We are located only four miles from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park This is where you can view the steam vents and explore lava tubes. For more volcano information click on the link to our web site below.

In Volcano Village about three minutes away you can be enjoying one of our many charming restaurants, shops or art galleries. Thirty minutes in the opposite direction heading South of Volcano is one of the Big Island of Hawaii's best beaches, Punalu'u Black sand beach. It is known for its green sea turtles and beautiful black sand.
There is no where else you will find a community as charming and creative as Volcano Village. Hanging around the quaint Volcano Village restaurants and chatting with the locals is a great way to see and feel the Island aloha spirit. There is a mix of artists, musicians, writers and more. Be sure to make it to the local farmers market held every Sunday morning.
If you love orchids there is an orchid growing warehouse just down the highway called Akatsuka Orchid Gardens. They have some of the world’s rarest and most unusual orchids. A feast of color for the eyes.

At Richardson Bay 30 minutes from the house in Hilo There are beaches with great snorkeling. This area is great for bringing the kids. There are a lot more things to do and see, there are water falls, botanical gardens, lava flows into the ocean (when active) and great restaurants.

I can provide you with more info on all that and much more when you book your stay with us. As an added bonus there are no mosquitoes in this area because of it's a cooler climate.

Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2008

I've been a business owner for an ever growing Residential and Commercial cleaning company for the last 10 years. I have cleaned other owners vacation rentals during that time and decided that was where I needed to invest my savings. I'm adventurous and I love life!

Why the Owner Chose Volcano

I love this area of the Big Island. The temperature is perfect most of the time. The idea that the land around here is new and more land is being created all the time is fascinating to me. I could watch the lava flow for hours. I also can't get enough of snorkeling on the islands. The sea life here is absolutely amazing. I'm not sure which I love more.
Come and experience it for yourself. I will be happy to share the wonders of the Big Island with you so that you will go home knowing you have had the best vacation of your life.

The Unique Benefits of this House

I think the best thing I like about the house is the peace and quiet. The variety of birds and their songs are so beautiful. Mornings are the best sitting on the lanai drinking tea. The variety of plants and flowers will amaze you as they do me as I learn what will grow in this area! Something is always blooming. And the stargazing OMG the stargazing!

We had a fabulous time! Our children are old enough to appreciate things in a different way now and will remember this trip vividly. The volcano was most agreeable and gave us a wonderful show of the power of the earth this visit! Your place was a quiet refuge with everything we could have wanted. Thank you Tracy!

The Big Island is just full of adventures, and we have enjoyed so many of them, along with staying in this beautiful secluded house. Some highlights for our family were: * Lava viewing by moonlight at Kalapana * Star gazing on Mauna Kea above the clouds * Lights out in the Thurston Lava Tube * Tidal Pool swimming at Kapoho * The Kilauea Iki trail across the crater * Thermal pool swimming at Ahalamii and we could go on and on. Our dream will be to return some day to explore more of paradise. Mahalo Tracy!

As we sit on the lanai, enjoying our last cup of coffee, and the precious morning sunlight before packing the last few things to leave, we are grateful for having spent three peaceful and restful days in this rainforest sanctuary. The solitude here has been just what we needed, after a six week period of difficulty and grief following our daughter's sudden passing. The accommodations are outstanding, the location is wonderful, and the quiet has allowed us to sleep restfully every night. A few Pina Colada's in the blender, outings to the park and Hilo, cozy evenings under a fleecy throw with T.V. or a good book-just what we needed! We had hoped for the weather to be a bit better, but no matter, we head for warmer climes now. Thank you for three days of peace, rest, comfort and quiet. It has been nourishing.

Mahalo nui for sharing such a magnificent and inviting piece of your paradise with us! We found ourselves immediately comfortable and relaxed by all the amenities and the wonderful set up provided for us. We were able to completely soak in the entrancing beauty of the scenery so perfectly framed in the picture like windows throughout the house. Our stay here has been that of a fantasyland like vacation with explorations not only of our inner peace, but of the breathtaking views and the waters of South Point, the green sands, the fabulous tide pools of Kapoho. (Thanks for the map!) And the mesmerizing encounter between Pele and her water loving sister watching from Kalapana. Needless to say, our stay here has been perfect and we send a big mahalo to you both!
