Great cabin, very private and cozy

We had a great time staying at Dominique's Cottage, it is very private with trees all around. The owner is on site next door and available, but not intrusive. We enjoyed walking in the woods, picking berries, and visiting the nearby sculpture garden. Roche Harbor is walking distance but down a long hill, also worth visiting. The cabin is very nicely decorated, has good amenities and very pleasant rooms. Having a washer and dryer was great! The kitchen had all needed utensils, lots of condiments and supplies. We bought food in Friday Harbor but didn't need to buy seasonings or condiments. While we rented a car, we also used a taxi (Classic Cabs) when we didn't want to worry about the parking in Friday Harbor. With the good taxi service and Roche Harbor nearby, having a car would be optional. Regarding activities, a lot of them are based in Friday Harbor, there are a few that go out of Roche Harbor. One of the best things we did was driving down to Lime Kiln Park, and then to the lavender farm farther down the coastal road. On the drive back we could see the tour boats gathering off the shore. We found a look-out with parking (just south of Lime Kiln), and followed a path down to the bluffs. There we spent almost an hour watching the orcas play only a couple of hundred yards away, as good a view as most of the tour boats and for free! Another nice thing was having a camp fire in the back yard and roasting marshmallows, check with the owner first to make sure it is OK (there might be a burn restriction in force). Our boys (11 and 16) enjoyed the cabin, but for very young children I'd suggest keeping them downstairs. There is a nice bedroom downstairs, we used that and let the boys do the stair climbing. The cabin has stairs at both entrances. It was a great stay and I am happy to recommend it!

Beautiful property. It is clean, beautifully decorated and has wonderful amenities. This cottage has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. I loved that we were walking distance to Roche Harbor and in a good area if you wanted to go out for a run. I would recommend this place to family and friends.

We invited another couple to explore and enjoy San Juan Island. Dominque's Cottage in Roche Harbor was great! Walking distance from Roche Harbor, Kayaking, Mopeding and great dining. Very comfortable and relaxing. Highly recommended.

This cottage is in an ideal location. I loved the fact we were close to Roche Harbor - walking distance. I loved the fact it had all the wonderful amenities, but still had the wonderful cottage feel. I was here with friends for a Girls Weekend and it was absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend this cottage to families, friends, and Girls Getaways alike!

The listing was accurate and the cottage was even better than the photos reflected. The place was extremely clean and well maintained. The owner was helpful and reponded to each of my questions promptly and I will for sure look into staying at this property in the future. The location is perfect in regarding to walking to Roche Harbor, the sculpture park and exploring the area. Our group LOVED the cottage and we look forward to going back to this cottage in the near future!!!
