The photos Honua Kai Suite 616 Hokulani were extremely accurate and we were very pleased upon arrival. Our flight was late and we called Chris once we arrived. He met us in the lobby and my boys still talk about him as if they know him personally. We only called Chris once during our 10 day stay, he responded quickly and answered any questions we had. He was super friendly and made us feel welcome right away. Checkout was easy and we got our deposit back in a timely manner. This was a magical vacation for our family… everything seemed to go like clockwork. My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary. This time we travelled with our children and loved every second of it. Our boys fell head over heels in love with Maui and the HONUA KAI. We usually have a food memory from all our vacations. We stopped to buy fresh coconut daily and picked mangos off of local mango trees. (with permission from owners of course) We saw whales, rainbows, sunrises and sunsets from our balcony. While on the SUP boards we saw turtles right at our own beach. We did body surfing, body boarding and snorkeling daily. My husband and I went for daily walks early in the morning before the boys even woke up. It was so nice having all the surrounding hotels and the option to walk on the beach or on the boardwalk. Our ultimate favorite time was on Kaanapali Beach. Hands down…a truly relaxing location. The long and short of it is that we didn’t have to even leave our property to find a little piece of paradise. In terms of the resort we were impressed. It was worth it to spend a little extra for our partial ocean view room. Next time we might even try ocean view. The beds were awesome and we had amazing sleeps every-night. The room was clean and tidy upon arrival. We didn’t really need the housekeeping…. because of the washer, dryer and dishwasher. The only thing that I missed was a real vacuum. The kitchen had everything necessary for cooking to be a breeze. It was nice to be on our own timetable regarding food…especially with kids. We used the barbeques and ate at the beach a few times as well. The variety of pools and hot-tubs was nice….Our boys enjoyed the two outside pools the most. The slide seemed pretty busy most of the time and they got tired of it pretty quickly. I have already recommended our unit to anybody who was compelled to listen to our vacation stories. We will return and will continue to recommend the property to anyone who wants a HOME AWAY FROM HOME!!!!

Great Winter Getaway

From the moment we walked through the door and saw the folding glass wall leading to the lanai we knew we'd picked the right place. The view from the lanai in the mornings was amazing, to the left the mist coming over the mountains and to the right the ocean and the whales jumping. The condo was the perfect size for the two of us. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was large enough for two to get ready without getting in each other's way. The kitchen had everything we needed. The condo is very clean and well maintained and the staff at the resort were more than happy to help us with whatever requests we had. The property is beautiful, the grounds well groomed and Dukes is a great place to have breakfast and watch the dolphins spin by or have a romantic dinner and listen to the local musicians. We would surely recommend suite 616 to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in beautiful Maui. We hope to be back there soon.

Very nice unit. Comes with anything you need. Towels, beach chairs,grill accessories, snorkel gear. Nice view of mountains and ocean. Great during whale season. Dukes restaurant was very good for breakfast and dinner. Very large pool area. Nice beach. close to activities and other dining opportunities. Will reutrn in the future.

The accommodations were great, the place was clean and very well taken care of. The view from the balcony was much better than expected as it was a good view of the ocean with no other accommodations facing the balcony. We will definitely be staying there again if the occasion calls for it. Also the pools were fantastic as well as the ocean just behind the resort. Chris was great to deal with and set the tone for the maui holiday with his no shoes attitude. He inspired me to go shoe-less and it was liberarating.

This is a great property! The grounds, pool area and Dukes Restaurant are all top notch. Great view of the ocean and the mountains. The unit is well kept and suited our group of two adults and two post teens just fine. The beach area is rocky and not good for swimming. Go to the south about 100-200 yds and there is great snorkeling. Black Rock is a short drive and accomodates both swimming and snorkeling. DT Fleming beach is north of the property, but an easy drive with plenty of parking. Highly recommend this property and unit, would go back again without any hesitation.

Fabulous Stay

My husband and I spent 10 days at this beautiful spot and had a perfect holiday. The condo is very clean with everything you need for your stay, we felt right at home here. The view from the lanai is awesome and we enjoyed many cups of coffee and many glasses of wine out there while enjoying that view. The resort itself is very nice and very well kept, we enjoyed the pools and hot tubs and Duke's is really good if you feel like a meal out. We used the barbecues alot and found them very handy to have for our dinners in. There is a really great walkway from Honua Kai to Whaler's Village that we used almost daily to get our exercise in and to check out some new restaurants. The beach is also good for walking and we spent many days snorkeling right out front of the resort, having the snorkel gear & beach chairs in the condo was a huge bonus! Overall we had an amazing holiday here and will recommend this condo to everyone.

We enjoyed our Maui visit and the location of our condo was just right since our daughter and her family were staying at the adjacent Westin Resort condos...we ate all breakfasts, some lunches and two dinners on the lanai which made for enjoyable dinnning...we had great food from Dukes and enjoyed every sunset...our grandchildren had alot of fun in all the pools, slides and other water features available on Hanua Kai...easy access to the excellent beach was also a real plus...and we used the beach walkway to walk to a from Wailer's village, about 45 minutes each way...all in all, an excellent value for such a great location and facility

Great Honeymoon

My new wife and I were given this honeymoon from our parents. We enjoyed it so much, the condo was just as stated to us. The accomadations could not have been better. We truly enjoined all the comforts of home. It felt as if we had lived here forever. The owners could not have been any easier to deal with and were so friendly and helpful. We would recommend this condo and location to anyone who wants a fun, relaxing and homey vacation.

Chris was exceptionally nice and helpful - he met us when we arrived and showed us to the condo. It was fantastic ... good size, everything was new and nice, HDTVs in the living area and bedroom, great (really great) bed, huge deck wth glass doors that you can open all the way ... nothing better than just having everything wide open, but then closing up and having air conditioning when you need it. Great snorkeling out front, nice pool for lounging with drinks from Dukes, and its a low key area (not busy). Nice boardwalk as well for taking a run, and we used the exercise room a few days as well. All in all, everything we could have asked for, no regrets at all. Will consider bringing our younger children next time ... it seemed very family friendly.

It's very easy to give five stars. The condo was perfect for my husband and I. It has everything you could want, beautiful view of both the West Maui mountains and the ocean with a great view of Lanai. We spent our mornings drinking coffe and watching the sun come up and the evenings enjoying the wonderful views.and the sun going down. The condo is very clean with a super comfortable bed, large bathroom and kitchen which we made good use of. The Honua Kai has beautiful grounds and is close to everything. This was our second visit to Honua Kai and our first at #616. You will not be disapointed. Thank you Chris, we hope to visit again soon.

My mother, daughter and I recently spent 8 nights here and they were amazing! The condo is in a great location with a beautiful view of the ocean. We spent every morning enjoying the wonderful scenery. The property is gorgeous and well maintained. Chris was a great host and greeted us at the resort upon arrival. I was a little nervous renting from an owner because I had never done it before and I will say it was great!! We had the most fabulous time in Maui and the Gengs ohana made it that way. Our first stop after the airport was Costco and we did most of our cooking in and used the bbqs as well. It had all the conveniences of home and we took full advantage! It was the perfect condo size for our family of 4. We have two small boys and the pull-out sofa bed was perfect for them. Eating meals on the lanai was one of our favorite parts of the condo for sure. The views were fabulous. Even saw some shark splashes from the room. We would come back and stay here for sure! We would highly recommend to anyone!!!

Manhattan in Maui!! Loved it...

We (2 adults and 2 teens) stayed here 10-15-10. It's actually better than the photos. =) It's very modern in decore. It was classy and fully equipped with everything you need for 4 people. The bathroom was huge and nice. The pull out couch was perfect for our 2 teens. The living room "blacks out" perfectly for sleeping. The air works amazing. The lanai is BIG and has an ocean/sunset view. I highly recommend hitting Costco and cooking a lot here. The views are so good/relaxing. We used the bbq downstairs and it was awesome! The pools are the best. The beach out front is def coral, not sand bottom for swimming. There are plenty of nearby beaches with sand bottoms. Snorkeling at the beach out front is great. (turtles) The little cafe/market is wonderful! Dukes is pricey but good. I would come back in a second! In fact we will be back!! Thanks Chris...

My husband and I stayed at the Geng's condo for 8 nights and it was pure paradise. From one of the most comfortable beds ever to the oversized bathroom to the beautiful decor....it was a fabulous experience. Chris greeted us when we arrived and got us settled right away. We took full advantage of the kitchen and bbqs that are located on the property. The property was gorgeous with several pools and hottubs and an amazing view of the ocean while laying by the pool. We snorkled just a 10 minute walk on the beach from the property which was convenient. Having Duke's on the property was a plus as well. They have a great happy hour! We already can't wait to go back! Thank you Geng family!

We stayed in this wonderful unit for our first vacation as a family of three and had a wonderful time! We had everything we needed to make traveling with a one year old easy and enjoyable. The pools were lovely, the market in the lobby had a great selection of gourmet and organic food and wine and when we wanted to go out we just went to Duke's! This condo is not only beautiful but a great place to stay with its amenaties and all the comforts of home. We came to the island to get married and stay for a honeymoon after the wedding. The room was very comfortable and we quiet, as we never heard and barely saw another soul. The condo had an excellent location and parking was great! The ania market and Dukes restaurants were great too. We loved everything about our stay, and we look forward to staying at this particular condo again. I had a friend staying at a more costly condo next door and they were amazed at the quality and price for the unit saying that the Hokulani put their condo to shame. It was a wonderful experience working with the owners too, thanks again!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Geng's back in September. To me it was the very first time in Maui, my girlfriend had been in Maui before and for both of us was an awesome experience. The condo was completely furnished with everything we needed. The view was absolutetly incredible. We had breakfast at the lanai every single morning with a stuning view. From sunrise to sunset we were amazed. Thanks to the Gengs for helping us have an awesome stay!!

It was our first time to Maui, HI...on our honeymoon! The condo itself is just perfect and the location is ideal!! Very privately located on the beach (if you're looking for some peace and quiet) and the property and grounds are pristine. Maui is a beautiful island. We cannot begin to describe how it captured our hearts and we WILL be back someday (hopefully sooner than later)!! We definitely recommend the Honua Kai and this particular unit...also, if you stay you MUST eat at Dukes restaurant which is just yards from the condo right near the pool! It's amazing!! Claudette, Chris and Family are FABULOUS! My husband and I just returned from 9 days in Maui. I was nervous since I had never rented from an Owner before, but be assured they are honest, friendly, professional people. We had a terrific time. The honeymoon we never got to take. West Maui had so much to offer. Minutes away from Whalers Village, Lahaina, and great snorkeling coves! I suggest you check out the Alli Nui Snorkel Sail Tour. Best thing we did in Maui! Aloha!!

We stayed in this condo for our wedding/honeymoon vacation in May 2010. The resort itself is gorgeous and Duke's Beach House is a must try (get the wontons)! The condo was very clean and well equiped with a great view of the ocean. We especially enjoyed the snorkel gear and beach chairs during our stay. Chris the owner was incredibly helpful in getting us oriented to the island and had many good suggestions. It was easy to settle in and started to feel like home after a few days. The location is great, right on the Kaanapali Beach path and a few minutes drive from Lahaina town. We would definitley recommend this condo to anyone staying in West Maui.

Loved everything about this condo. My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon in April, 2010. The room was nice and clean and provided a good view of both the ocean and the mountains. The owner, Chris, was very nice and helpful, going above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The resort was beautiful and only a short drive away from several tourist destinations. The new resort restaurant, Duke's, was incredible. On the flight home, my wife and I discussed how we would not change one thing about the honeymoon.

I just came back from an amazing stay at this condo unit and I could not have asked for anything more. The unit is beautiful with an amazing view. The interior is very nicely furnished and had everything we needed. If that wasn't enough, the owner was one of the friendliest people we met on the island and is very helpful in providing ideas for places to see or eat at. I hope to be back here very soon and recommend anyone coming to Maui to rent this unit.

We were The Geng's First renters back in summer of 09 and thinking back on it, it was AMAZING! Chris and his daughter were lovely welcoming us at the door with fresh leis. Chris was so helpful and curtious and the condo felt like home and was first class! My kids talk about staying at the awesome Maui condo every year! We would love to stay there again and would recommend it to anyone! Maui Was for sure our best vacation!!!!
