This house was awesome. We stayed with 4 adults and 6 kids and had plenty of space. The kids loved the back yard and the adults loved the sunsets on the patio. The neighborhood was beautiful and we walked to the beach every day. We worried about the train noise before we chose the house, but it was no issue. We looked at some of the other available houses while we were there and were so glad to have selected this one. San Clemente is the perfect beach town; the beaches have a local feel because there is little public parking. I would definitely recommend this house.

Recommended for:Tourists without a car, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Our group of 10 recently stayed at this home and had a great time. The house was spotless and is well-equipped with linens, towels, cookware, etc. The house is very spacious and we all had plenty of room. The kids loved the large backyard for playing games. The beach near the pier was our favorite and getting there was a very short drive away. We hope to return again!

Our family had a great time in SC at this home. It's within walking distance to the beach (although with little kids and all the stuff they bring with them we found it was usually easier to drive). Easy access to downtown SC and the freeway (for those trips to Disneyland or the San Diego Zoo). The views from the upstairs (which is virtually all window to the North and West -- ocean view) is nice. Most of the living area is upstairs -- living room, dinning room, kitchen and a patio for sunset dinners -- and that's where we spent most of our time. Our teenager loved the cozy loft with it's own TV. The little ones played in the backyard (which is larger than most in SC -- especially west of the freeway.) The owners are wonderful -- they greeted us on arrival and showed us around. A great place for a beach vacation!

Perfect Summer Rental!

My family and I have now rented this beautiful home for the last two summers. It is a great place for a big family. The big back yard is great for kids! I love the fact that it has ocean views from the home and very short walk to the beach. Pictures don't do this house justice. It is even better in person. Very clean!

Our family, 2 adults & 4 boys, loved our vacation in this gorgeous home. We found it spotless and close to everything. Every day we walked to the beaches and every afternoon we walked to the yogurt shop. We will be back !

Holiday visit 15 August to 22 August 2009. (Family of 6 adults) Would recommend this home to everyone. Everything was clean and tidy and felt like home from home. The owners left clean towels and all beds had fresh linen on. They also left DVD's to watch, books to read and games to play. The shortest route to the beach has steep steps to negotiate though a longer walk to the pier can be taken. We did have a problem with the lights the first night as the electric fusebox tripped out and we didn't know how to sort it. I contacted the owners who then had an electrician out to us the next day. The only other thing we found hard was the kitchen is on the first floor and the BBQ obviously outside which meant making sure all food, equipment and drink was downstairs or someone had to keep running back and forwards. The town is within walking distance and there is a market on a Sunday morning and also a local shop Billy's sells excellent fresh meat, fish and veg. I would recommend this house to my friends and family, I especially enjoyed walking to the pier in the morning for a coffee and to watch the surfers.

I had a very good time with my friends and family here at this house. Its a gorgeous house, with an easy walk to the beach. It is very comfortable and has an at home feeling. I would recommend it to anyone and I plan on coming back in the future!

Caution/See Property Before You Rent

We rented the house last year sight unseen. Big mistake! The house was filthy. The white furniture had stains from juice spills all over it. Cobb webbs lined every corner of the living area. The carpet was black from tar from the beach and the downstairs smelled like mold. We also had an unexpected guest - a rat in the wall. The owners did call the exterminator to take care of the rat. They also did apologize for the condition of the house explaining that we came in after a house full of high school students. I still wonder why they didn't have the house professionally cleaned including the carpets. I would suggest trying to be the first tenants of the season or expect to spend your first day cleaning and calling a carpet cleaner. Also there are no window blinds in the master bedroom so it is rise and shine early. The gas stove top burners do not work correctly so use caution when using or risk getting burned. The kitchen is stocked but wash eveything before you use it. Rat droppings were in and on cooking pots, pans and dishes. It was a shame because the location is fantastic. Just use caution.

Owner response:Nobody was more alarmed than we were that a rat was discovered in our home last year. We brought in the exterminators immediately. They located and closed the entry points and set traps in the landscaping. Since then we have been free of the intruders. We now have twice monthly service to insure our home remains a free zone. Many families have stayed at our home for a week or more. No problems have been reported. Two families chose to have weddings on our back lawn this year and e-mailed us that the occasions were wonderful and they loved our home. Each Spring we clean the white slip covers and steam clean the white carpets. Light floors and furnishings provide a bright sunny atmosphere. We ask that shoes be removed in our home but unfortunately not all cooperate. The house is cleaned professionally after each family departs. We do our best to make our guests’ time enjoyable. We have alerted our cleaning people to carefully locate and remove spider webs. We plan to put white cotton draperies on the master bedroom windows similar to those in the other bedrooms. The gas stove electric ignition system will be corrected. This review has been helpful and we are grateful that the reviewer thinks the location of our house is fantastic – we do too.
