Enjoy a bit of Low Country luxury and new world connectivity in this renovated three-bedroom, three bath Sparrow Pond Cottage.
Locally owned, this home was one of the first renovated Sparrow Pond Cottages and my personal residence for the last ten years. My goal was to have a place where old school and new school meet. So bring your favorite Swing, Beach Music, Classic Rock, C & W or Hip Hop and have a dance on the ample deck or antique heart pine flooring, salvaged and remilled from the old barns and textile mills of South Carolina. Feel the warmth of the hearth created from an antebellum facade and hand carved rosettes complimented by newly milled decorative moldings and thick wood, door and window casing.
The up-to-date floor plan incorporates both contemporary furnishings with samples from my personal collections of golf antiquities, Low Country lifestyle and other treasures from local estates, Europe and elsewhere. One of my favorite places to serve and prepare a good meal for my children and friends, the open floor plan, keeps you in the conversation with samples from my martini shaker collection within a short reach if your taste buds or the summer heat demand satisfaction with your favorite libation.
As a long time Charleston resident and Kiawah neighbor I invite you into one of my favorite homes located along a quiet shaded cul-de-sac just a short walk to the beach, Cougar Point Golf Course, the Strawmarket, and the West Beach Tennis Center, this cottage is one of the few on Kiawah with its own neighborhood swimming pool privileges.
And, oh yes, Charleston. If you are so inclined to leave our island paradise for a trip to town, whether you are familiar with the area or not, I am happy to refer you to some of my favorite stops from Janice's sweet grass basket stand at the Post Office to the vibrant restaurants, night spots and historical venues that characterize this place we call home - Charleston.

The owner wasbvery accommodating to us. The villa is great. Lots of space and comfortable. We took our young children + 2 teenagers as babysitters. We each had our own bathroom which was great. Plenty of space and very clean. The owner was so nice that when I left my boys' blankets, he went out to get them and had them to me within 2 days (on a holiday weekend!). Forgot; very close to pool and beach!
Recommended for:Pet owners, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Dennis worked with us in planning our first Kiawah holiday, planned for mid-April. We chose his property because it was dog friendly. Unfortunately, our dog suffered a health setback and we needed to cancel. Dennis was more than understanding and accommodating. We look forward to renting at Sparrow Pond in the future based on this experience.
