Cottonwood, a 150 year old Victorian, was once the home of a prominent farm family. Situated on the shore of Lake Champlain it has 500 feet of sandy shallow lakefront. The spacious porch boasts sweeping views of the lake, the Adirondack Mountains, and beautiful Addison County.
Cottonwood has been completely renovated leaving all the grandeur intact. Although the kitchen has been modernized with all the expected conveniences, the rest of the house remains as it was over 100 years ago. The original claw foot tub is in the main bathroom, and there are also two half baths. It has 3 bedrooms, two queens and one full. Unique plaster moldings grace the 11 ft ceilings. Rare chestnut woodwork throughout the house makes it a step back in time.
Three large living areas are separated by large wooden sliding doors to allow for privacy. Two of the living rooms are equipped with satellite television.
Outside, a spacious lawn allows for relaxing views, gaming or barbequing. The Bridge Restaraunt (a great family style restaurant)is within walking distance if you prefer to eat some of your meals out. West Addison General Store which is a mile and a half up the road has gas, a good line of groceries, a deli, and some of the best pizza around. Goodie's Snack Bar (also right up the road) is famous for it's soft ice cream. The Champlain bridge to New York State is right next to the property for easy access to Lake George, Lake Placid, or The Adirondacks. Locally, Vermont Sky Diving Adventures which is also in Addison will give a thrill to the adventurous person in your group by throwing them out of a perfectly good plane ( with a parachute of course). For great golfing The Basin Harbor Club is a short 20 minute drive from the property.
