My mother and I are checking out tomorrow (4/21/10) and I couldnt rave about this apartment (and the owner) enough. 1. Booking was very easy - working with the staff associated with this rental was very straightforward, clear and professional! Once we were booked, the guide we received for how to get to the apartment and access the keys was very clear and helpful. 2. Place is great - very comfortable and lots of thoughtful extras that are useful to borrow (a few electric converters for those of us who forget them, paperbacks, tour guide books, maps). All instructions on how to use anything in the apartment/access nearby markets are very clearly explained and neatly organized. The apartment is well located - a quick walk to the metro and the start and finish of the Paris Marathon (which was one of the reasons we chose this apartment) 3. A shelter in a storm: our departure was supposed to have been 4/16, unfortunately the Iceland volcano eruption delayed our departure by 3- and then 10- days. The owner and her team extended our stay as much as they could with just a quick email exchange. The free wifi and international phone service from the apartment were such an amazing a convenience for all the calls and communication and rebooking that needed to occur when things dont go as planned. To sum it up, the place is great, the location is great and the owner and her team are great! When I come back to Paris I will stay here!

"It was so refreshing to have a convenient, clean and comfortable apartment to come home to. The door and elevator codes and the double lock system on the apartment door are great for safety. Nancy and Karla were always available to answer questions. Nancy has thought of everything and the apartment rental price is very good value considering the size, convenience and cleanliness. The apartment has maps and tour books and a great reference binder. Having a fully stocked kitchen, lots of extra blankets and electric heaters is great, and we loved the bath, which is quite uncommon for Paris. The hot water is in great abundance since the plumbing is new. It was great for a short stay, but would be fantastic for a longer stay since the kitchen and living room are a good size and there is even a washer /dryer combination in the bathroom. Having free access to calls in Europe and NA would make it easy to plan your next stop in Europe or keep in touch with family back home. The apartment is walk-able to the Arc de Triomphe, where you have access to many of the local tours and city buses the famous Champs Elysee shopping and Lido cabaret. There are many good reasonable restaurants to choose from both on ave MacMahon plus many options to pick up really good prepared food locally on ave des Ternes. The neighbourhood is safe and clean, and the local people are friendly since they live there. I'd avoid the mall in the Congress Centre, but the tall oval La Concorde hotel is a great landmark if you get turned around while walking home. I would take advantage of the many retail outlets along des Ternes though and the street markets for fresh fruits, vegetables and cheeses. Des Termes has all the conveniences of home, including the major electronics department store FNAC where we bought a camera card and a Sony store that recharged my camera battery. There is a good balance of reasonable stores including the large local grocery chain Moni Prix and small boutiques, even one selling Longchamp bags at the same price but better selection than Le Printemps and Gallery Lafayette! The steak house around the corner on Pereire is great - full of friendly locals and even the staff is friendly and efficient. The steak & frites is the only option, but the wine is good and reasonably priced plus the deserts are fantastic. I recommend the profiteroles, of course! I'm planning another trip to Paris already and hope Nancy's apartment is available. I

Nancy's apartment filled the bill for a great Paris vacation. We felt very safe in this area and were able to walk to the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysee and Napoleon's tomb. Trains and metros were readily accessible to go to Versailles, Montmartre and other attractions. Restaurants in the neighbourhood were good and reasonably priced. The apartment was a good size compared to other Paris apartments we looked at. A good grocery store was very conveniently located.

We loved the apartment is Paris. It was easy to find and close to the AirFrance bus stop from CDG airport. Nancy gave us clear information on how to get to the apartment from the airport and Metro. Krystyna, the housekeeper called shortly after we walked in the door. She was very friendly and very helpful with some moneysaving tips for transportation on the Metro. She told us about the Carrefours market a half a block away. (tip: weigh and mark your produce before you get to the checkout or they will refuse to sell it to you and take the wheelie cart that Nancy has provided by the door to the apartment because they won"t give you grocery bags!) Nancy was awesome in providing the comforts of home away from home. This was our first trip to Paris and we couldn't have been in a better location. We would stay here again. Thanks to Nancy and Jeremy for your help in accommodating our special issues to help make this wonderful trip happen!

This is a great place to stay in Paris. I t's so comfortable, this is my second time using it. Access to the apartment is easy, both from the airport via the Air France bus and inside the building via an elevator so luggage is no problem. Nancy has thought of everything a guest could need to be comfortable from lots of linens to lots of guide books to Paris, for walkers, foodies, shoppers, etc. Enjoy!

Millions of tourists visit Paris each year, but few experience the Parisian lifestyle. Staying in Nancy's apartment for two weeks in September 2009, we were fortunate to do just that. The apartment was cozy and met our every need. The neighborhood was safe and the shopping, corner cafe's and the Metro were close by. A terrific experience and we look forward to returning and would highly recommend staying in Nancy's apartment.

We loved Paris! We arrived from London to Paris by train and were whisked away by cab to Nancy's apt. Everything was perfectly situated for conveniences and transportation links. We lived like Parsiens, we walked, biked and used the metro. Every morning we would indulge ourselves with fresh baked pastries and fruits from the nearby bakery and open air market. In front of the wall display of the metro system,we would plan our daily excursion. Everything was thought of. Fans and windows were adequate. Security was not an issue for us. The apt's home office was complete with a library with a desktop and printer. As we would not return to the apt until early evening, we enjoyed our soaking in the full-sized tub. We benefitted too, in having the toilet seperated down the hall. The pullout sofa was sooo comfortable for a grown couple. We enjoyed the long summer nights! We were never in bed before midnight. There were some great restaurant finds in close proximity! As this was our first trip to Paris, I would commend Nancy and Jeremy's personal attention to every detail. I have rented from them in the past and will continue to do so.

My husband and I stayed in Nancy's Paris apartment for seven days August 2009, and found it to be very comfortable. Nancy has indeed taken care of everything that one might need while at a "home away from home". The location was wonderful with an exceptional Italian restaurant a few doors down and a great steakhouse across the street. If we're ever in Paris again, we would certainly stay at Nancy's.

This was our 4th trip to Paris. Had previously stayed in hotels but decided to try a flat. Glad we did. The apartment was exactly as presented on-line. Nice, safe, secure location. Nothing glamorous, but comfortable. A good value. Many restaurants, shops, etc nearby. Short walk to metro. Very convenient to get to/from CDG airport due to AirFrance bus. Would stay again.

The location is convenient to the Metro as well as well as grocery, bakery, wine shops and many local restaurants, etc. Would definitely stay in this apartment again. Thanks. We just returned from spending a 10 day Christmas Holiday at Nancy's apt. The area is absolutely fantastic for shopping and eating, esp the open air market across the street and the bakery nearby. We were totally content to come "home" every night after sightseeing to our quiet, pleasant, fully furnished apt. It was an ideal arrangement for three adults. I would come back to this place anytime. Nancy made our trip almost effortless with all her suggestions.

My husband and I stayed in the apartment for 6 days. Because this apartment is so comfortable and cozy, we ended up sleeping the first 3 days until 2 o'clock in the afternoon. This is an apartment that you can totally relax in. Nancy has provided everything that you need. Everything was labeled so that no mistakes could be made, instructions on how to operate everything, and advice as where to shop. Being able to call back home was an added bonus.Best of all the apartment is in a wonderful area. There were so many wonderful shops and it was close to the Arc de Triomphe. The only thing that disappointed me was that the washer/dryer combo did not dry clothes well and we needed to hang the wet clothes on the fold-out drying rack. This is a great apartment to rent because Nancy has thought of everything to make a stay at this apartment stress free.

We stayed at the apartment for a week with our 2 children, we had a great time. The apartment is in an awesome location close to the bus/metro and major sites. The best part though was all the help and hints Nancy provided us before or stay! Also as a plus, the apartment comes equipped with all you need to make you feel like home, and unlike other France lodging, you will actually have enough hot water to take 4 showers in a row. Thanks for making our vacation even more pleasant.

Browsing through the other comments, there isn't much new I can say, other than we had a lovely four nights in the Paris apt. Breakfast in, before going out for the day was our pattern. We felt very safe, and had no problems even though neither of us speak french. Nancy also suggested a nice hotel nearby to spend a couple of extra nights, as the apt. was booked for part of the time we were to be in Paris. We appreciated being able to rent for part of a week, also, as well as all the help Nancy provides. The apt. was very comfortable, and more of a "home" which we enjoyed after long days of enjoying the city.

We had the best time in Paris and staying in the apartment was the perfect compliment to long days of sight-seeing. We agree with all the nice comments about the apartment. For us, the convience of the market and the grocery stores were great. We had the best time shopping and then fixing our meals. As a family of Vegan's, it can be challenging to eat healthy when traveling. I have already recommended this apartment to my friends.

We stayed in Nancy's apartment at the end of June. It had been booked by our family for a "special" birthday treat so the whole trip was a real surprise and we enjoyed every minute of our trip to Paris. It was a joy to return to the apartment after a long days sightseeing and all the walking to just relax in the peace and quiet. Everything that one could possibly need was there, from an abundance of hot water to a roll of sellotape. It is the best equipped apartment we have ever stayed in. I don't see too many Irish comments in either your book or on this web-site but perhaps in the future when I recommend it to anyone we know going to Paris you will! Many thanks Jill and Alex Malcolm

Nancy and Jackie! Wow...what can I say? We LOVED your Paris apartment. Great location and you thought of everything we might need! I didn't realize how helpful it was going to be to rent from an American (someone who understands the challenges we would face.) My husband was meeting us after 5 days in Paris to drive to Rome and we thought we were going to have to pick up our rental car at the airport (which we dreaded). You mentioned a Kemwel location only 4 blocks away and it worked out perfectly! Even on a Sunday! Plus it was cheaper than any we looked at. We had rented an apartment in Rome from someone else and while the apartment was lovely, we didn't enjoy it near as much due to all of the conveniences that you afforded us. In fact, I left him a note listing the things I left behind in hopes he would leave them for the next tenant...ie detergent, guide books, umbrella...all things you had for us. I am in a rush so I'm rambling but it was just tremendous. The little balcony, the kitchen and everyone being able to get around the house without disturbing anyone else...ALL terrific! Thanks again!!! We will never forget it! If any of your future tenants would like to call or email me about your apartment, feel free! Deb Tien 269 209 5940

We stayed in the Ave. Ternes apartment March 28- 31, 2008. Just lovely and we echo all the positive comments. We found it to be much more spacious for 2 adults and 2 teens than a hotel. It's extremely quiet and after a long, fast day of Paris sights we all slept like the dead. Do purchase food from the vendors right out front, if they are there. Do go to the open air market. And eat as many crepes from street vendors as you can. And with the weak US$ skip the resturants and eat cheese and bread! Enjoy.

71-73 Ave. des Ternes is wonderful! Me and a friend just returned from 9 days in Paris. If you are planning a trip, this is a PERFECT option. First; given the exchange rate of the $ vs. Euro, the apartment makes sense. The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to fix breakfast every day and some dinners, saving LOTS! The location is easy - close to two major metro stops which connect you everyplace, 3-4 blocks from Arc de Triomph, too. Several decent restaurants in the area (they are pricey, though, for mediocre food - you'll pass Le Sud from the metro stop...VERY MEDIOCRE!!!)). The fresh market several blocks down Ave de Ternes to the right, is AMAZING! Plenty of space in the apartment for two adults and maybe a child. I wouldn't do more than 3 people; MAYBE 4 if you're REALLY good friends. Everything was incredibly neat, well organized and efficient. Take Nancy's advice and leave your guide book - there are plenty of resources, maps, brochures, business cards, etc, in the apartment for you to use. The bathroom is excellent - much bigger than I've experienced in other European apts. Tip on laundry: the washer/dryer is convenient for perhaps undergarmets. I wouldn't recommend doing heavier clothing, as it takes a LONG LONG LONG time to dry. Another tip... unless you LOVE museums, be careful buying the museum pass. It's pricey, and you can only use it consecutive days, so once it activates, you MUST utilize it, or waste money (which I did). You can buy it at the FNAC which is a few blocks down to the right. There is a GREAT little cafe/bar just past FNAC, called DADA... very casual, but excellent atmosphere. The building is very clean, and safe,(the neighborhood is very homey - casual) Overall, just a wonderful, and EASY experience!! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION.

We just returned from a 4 night stay at Nancy's place in Paris. My wife and I were in the bedroom and our oversized 15 year old was on the futon couch--all beds were quite comfy. We started each day early and returned back exhausted by 6 in the evening. We brought our favorite coffee and made a full breakfast in house, had lunches out and luxuriated in some sinful gourmet food items and the best french bread(imagine that!)picked up in the local shops for light dinners (we really couldn't handle the late dinner time in Paris). With the weak dollar, Nancy's place was a godsend considering the price and size of european hotel rooms. The place is equipped with everything you might need, though I do recommend you bring the latest guidebook with you as those available in the apartment are dated. Overall, not a glamorous place, but incredibly practical and a true bargain for the budget conscious. I enjoy upscale stays too, however those interested in glamorous will be spending much, much more.

We stayed at Nancy's apartment for 3 nights at the end of our 3 week Europe family vacation. We felt the apartment was a little small for our family of 4 (2 adults, one pre-teen & one teenager). We also felt the apartment could have been cleaner (there was musty smell in the bedroom & the throw rugs & curtains were dirty). The shower door was very funky & if we were not careful water ended up eaisly on the floor. However, via email I let Nancy know of our concerns and she responded back promptly. The location of the apartment could not have been better!! Close to great everything you could possibly want and need.
Owner response:I sent my cleaners over right away but they could not locate anything that smelled musty. The curtains are washed twice a year and my lovely Persian carpets are vaccummed well after each guest and cleaned once a year. (I have to have some excuse to go there twice a year!) She was there the week before I arrived for my semi-annual "spring" cleaning (always at the beginning of August). The shower door is an accordian folding door that only goes half way and you have to make sure all the "folds" are inside the tub when showering but if you don't get them perfect, the entire floor is tile anyway so it does not matter much if a little water gets on it. I have a sponge in there for cleaning up any stray water. I considered taking it down after her comment and hanging a curtain in it's place but the bathroom heater is in the way. I'd rather have a little water on the floor than a fire! I could not think of anything else to do with it except maybe mount a solid piece of shower glass half-way back. I guess you can't please everyone! Nancy

What a pleasure to find a home away from home where we could have the windows wide open to the sweet spring air and hear....NOTHING!!! The peace and quiet at the end of each of our exciting days in Paris was wonderful. Also, we found many restaurants and incredible open air markets within easy walking distance. This apartment is well located, spacious and equipped with everthing we needed. The hairdryer was appreciated as I was uncertain about which of the many adaptors in my kit should be used to make my own dryer viable. The free phone to Canada was a blessing for keeping in touch with the kids at home. Our thanks to you Nancy for sharing your apartment. It made our stay so very relaxing and enjoyable.

Several grocery stores, restaurants, an outdoor market and 2 metros nearby. I can't say enough about how much more enjoyable this was compared to previous hotel stays. The apartment was all that was advertised and much more!!! We had easy access to the airport by Air France bus which stops near the apartment. The entire rental proccess was very pleasant. The proximity of the apartment to the subway, neighberhood markets, and charming restaurants made the experience even more pleasurable. The apartment itself provided all the comforts of home, and was a welcome respite from our daily activites. Over the years, Nancy has not only maintained the excellent level of comfort but has made significant updates and improvements to her apartment. We stayed at Nancy's apartment for a week right after Christmas, and it was wonderful. The place is big enough to suit 2 people extremely comfortably and could even hold 4 adults well. Unfortunately, I was sick for a couple of days while we were there and being in such a quiet and roomy place made that even bearable. She has a TV with a VCR, books, and there is plenty of light in the place. On the days when we did a lot of walking it was a treat to come back to a place that felt more like a home. We will definitely stay there the next time we're in Paris.

We spent a week in the apartment in September, 2005. It was excellent. Nancy has everything you could possibly need there. It is a short walk to the Arch de Triomphe and Metro, and there are plenty of charming restaurants and shops nearby. We will definitely be going back.

Thumbs up to Nancy. I made our reservation quite some time ago and within just days of our final payment being due a family emergency came up. I notified Nancy that I would have to cancel my reservation. I was unsure if I would still be obligated to pay the remainder of my balance. She assured me no and much to my surprise I recieved my full deposit back in just a couple of days. There were no hassles and I reaaly appreciated her positive attitude. I wish I received the same great treatment from 5 Star hotels as I received from Nancy. Thanks again, Shannon

We absolutely loved staying at this Paris apartment! It's in a great location close to the metro (so only a few minutes to the beautiful attractions of Paris), restaurants, street market, and, of course, the delicious boulangerie just a block or so away (yum!). We would definitely rent this apartment again. Also, we'll have to try out the other properties available.

What a wonderful experience it was to rent Nancy's apartment during our Christmas trip to Paris. Everything we needed was there, including lots of information that Nancy provides. A nice neighborhood with a wonderful outside market with lots of delicious food to bring "home" to a warm environment. We are now so spoiled, that a hotel stay seems impossible from now on. We highly recommend a stay there to all!! Chris Paffendorf Martha's Vineyard,MA

Our stay at Nancy's apartment (10/30-11/9) was great! I was there for business at the Palais de Congres, and the apartment is a 5-7 minute walk away. The location was great for sightseeing, too -- just a few minutes' walk to the Arc de Triomphe and a few different metro stations. The apartment itself is lovely -- Nancy really does have everything you might need to plan sightseeing both in and out of Paris, and she's thought of nice details -- like providing wheeled shopping bags for when you go to the market. Having a kitchen on a trip that long was a lifesaver, too! We were there during the Paris riots and, although our families were very worried, we never once felt unsafe in the neighborhood or doubted the security of the building and took only the usual foreign traveler precautions. You will enjoy your stay here!

Me and my wife just spent five (5) nights at Nancy's Paris Apartment (October 2005) and it was fantastic!..The location is prime, walking minutes to the Arc de Triomphe, and the Champs-Elysees. Also very convenient from Charles de Gaulle Airport and the bus shuttle stop from the airport. We have travelled to Paris four times, and the location of the apartment was the best. Immediately outside the front door is a bustling Paris street with all kinds of restaurants, bakeries, fresh food markets, and cafes. A Metro stop is within a 8-10 minute walk. Once inside the apartment, you would not know that you were in the middle of a large city. The apartment is set back and absolutley quiet. The apartment itself is wonderful. A kitchen with all the essentials, a large sitting room with a sofa, table for two, television, CD player. A great experience!!..Michael and Terrie. Boston, MA.
Owner response:You can pull the table out from the wall and fold the other side up to seat four people. Come see for yourself! Nancy
