Nearby are great restaurants and shops like The Blue Ribbon Bakery and Murray Cheese Shop. Spend you days exploring The Village while taking in what it is like to live in the best part of Manhattan.
The apartment is on the fifth floor of a old, pre-war, walk up building and features exposed brick walls and a bedroom window that faces a tree-filled backyard. Everything you need will be provided from linens and towels to a computer with high speed internet. Two subway stations are within two blocks and a bus stop is right across the street.
* iMac computer with WiFi high speed internet.
* double bed in bedroom and double sofa-bed in living room
* great location at the intersection Greenwich Village and SoHo
* combination of neighborhoods provides access to many restaurants, shops, bars & clubs
* amazing views with rooftop access
Things to know:
*The building was built in the early 1900's and the common areas show their age. The unit however was last remodeled in 2001.
*The unit is on the 5th floor of a walk up building with 4 flights of stairs and no elevator.
*Though charming, it is compact at about 350 sq/ft.

There were definitely some good things about this apartment and everyone’s priorities vary, but in general I don't think the average person would be comfortable here. First, Viet was wonderful to work with. He was responsive and flexible and helpful with my request to drop my suitcase off early. He also proactively offered to waive a fee when we had a little trouble coordinating to get me the keys. As for the apt, the location couldn't be better. Right in the heart of the West Village and close to multiple subway lines. My poor review, however, comes primarily from the lack of cleanliness. Viet said there was a problem with their regular housekeeper and the replacement was not up to par. I would agree. But other things such as heavily stained bedroom & kitchen curtains as well as a stained shower curtain left me feeling the whole place was unclean and had seen better days. The building is quite shabby, which is out of the owners’ control, and it would be fine if the apt was comfortable. But the apt was quite shabby as well. Perhaps some fine tuning would bring this apt back to the state the earlier reviews experienced. To be fair, when I expressed my strong discomfort with the apartment, Viet did ask me what we could do to resolve the issue but I chose to leave instead because there was nothing that would have made me comfortable. I use VRBO for most of my travels and this did not even come close to an average experience or appropriate condition.

Great value for amazing location, we felt like being locals by getting into an apartment rather than some hotel. The place is small and very cosy, it was all the space we needed on holidays. View from the top was unbelievable, a definite perk for hiking up 5 flights of stairs to the apartment. The place is quiet for a New York city. Viet and Liezl were very prompt and accommodating. We would definitely go back and let our friends know about it. Joe & Iza from Calagary, Canada

I was very happy when I rented this apartment online. Everything seemed to be very nice and very New Yorker. Once I got to the apartment, I found out about the power of good pictures. The place wasn't that clean, there wasn't too much light and it was really small. I had a fair good time there, but it just wasn't what I expected for the money I paid. The kitchen was tiny, there weren't all the things you need to cook. There wasn't even place to make a salad! The table was very small and the distribution wasn't that great. The apartment is very old, which was ok, but it didn't look like the owner takes care of it. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't what I expected either. I won't come back. At least the views from the terrace were as nice as on the pics!

Very good place to visit NY, lovely apartment, wonderful view / rooftop and MOSTLY Viet & Liezl are great. You can really go confidently. We really appreciated their reaction when we were stranded during 10 days / Volcano eruption. Yes, really "great"... We hope to come back soon !

We stayed in this apartment for one week in may 2010 with 2 people. We really enjoyed it. The computer is a big plus as well as the quiet area, although directly located at 6th Ave and Houston St. The owners are very friendly and helpful and really want you to enjoy your stay. It is only 2-3 minutes walk away from W 4th St subway station, and not much longer to Broadway. I would definately take this apartment again. Here's the best part: You have access to the roof with a wonderful view over Greenwich Village, 6th Ave and the Empire State Building. Thanks a lot Viet and Liezl. This was really nice. All the best from Germany. Hannes

great loft and great visit! staying in the lower west village in this loft is a great location for food and boutiques. its a 5 minute walk to broadway and tons of shops.. not to mention its a 10 minute walk to little italy and chinatown. The loft was cozy and comfortable and even had internet(which came in handy on planning the next day when we got in to the loft to sleep) HIGHLY RECOMMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO EXPERIENCE EVERYTHING LOWER MANHATTAN HAS TO OFFER WITHOUT A HUGE PRICE TAG..

This was our first trip to New York and we were keen to find a suitable apartment as alternative to staying in a hotel. The apartment was very clean and well furnished. Access to the internet enabled us to keep in touch with friends and family which was a huge asset, we were able to provide daily updates of our adventures. The location of the apartment was ideal, Greenwich Village is a lovely place to stay and very convenient for subways etc. Would highly recommend this property - all arrangements went very smoothly and the advice and information provided before the trip was extremely helpful.

I stayed at the apartment on Bleeker street for six nights, and enjoyed it immensely!! The apartment was so cute, and fixed up nicely. Everything from the desktop computer (a luxury to be able to leave my laptop at home), to DVDs left there for guests, to snacks in the fridge, I felt like I lived in New York which made the trip more comfortable and fun. Highly recommended. I would stay again for sure.
