I stayed at the Colombus apartement for about 8 nights end dec2010 thru early jan2011 with my wife and 3 children. We loved the location of the apartment, very well located for a first stay at NYC, with easy access to the subway, to some of the major attractions (Central Park, MoMA, etc) and to convenient food stores. The bedroom is large, with a comfortable bed. Having said that, we were very disappointed with the apartment. Staying in an appartment for a family is clearly a way to save some money on lunches but there were no chairs or table to sit for a breakfast or dinner. It appears that the owner/tenant who lives in this apartment, moves somewhere else when there is an opportunity to rent it. But all his personal stuff remained in the apartment so we had very limited space in bedroom/bathroom furnitures to place our clothes and personal items. We rented it for 6, but we where glad to be only 5... There was remaining food in the fridge when we checked-in, trashes were not empty (ok, this was just paper...). We had bad time sleeping (although the bed is very good and that I will not wake up even if there is a truck entering the bedroom): we heard every tiny noise made in the above apartment; hearing a mobile in the vibe mode, we checked ours, but the sound came from above. The owner should really makes some improvements such as repairing all the broken parts (e.g. many power outlets did not work, loosed parts on doors) or replacing old / dirty stuff. And definitely put a table with chairs as the main room is wide enough. Overall, we do not recommend this place.

I stayed at the Hells Kitchen apartment in September 2009. I have just rechecked through my emails to find the details as i have a mate going to New York shortly. I am recommending this place to him and would recommend this place to anyone else......it was a neat, central comfortable 2 br apartment at a good price. The service was great and Marys was very friendly. We traveled with our 2 young children (1y.o. and 2y.o.) and it was perfect. There was heaps of dishes, the heating was on and of course we put something in front of the hot pipes with the kids so it was not a problem. We even extended our stay which inconvenience Marys but she could arrange accommodation the person who was expecting to move into where we were staying. Overall a very pleasant stay ion a fantastic city!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

the description online is basically correct. we were one of the first guests (5 adults) so at the time there was no AC (but didn't need it in April) and not enough dishes/cups. Nice place overall. watch out for the VERY hot pipes in several areas (danger for young kids). also at the time no internet and the TV set up was a little funky. EXCELLENT convenient location for many reasons. Restaurants every where, subway close, safe area. Ivy is very nice and easy to work with.
Owner response:This is the Times Square - Hell's Kitchen apartment. As he said, it was April, so the AC's were out. There are 2 AC's already installed, and enough dishes for 5 people. The hot pipes are the building heating system, but off until late fall. There is wireless Internet, even when he was here... I guess I missed to inform him about the connection and he failed to ask. Thanks

I rented the Columbia Circle 2 bdrm apartment w/ Genba online last week (after calling Genba staff directly to ask questions) and 2 days later I was emailed by Danny with Genba Group that a Travel Agent booked the apartment and our rental was canceled. I had spent 6 or more hours researching rentals and I am very frustrated and annoyed with genba for wasting my time. My family who was also taveling with me was going to rent 2 studios with Genba but they will no longer use them. My reccomendation...do not use them...you might get screwed like we did.
Owner response:I never got contacted by Genba or any travel agent for that matter. I'm assuming this was a scam because now that I'm reading my guestbook is when I realized about this supposed rental. Please, be cautious when making a reservation and try to work directly with the owners. Hope everything turned ok for you. Marys

I stayed at the Columbus Circle apartment with my wife and 2 kids (21 and 17 years old). It is a nice and quiet apartment and it is very well located. However, the best was the simple and transparent deal done directly with the owner. We had absolutely no inconveniences and everything was as agreed. I recommend it.
