene were all very helpful. Your restaurant choices, especially nearby were great,we had my wife’s birthday at La Fontaine de Mars, my granddaughters tried escargot, oysters, all the pastries downstairs, played backgammon at night, and even quieted down when I thought they were too loud. I hope I can recommend your apartment to others in the future, and hope you will stop for a drink, coffee, or hello when you are in Chicago. Thanks for the opportunity for my wife and I to spend a wonderful week with 3 granddaughters, the memories will be with us for a long time. Sincerely, Melvin V. Gerbie MD

We loved our experience. If I explained why in detail, I would just be repeating other reviews. There are some drawbacks to the apartment compared to an American style four-star hotel, but it was comfortable, roomy by comparison to most alternatives, and well-arranged. And the location is wonderful. It was if a cousin allowed us to use his place while he was away; we really did feel more like we were part of Paris than if we'd stayed in a Hilton. We chose this apartment because inquiries about others of similar size in the area all resulted in bait-and-switch responses (the special apartment listed is rarely available, but they just happen to have several others for rent). Dealing with Peter, by contrast, was a pleasure. The WiFi worked very well, but we never did figure out how to get an English language TV channel--a minor drawback when Rue Cler and the Eiffel Tower are a short stroll away. If you're spending a week or more in Paris, this is where you should stay. The apartment can accommodate two couples who are on good terms or a family of four very handily. With two showers/toilets you could even manage with more.

Four of us stayed there for four nights. The owner was very gracious and open about the property when I was dealing with him on the phone. He preferred a check rather than credit card, which was a little disconcertig in dealing over the phone with an unknown individual. Everything that I could find out about him prior to renting, looked like he was an honest individual. I found that to be true. Making arrangements to met the custodian to gain access to the property worked smoothly. The property is first class with everything that you would want in your own home. Very detailed written instructions on using all of the appliances. Stocked with basic necessities. Washer, dryer dish washer, WI Fi, telephone. An ideal neighborhood to begin exploring Paris. Less than two blocks to the Eiffel Tower.

We chose this apartment because we knew we wanted the 7e arrt., and for le Tour Eiffel's visible presence down the street. We were not disappointed! There were so many unique things about this apartment and its location, the 3 of us rested very comfortably here between explorations. Spotlessly clean, Peter's apartment had all the amenities we had missed in two earlier apartments: fluffy beds & pillows; Large showers/shower head; several English speaking channels on T.V.; American magazines and recent English-speaking movies. I'm not a Euro-phoebe at all, but these luxuries were especially appreciated after being on the road for a few weeks. The location was perfect for enjoying le Tour Eiffel and Champs de Mar as well as fine restaurants in this favorite area of Paris. We returned to Goldini's, a memorable Italian restaurant on Monte Piquet for fettuccini and truffles. Also, just down the block there were several excellent restaurants. We enjoyed gathering goodies in nearby gourmet food stores for a picnic in le Champs de Mar, too. We mastered the Metro and traveled everywhere we wanted with the help of an $.99 app for our phones. So close to the Seine, it was a joy to wake early and walk the city taking photos. I own and manage a VRBO/HomeAway rental, and consider myself a very picky guest. Not only did Peter exceed my standards, I went home with a few ideas for my own rental. I will definitely return to Peter's apartment and recommend it to all. Nothing is lost in translation here!

We visited Paris for Bastille Day and stayed 6 nights. The location of the apartment is ideal for the Eiffel Tower! Not far from the Seine, metro, and train. Plenty of choices of nearby restaurants. Our favorite was Firmin le barbier. Highly recommended! I would give this property 5 stars, except for the fact that the apartment was very small for our group of 7. We are a family of 5 and were accompanied by a couple. Our friends took the actual bedroom and we took the other "bedroom", which is a room separated from the living room by folding doors (rather than a wall). The girls slept comfortably on the living room sofa bed, but my son slept on an air mattress that leaked air and went flat by morning. The internet and phone weren't working when we arrived, but Xavier saved the day and fixed them! Thanks Xavier! Loved having the washer and dryer and two bathrooms! We would definitely consider staying here again as a family of 5. I would recommend for single families up to 6 people.
Owner response:I always appreciate the kind and generous comments from my guests. I especially pleased to hear of the enjoyment they have while visiting my home away from home! I travel to Paris about five times a year and each trip is filled with projects to make the apartment more enjoyable (I can see I need to bring a new inflatable to Paris in a few weeks! ;-) ). I agree the apartment is small for a group of seven. As per my listing I mention ‘This exceptional property, which can accommodate 6 persons comfortably’. As a convenience for my guests, my greeting service is also available the entire time you are staying in the apartment. Nothing can be more frustrating than to have something not work while you are on vacation. Especially when it comes to utilities and the internet service where the customer service people speak only French! If something is not working, give my service a call and they will be happy to assist you. These guests also discovered one of my creative designs of the apartment! My favorite reclining chair is in the second bedroom. While I am there, I can open the doors and enjoy an enlarged living area. I often relax on the recliner with a glass of wine, listen to music, read a book or watch a movie! Again, my thanks to these guests and to all who have been able to enjoy my passion for Paris!

We stayed in Peter's apartment July 1 to 11, 2011 with our two teenagers, we enjoyed the ability to eat in after a busy day of sightseeing and have some down time with a movie. It was so nice to have a washer and dryer in the apartment. The apartment had all the comforts of home with wonderful beds and linens. We picked up breakfast every morning at the bakery downstairs. The proximity to the Eiffel tower and Trocadero perfect. We highly recommend this location.

We stayed in the apartment for 8 nights with 4 teenagers. It was the perfect location and accommodation! The girls were able to practice their French at the boulangerie on rue Ste. Dominique, and the restaurant on the corner. I was able to visit all the familiar places from my time at the American University in Paris. Peter answered all of my questions and was very helpful in advance. Helene was helpful with the internet issues we had and was persistent until it was resolved. The beds and sofa bed are very comfortable. All over wonderful place. I highly recommend staying here!

My family and I stayed here for April school vacation and we can not say enough about this lovely apartment. So close to the Eiffle tower, plenty of restaurants in walking distance, and a perfect amount of space for a family of 4. Clean, beds are very comfortable and it is stocked with all the amenities you need while on vacation. We had such a lovely week and hope to return to Paris again soon.

Our week at your lovely apartment last month was absolutely perfect. From our breakfasts downstairs, to wine and cheese in the apartment after a long day of activities, my husband, daughter and son-in-law felt we had a true Parisian experience. We made a list the first day of everything we wanted to do and we managed to do it all! We agreed that our favorite museum was l'Orangerie. We had the bonus of a big labor demonstration and a bomb scare at Eiffel Tower. Your location was perfect. We found our way to the Metro, tried local restaurants and the guys were happy to hook up to your wireless when we gave them a few minutes. We will definitely recommend the rental to our many friends who go to Paris quite regularly. Thank you for sharing your lovely home. Helen and Bob

This apartment is literally seconds away from the Eiffel Tower. It is beautifully furnished, and the owner has obviously put a lot of thought and effort into every detail. It was a perfect place to call "home" while my family and I were in Paris. We would stay there again in a hearbeat.

Our family of seven (including our son, daughter-in-law, and 3 grandsons) enjoyed a most comfortable stay July 3-10, 2010. Peter, the owner, did an excellent job of communicating with us and providing helpful information prior to our arrival. The apartment was every bit as nice as described and Xavier, our greeter, did an outstanding job of welcoming and orienting us to the apartment's amenities. The apartment is extremely well equipped and furnished making for a most comfortable visit. This was our fifth visit to Paris, but our first apartment rental experience. We will definitely consider returning here. We have been totally spoiled and will be planning future vacations the VRBO way.

I recently stayed here with my husband, our two kids (aged 5 and 8) and my parents and it was perfect for all of us in terms of location and size. The two bathrooms (with north american plumbing!) were really nice to have, as well as the washer and drier. The area is fantastic- lots of great restaurants, bakeries, and shops to make your stay easy. And having the Eiffel Tower literally around the block is extraordinary. We will definately stay here again if given the opportunity. Thank you Peter!!

We just returned from a week in this apartment. It was everything advertised and more. The location was spectacular. The apartment had every amenity possible. The beds were sooo comfortable, the kitchen was extremely well equipped, and two bathrooms were very welcome. This apartment is perfect for two couples or a family. There were groceries, restaurants, shops, a wonderful bakery just downstairs, and it was all about a block from the Eiffel Tower! The owner, Peter, could not have made this rental any easier. He was excellent to deal with and his greeting service did a great job. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Peter for the opportunity to rent this beautiful home away from home in Paris. Merci~

What a wonderful stay we had in this beautiful apartment. No detail was spared! Comfy beds, wonderful bathrooms and great living area. Restaurant and bakery right downstairs. Take Bus 42 (Gare East) (right downstairs) to Ave.. Montagne and you can shop like a Parisian, too. Just steps to the Eiffel Tower and the Seine River Cruise! This place is a must!

Our family of 6 stayed here for several days in April 2010. It was just an excellent experience from beginning to end. Peter was professional and helpful in all our dealings with him. The apartment itself was lovely and worked very well for our family. We were all so impressed with how comfortable the beds were and if I could have taken the sofa bed home with me I would have! The location is fantastic, with restaurants, grocery and public transportation so close at hand. And clearly you can't beat having the Eiffel Tower a block away. Given the fact that we would have needed two hotel rooms to fit our family, this apartment was a very economical choice. I would highly recommend this apartment for your next Parisian visit.

You're silly NOT to stay here. It is absolute luxury, and only pennies compared to a 5-star hotel. Transportation is very near and plentiful, but we walked almost everywhere due to the prime location of this apartment. Eiffel Tower, Rue Cler, Notre Dame (longer walk but BEAUTIFUL along the Seine). Good thing too, because you're kidding yourself if you think you can ignore the heavenly aromas from the bakery waiting at the front door every morning. Why is it no one can make a proper croissant except in France?

Not only is this apt comfortable, warm and beautifully decorated, it is in the perfect location conveniently located to the Seine and many other famous landmarks. If walking long distances is a problem, transportation, taxi, bus and the train station, is within minutes of the apt. My mother, mother-in-law sister-in-law and I felt very safe our entire five night stay. We were impressed with how comfortable all the beds, including the pull out couch, were. The high end linens and towels were a bonus. Peter was very accommodating, willing to answer any questions or concerns I had regarding my trip to Paris.

This apartment is absolutely AMAZING!! I could not have asked for a better place to stay. It is a home away from home. It is clean, organized, and it has every possible amenity a person could ask for. They have left no stone unturned. The location is perfect. There is a metro stop a few blocks away, Eiffel Tower a block away, food places, stores, groceries, markets, etc...everything you could possibly need! I cannot say enough great things about this apartment!! I would 100% stay here again and I recommend it to everyone!! I wish I was there right now!

Patty and I, along with another couple, stayed at Peter's apartment in September. One always worries about renting a private place from a stranger. However, Peter was prefect to deal with, and the apartment was just as represented. The apartment was small, but with two really good beds/bedrooms, and two perfectly adequate baths. The apartment is nicely appointed. The building was in a great area--literally within a block the Eiffel Tower. Transportation was easy. The train was just several blocks away. It was easy to get on and to transfer to other trains and/or the metro. On the other hand, it was just about a mile to the Louve and all of the things around it. It was a block to the Seine and the river boat rides. Peter was helpful prior to the trip by sending us a list of suggestions/favorites. Once there, his handy man was also of good help to us. We would stay at Peter's place again (and may!). Bon Voyage! Bob & Patty

We stayed for 5 days in August. The greeter was very helpful and pleasant and informative. The apartment and the location are as described. There are many great places to eat nearby. The apartment is quiet and well furnished. As a place to stay in Paris I think it is marvelous. I thought the price was reasonable in comparison to other places I looked at. I'm sure I would stay there again given the chance.Transactions with the owner were prompt and businesslike.

In March 2009, our family spent 5 amazing nights in Paris and in this beautifully renovated apartment. We were 4 adults + 2 children and the facilities were top notch. The apartment was clean and had all the amenities we needed to live like parisiens right from the start. The owners provide an excellent reference to the local area with recommendations for dining and other activities. Location was ideal to the Eiffel tower. About 10minutes walk to nearest subway stop. Close to grocery stores and some great little restaurants. Le Firmin is just a few doors down and has a great deal for lunch during the week. Only 10minutes walk is Rue Cler market. Our family found booking this room very simple and instructions were straight forward to access the apartment. We did have to wait about an hour before being greeted at the apartment because we neglected to call upon our arrival in Paris and only called when we got to the apartment. Luckily there is a delicious bakery downstairs. Overall our family had a fabulous stay in this apartment and will definitely be back! Thank you!
