Hi Kim, We had 5 gals in your house and we all loved it – of course, while everyone else was socked in with fog at the coast, we enjoyed the sunshine on the deck(s). That’s one reason I wanted to be out in ‘the valley’. The floor plan was great for meals and just gathering together. I promise to tell all my friends about your great vacation home.

We are all in awe at the tranquility, peacefulness and beauty of this home. We cannot stop talking about the breathtaking views. Incredible! The birds singing all day long. The trees all start to move and sway back and forth with the wind during the day and it actually sounds like ocean waves - in all my travels I have never heard this before in the woods. Amazing. My husband and I are in tra la land and feel as though we are on our honeymoon. That's how great our last 2 days have been. Logan and Shelby do NOT want to leave and want to live here. All they keep talking about is living here in Carmel Valley. Now I too agree with them, hands down. Morgan loves it too. Perfect yard for her. She is a bit scared of the hillside into the woods, since she slipped on leaves (it was hilarious) so she actually has decided to just hang out in the shade on the cold cement next to my legs, follow the kids around or play a bit of fetch. Just checking in with you that we are all doing just great......too great.....I don't want to leave and it's only been 2 days with a month to go. Sincerely, Martha

Hi Kim Happy New Year to you and your family. We had a wonderful time as always at your home. We notice the new grill and it was nice having the tree up with the kids. We saw Monica the day we were leavening it was great to meet her. I would have emailed sooner we all ended up at one time or another over New Year's with the flu. We are doing better now. Hi Kim, We had a great week at La Rancheria. We played several rounds of golf. I was stationed on the 8th hole at PB and watched a lot of great players go by. Your house is beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay there. It was quiet, the view was gorgeous. Your location was outstanding for commuting to Carmel. Thank you very much. Great...we would like to reserve for next year too. Same time, from 2/21/11, Monday, thru 3/31/11, Thursday. Let us know of deposit info. We love Carmel but honestly could not afford to purchase therein; we have rented 2 homes in Carmel By the Sea. However Carmel Valley we have fallen in love with but are unaware of current real estate values. Will check out Garland Ranch on Tuesday with Millie. Cheers! Karen

August 2009 Hi Kim: We had a lovely time in Carmel Valley last week. Your home provided us a wonderful, much needed retreat. We so enjoyed hanging out upstairs basking in the sunlight and taking in the views that we rarely got out of the house to do anything until afternoon! Mark got a lot of writing done (he's working on a novel), I indulged in my hobby of jigsaw puzzles and Aaron read and played his Wii. Take care, Jackie

Dear Kim, Thanks for your note. We enjoyed our stay quite thoroughly. Your place was perfect for our trip (lots of hiking at Garland Ranch), and the mountain evenings on the deck were fabulous. The only significant problem we had(waste plumbing) was promptly remedied by Monica and the plumber the same day of our request for help. What a wonderful home you have! The views from your living room and master bedroom were just beautiful. The location of the home could not been better for us, my brother loves to hike so he was hiking at Garland Park everyday. I went once with my mom and we had a great time. All in all your home was a true delight for many reasons. The kitchen was great had everything we could want, we ended up cooking dinners most nights. The weather could not have been better, sunny and 60. We ended up calling Monica and asking if we could extend our stay one more night. She said that would be fine and you would be able to work that out with our sec. dep. I hope that was ok? Thanks again for everything. We would love to come again next year!! Dear Kim, I was so behind at work when we returned last Tuesday that I hadn't yet turned my attention to THANKING YOU for the wonderful, memorable stay in your lovely home. We had lived for 2 years in Santa Cruz, where Megan was born, and my husband regularly visits Stanford's Hopkins Marine Labs in Pacific Grove to collaborate on research there, so we know the Monterey Bay area. And still, our stay in the Carmel Valley showed us new charms of this part of California. Your well-equipped kitchen made preparing the pies and turkey so much easier than other places we've stayed. And, we liked your collection of games. Most especially, we loved the way your decorated your home, esp. the Colorado tryptich! We tried to do a good initial pass at cleaning, washing some of the towels, and organizing the trash. Recycling is in the garage between the doors...if you do that. Our intention was to leave it as we would our own property. Indeed, thank you for allowing us to enjoy your home, the environment, and all the stars in the night sky in that dark part of the world!!! Kim Just returned to the UK this Sunday from Southern California. We had a great time in Carmel Valley. The house is beautiful and situated in a fantastic location. I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in that area (it has the great advantage of being sunny when the marine layer is in!). Thank goodness for satnav, though, as it wasn't too easy to find in the dark - don't know if you heard that we had a puncture near Gilroy on the way down and had to go back to San Jose to change the car over so didn't arrive until after 11pm.
