What a wonderful lake house! I will never drive to Galveston now that I've visited Eagles Nest. Beautfiul back yard with grill and table/chairs on patio - we ate outside every meal. I spent hours in the hammock listening to the ducks and waves and relaxing. You only need to bring your clothes and food - condiments/seasonings/coffee all provided. Tons of games/dvds/puzzles/air hockey/foosball. Kayaks provided along with life jackets and water shoes. Vicki and Tom are the perfect hosts. I highly recommend you check their home out for your next gathering.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We wanted to do something special to celebrate my boyfriend's 30th birthday and what better way to celebrate than a weekend on the lake?! We began our search for the right place and when we found Eagle's Nest we knew it was the one. The owner Vicki is wonderful to work with! All of the details were ironed out before we arrived Thursday afternoon. The house itself is even larger than the online pictures give it credit for. We were blown away by the size and quality of the place. The kitchen area is large and we were easily able to cook for everyone. There is also a grill available on the back deck that we made good use of. The boat dock is directly behind the house. We brought a ski boat and it fit nicely in the lift. The view of the lake from the back is stunning and very peaceful. We slept ten people in the house comfortably and everyone felt they had their own space. The garage is equipped with air hockey and foosball tables and there are board games in the living room to keep all entertained. Overall I would highly recommend this location if you are looking for a vacation spot on Lake Conroe. It's a beautiful house with a wonderful owner and we have added it to our list of places to return on a regular basis.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/3

Vicki, we had a great time, just like everyone else on the reviews, we were amazed on how nice the property was and how well stocked the cabinets were with everyday items (coffee, sugar, etc...) you pretty well think of everything. We are looking forward to our next stay their, another item you should know the neighbors were great, thanks again- JohnRecommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My family and I had a great time at this place. The home is wonderful and loaded with everything you could possibly need. Plenty of room to just relax and enjoy. The ONLY thing that was disappointing was that the outside grill and fire pit were in unusable condition. We were so looking forward to grilling and eating on the back patio but weren't able to. Other than that, everything was perfect.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: I'm so happy you enjoyed the house and were able to relax and enjoy your family time. So sorry the grill chose your stay to go out. The last time it was used, our guest grilled 57 catfish caught right off the boat dock! Thanks for letting us know about the grill and we will replace it before this weekend. Come back soon!

I just want to thank you for such a wonderful time. Our Families had such a great time and the kids had smiles all weekend on their faces. Your home/property is absolutely AMAZING. We were able to pull the pontoon boat up to the slip and anchored our 28ft boat just in front of the boat dock. The location of the home, the size of back yard, the kayaks (which everyone enjoyed) you name it, your home was PERFECT! And your neighbors friendly as can be as well. We will for sure be back and have already recommended your property to others.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

What a great waterfront location in Lake Conroe. We spent most of our time on the covered deck enjoying the views of the Lake Conroe’s open waters and beach island. The house is spotlessly clean and well appointed with just about everything you could need. There was lots of open space and sitting areas. You could tell that this house was furnished with vacationing needs in mind. Foosball, Air Hockey, Kayaks, Fishing Poles, Board Games, Puzzles, DVD's, WiFi were all supplied and kept everyone entertained. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the eagles nest lake retreat.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

I thought the home owners would have a hard time competing with the great VRBO properties we rented in Hawaii, but they certainly delivered. The house is everything the other reviewers have said, and more. I could have stayed on the boat dock for our entire trip. My children and grandchildren had a wonderful weekend also--a very kid friendly place.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

What a wonderful place to spend the weekend with your girlfriends! Very peaceful and quiet. The house was exactly as described and has plenty of room. Nicely laid out so bedrooms are away from the main part of the house. Great views of the lake and it's activities. Highly recommend. Vicki was great to work with and very accomodating. We look forward to going back!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We enjoyed this lake house immensely. I have stayed at several lake houses and was pleasantly surprised at how modern, well furnished and comfortable this place was. It has ample parking in the front if you're pulling a boat, a huge yard in back for playing games with the kids, a garage that has been converted to a game room with a foozball and air hockey table, nice sized rooms with lots of comfortable beds, a large family meeting area and a large covered boat dock. It felt like home down to the granite counter tops, comfortable decor and nice fixtures. Also I really appreciated that both the house and the grounds were in excellent shape with fresh paint and maintained landscaping. We brought a boat and caught lots of crappie and several nice catfish off the dock. Nice place to bring the kids and relax. Would highly recommend and will go again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: We don't post front yard photos, the address or the map for security purposes. We know that is important to travelers so if you are a serious inquirer, we are happy to give you that info. We love our neighbors and want to respect there privacy. We know those of you who may be interested in our home will understand. We LOVE sharing our home with families, church retreats, corporate travelers, Snow Birds, Senior Travelers...what a joy it is to have such a great home and be able to allow others to enjoy a relaxing home away from home.
Why the Owner Chose Willis:
We always dreamed of having a retreat camp...when 'The Eagle's Nest' fell into our lap, we could not have imagined how our retreat camp idea would turn out to be a retreat home. We bought the house from family with the idea of renting it and eventually retiring here...but God had other plans...and His plans are always so much better!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Besides all of the already mentioned benefits, the lake house is laid out where the bedrooms are on one end, the family room with the television is in the middle, and the kitchen, dining and large game room/den area are on the far end. Several guests have commented that we need to let people know more about the layout, because it is so functional. When the football game is going on the big TV in the living room, the rest of the family (not so interested in the noisy TV) have a great place to gather and play games, cook, eat...just enjoy being together. Oh! And we have converted the garage into a game room for foosball and airhockey. Other benefits are a large back yard with shade trees, a boat dock to fish and enjoy the water and the sunsets.
