The Mermaid House is located roughly 5 miles from George Town and 5 minutes by car from the airport. The House overlooks one of the most beautiful beaches in Great Exuma and boasts gorgeous views of the harbor and the surrounding islands.
The house has 2000 square feet of centrally air-conditioned living space with a 1000-square-foot wrap around deck that is partially covered, and with Scandinavian interior decor. It has three bedrooms, two and half bathrooms, and two out door showers. The house sleeps six to eight people, it has king-sized beds in all three rooms, and towels and linens are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the latest appliances, there are laundry facilities available, and even an entertainment center is provided for those of you that are getting too much sun and fresh air.
So come relax on the deck, kick back, have a Bahama Mama, and enjoy the view!

We stayed at the Mermaid House this past April. The house is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. We could not believe the attention to detail. It is obvious that the owners have put great thought into all of the amenities (and believe me, there are MANY) that would make for a wonderful stay. They were also very friendly and made the rental process easy. The house really is on the perfect part of Tar Bay!! The beach is fantastic and has powdery sand. The color of the water was almost shocking every time I turned around and looked out through the many sliders. We loved the Mermaid House and can't wait until we are able to return. It really is a little piece of heaven here on earth!Recommended for: Girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

My husband and I have been staying in Mermaid House on Great Exuma for the past 7 years. It is without a doubt the most beautiful spot in the Caribbean that we have been to. The house is wonderfully furnished, very comfortable and you have an awesome beach just steps from the door. Our kids have also been several times and loved the boating, fishing and snorkeling that the island has to offer. We have met some really nice people on the island. Everyone is very helpful. We rent a boat from Minn's every year and spend most of our time touring the harbor, swimming, snorkeling and fishing. There are so many little islands to explore out on the water. You can't go wrong renting Mermaid House and staying on the beach or getting out and exploring.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.
