1880's Carroll Gardens Sunny Studio

We had a wonderful visit in Carroll Gardens. Our rental was clean, cheerful and relaxed. The location is just right for many local activities including shopping, fine and casual dining, exploring and much more. The city is only five or ten mins away, but a world away from the noise and grind of NYC. I wanted to stay forever! The owner was helpful, friendly and easy to deal with. I plan to always use this perfect spot when visiting NYC.

Carroll Gardens Visit

My husband and I just returned from a weekend in Brooklyn, New York where we stayed at this property. We felt the owner has given a very accurate description of the property and that the pictures certainly are just as the studio appears. We were very comfortable here and I loved the sunny exposure when the shutters were open. We live in an older home ourselves and appreciated the restoration of this apartment which still allowed for the retention of many of the 1880's details. We were gifted with sunny, relatively warm weather so we were able to take full advantage of the studio's nearness to places that we wanted to explore. We will certainly be returning to this property in the future.

Excellent place to stay

This apartment is superb. The description and pictures in the listing show and describe the property to a T. It was very clean and well maintained since the property owner is on location. I would recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to visit in the New York City area. The bed is comfy. Lots of room. TV with cable, CD player, DVD player and library of really fun old-time movies. Close to two streets just chock full of eateries, coffee shops, night spots, grocery stores (there is a complete compact kitchen) and just a couple of blocks from the subway which open up the entire five boroughs to you. If you do wish to use the subway, I would suggest that you get the seven day, unlimited metro card, which at this writing is a mere $20. We had used over $10 apiece by the end of the first day; so we would have been much better off getting the unlimited. The street is for the most part quiet at night, certainly MUCH quieter than the place we stayed last time we were in Brooklyn. I only heard voices and traffic noises one night. The owner who lives in the first floor apartment is super nice and oh so helpful. She was a delight. If our kids don't move elsewhere, we will definitely book this place for any future visits.

Loved Brooklyn

This studio really is just like it's billed! Gorgeous wood floors, exposed brick walls, clean and efficient kitchen, and good bathroom. Lots of room in the main room and plenty of clothes storage. The neighborhood could not be better! Literally steps from fabulous restaurants, bars, and shops. Felt very safe in this neighborhood, even late at night. We fell in love with the area and have determined Manhattan is just for sight seeing, Brooklyn is where we wanted to spend our time. We were there during Hurricane Irene and the landlord, Cassie, could not have been more accomodating. She made sure we had water, food, etc. She has renovated this brownstone remarkably, it really is beautiful. Not a single less than perfect thing to say about it! We will stay again.

cool and quiet studio in a great location

My wife and I enjoyed a 7 day stay in this apartment in early June. The Carroll Gardens subway station is two short blocks away and the location between Smith and Court Street is excellent. These two streets offer plenty of choices for getting a bite to eat or a drink. After a days wandering around in Manhattan we would recommend getting off the (F) subway line at Bergen Street and finding a place along the way home for a cocktail to finish the day off. "The Clover Club" was our favourite, but "Sample This Inc" was also very fun. The apartment itself is great and the area it is located in is very quiet. The cute little kitchenette is workable but we never used because of all the great restaurants nearby. We had a few warm days while we were there so the air conditioning was very nice to come home to. The bed was very comfortable and the apartment is nicely furnished. I would definitely recommend this place to any of my friends and would love to visit again.

BEAUTIFUL, COMFORTABLE, STYLISH AND IDEALLY LOCATED

We love this place! The owners are wonderful, the apartment is beautiful and the neighborhood is among the best that New York has to offer. We honestly would not stay anywhere else in NYC. Exposed brick, high cielings, beautiful woodwork, and lots of natural light combine to create a truly warm, vibrant and inviting space. And, all the conveniences are here: wi-fi, tv, nice lighting, comfortable bed, kitchenette, remote controlled entry. The neighborhood (Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill) is vibrant, fun, and has the full array of restaurants, shops, bakeries, a cinema, and easy access to transportation. Book it if you can. This place is a jewel.

I was so pleased to find such a charming place to stay in the city. We loved the cozy ambiance of the apartment and its spaciousness. It was great to be in a quiet family neighborhood yet close to a variety of fabulous restaurants and shops -- only a few blocks from the subway and access to the city. I enjoyed my stay here, and appreciated the helpfulness of the owner. I will definitely do it again.
