Volcano house description

~~~~~LOOK BELOW FOR A LINK TO SEE VIDEO AND VIRTUAL TOUR OF THE ROOM TO THE LEFT~~~~~
'The house was nice and clean. Lots of extras which we appreciated borrowing: ice chest, flashlights, umbrellas, re-usable tote bags. Loved the extra warm and cozy blankets'.
This house (Built in 2003) is located in one of the last high-altitude rain forests in the U.S. centrally located, near the village of Volcano (altitude approx. 3600 ft) four miles from the entrance of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park in the heart of the Big Island of Hawaii. Only 30 minutes from Hilo and 2 hours from Kona .
The house is decorated with island art and comfortable seating areas. Your every need will be met. Enjoy creating your meals in our well equipped, well lit kitchen or dine out at one of the many restaurants in Volcano Village or inside the Volcanoes National Park. From fine dining to casual there's something for everyone's taste and budget. Enjoy a glass of wine in the evening while gazing at the immense star filled sky or the romantic outside lighted ferns from the floor to ceiling windows in the living room. Cuddle up in comfort in the living room & watch a movie using the Roku Streaming Player or listen to any number of music channels from the satellite TV or your own iPod or iPhone connected to the stereo system. Then enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep in our luxurious beds. This is where you will find a truly peaceful, relaxing getaway.
In the morning have your coffee on the lanai (deck) with the sounds of the local birds playing in the surrounding fern forest while you consider your days adventure from the numerous list of options provided in our 10 page introduction email.
This house consists of a downstairs bedroom with queen size bed, spacious living room with cathedral ceiling and full sized convertible sofa, complete kitchen and a tiled bathroom with a luxurious spa-size tub with private views into the forest.
This property is very private. You can not see any neighbors due to the very dense tropical rain forest.
There is a roomy upstairs bedroom with a New (2012) Queen sized iComfort Sleep System by Serta bed and a futon including 4 inches of full size memory foam to use any where you wish. The upstairs bedroom is accessed from the living room by way of a securely fastened ships ladder.
We are located only four miles from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park This is where you can view the steam vents and explore lava tubes. Some are located closer to Hilo which are all part of the same series of tubes carved out 500-700 years ago. I can provide you with information on visiting the best lava tubes on the island. For more volcano information click on the link to our web site below.
In Volcano Village about three minutes away you can be enjoying one of our many charming restaurants, shops or art galleries. Volcanoes National Park and surrounding areas have many beautiful hikes to choose from. Don’t forget to visit the Volcano Winery and take in a round of golf at the Volcano Golf & Country Club.
The Old Town of Hilo with its Historic Tsunami Museum and bay front shopping, glorious parks and waterfalls and snorkeling beaches are a short thirty minute drive North of Volcano. Thirty minutes in the opposite direction heading South of Volcano is one of the Big Island of Hawaii's best beaches, Punalu'u Black sand beach. It is known for its green sea turtles and beautiful black sand.
There is no where else you will find a community as charming and creative as Volcano Village. Hanging around the quaint Volcano Village restaurants and chatting with the locals is a great way to see and feel the Island aloha spirit. There is a mix of artists, musicians, writers and more. Be sure to make it to the local farmers market held every Sunday morning.
If you love orchids there is an orchid growing warehouse just down the highway called Akatsuka Orchid Gardens. They have some of the world’s rarest and most unusual orchids. A feast of color for the eyes. You may see them blooming in our gardens depending on the time of year.
At Richardson Bay 30 minutes from the house in Hilo There are beaches with great snorkeling. This area is great for bringing the kids. There are a lot more things to do and see, there are water falls, botanical gardens, lava flows into the ocean (when active) and great restaurants.
I can provide you with more info on all that and much more when you book your stay with us. As an added bonus there are no mosquitoes in this area because of it's a cooler climate.
Your host is located near-by. Should you have any special needs or requests, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.
                    Great place for those wishing to explore Volcano Nat'l Park. It is also good place to bird watch and stay in during rain, however it does pay to be adventurous and go out in rain and return to this pleasant retreat for dinner and to relax.
                    Wonderful house! Don't hesitate to stay here. I wouldn't advice the steps to the upper bedroom for older people. The house is quiet. We never heard a peep from anyone. We didn't spend a lot of extra time in the house as we were out exploring everyday. It is very close to the National Park. Also very close to the black sand beach where we were able to observe sea turtles. The bed & breakfast in Volcano Village is an excellent place for dinner. We didn't use the kitchen in the house other than for coffee but it appeared to have everything we would need. The house was very clean and cared for. I would stay in it again in a heartbeat!
                    All instructions on arrival were great! We had no problems finding this treasure of a home. We awoke our first morning there for the quick ride up to the Jaggar museum for sunrise. We actually went twice for sunrise. Hiking in and around the NP was great. A real treasure was the road along the coast (130/132), we drove down to the light beacon and walked around the flows there-spectacular! Thanks for all the extra books and resources. Not that we've ever used one before, but could not figure out the Roku Player and did not see any instructions in home for it. If we are back in area again, definitely we will keep this home in mind.
                    Great place! A lush rainforest forest, well maintained accomodations and comfortable. Located in a fascinating part of Hawaii for those interested in things beyond the beach although we did visit a fantastic snorkel area down the coast. The owner offers a comprehensive list of nearby and island-wide activities that met all our needs and responded quickly to any questions we had while there. Highly recommended.
                    My husband and I had the most relaxing 4 night stay in early December. Perfect place to stay to explore the Volcano National Park and black sand beach (we saw lots of sea turtles!). Watching Kilauea at sunset was breathtaking. The chalet layout with tall ceilings and lots of windows is amazing. We felt so cozy yet had more than enough space. The outdoor lights create a soft rainforest glow that makes you never want to leave. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all of our own meals. Breakfast out on the lanai complete with some Kona coffee was the best way to start each day. We found the guidebooks and binder of information to be helpful. This place is absolutely the most private home away from home we have ever stayed in. Tracy was extremely friendly and prompt in her response when booking. I would highly recommend this property to anyone! Mahalo!
                    My review title says it all. The property was just as described, and immaculately maintained. The kitchen was well stocked. Once the kids got the hang of the ladder to the loft (only took a couple of times up and down), it was the highlight of the place for them. The highlight (one of the many) for us was all of the great info Tracy put together on what to visit and when. It really made our short stay as efficient as possible -- thank you! Finally, 1 mile from the volcano in a rainforest. You can't beat that! Highly recommend.
                    The house was very clean and in a great location for visiting the national park. We were able to come home for dinner and then go back in the dark to see the crater glowing! The photos and descriptions are accurate. The supermarket is about 30 minutes away so some planning is helpful. Just know in advance that the refrigerator is small and there is no dishwasher. However, the kitchen is well stocked. Having access to the internet is handy. My son loved the loft. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
                    This is a charming, clean and delightful location for all your Big Island adventures. The house is clean and very private with a locked gate, and a nice neighborhood to run around or walk. It is delightfully close to Volcano National Park and was also close enough to Hilo to enjoy that part of the island. Tracy provided excellent sightseeing and restaurant tips, and we loved the Kilauea Lodge for breakfast and Thai restaurant for dinner. There are amazing hikes close by in the Park and we also were amazed at the Kilauea Caverns of Fire, which was a hidden gem. The bathroom in the house is clean and with a beautiful open shower/tub that makes you feel like you are in a wonderful natural setting. We highly recommend the Rainforest Retreat!
                    Wonderful place to stay so you are near Volcano Nat'l Park. The home is beautiful with a nice deck and the floor to ceiling windows are amazing...yet you have all the privacy you need. Our kids loved the big bed and space in the loft...their own kid-zone space, and we all enjoyed the WiFi. The owner was very good to with, and offers a very nice place for such a reasonable price.
                  Owner info
                  Year Purchased: 2008
                  About the owner: I've been a business owner for an ever growing Residential and Commercial cleaning company for the last 10 years. I have cleaned other owners vacation rentals during that time and decided that was where I needed to invest my savings. I'm adventurous and I love life!
                  Why the Owner Chose Volcano:
                  I love this area of the Big Island. The temperature is perfect most of the time. The idea that the land around here is new and more land is being created all the time is fascinating to me. I could watch the lava flow for hours. I also can't get enough of snorkeling on the islands. The sea life here is absolutely amazing. I'm not sure which I love more. Come and experience it for yourself. I will be happy to share the wonders of the Big Island with you so that you will go home knowing you have had the best vacation of your life.
                  The Unique Benefits at this House:
                  I think the best thing I like about the house is the peace and quiet. The variety of birds and their songs are so beautiful. Listen for them at the end of the video. Mornings are the best sitting on the lanai drinking tea. The variety of plants and flowers will amaze you as they do me as I learn what will grow in this area! Something is always blooming. And the stargazing OMG the stargazing!
