Our family celebrated a wonderful Christmas Eve/New Year’s Eve week at this wonderful home. Eleven family members (ages 4 - 68) were very comfortable and had lots of room. The house is wonderful with balconies/patios off every room, and a fabulous rooftop deck from where we celebrated the sunset over the Pacific every night! The pool and backyard . . well, words don’t begin to describe it. The weather was perfect so Eric heated the pool and the family swam every day and every night. The slide, grotto, hot tub, and waterfall added to the magic. We had Christmas dinner on the large comfortable patio, and relaxed around the fire pit for marshmallows after dinner. Eric took the time to greet us and give us a grand tour upon arrival, add Christmas touches with a tablecloth, candles and special soaps. He could not have been more welcoming. This was a home we will always remember with smiles!

Our family stayed at this beautiful house and had the best time! The owner checked us in early and we were so excited to get our vacation started. The rooms were spacious and nicely located so we were not on top of each other. The amenities were perfect. We loved that all the windows did not have coverings so we can enjoy the beautiful views! The pool was GORGEOUS and the slide added a super bonus for the family! The backyard was perfect for everything from pool, entertaining and dining. We enjoyed using the top deck to watch the sunsets over the ocean! It was a nice location to walk to T street and our family enjoyed the stroll to get coffee every morning. We are looking forward to our next stay! Thank you!

Our stay was an amazing adventure myself, family and friends shall not forget. Not only was this location perfect to have family and friends over, but also in a great location. Not only did us adults have a great time but our teenage children and little guys did as well. Plenty of space, beautiful pool and BBQ area, this will officially be our go to spot and I would absolutely recommend to anyone. Thank you and P.s I LOVE to rustic touch.

Custom Hacienda??? yes, custom built...but might be better located somewhere in Mexico.. The entire house has mexican floor tile... and some pretty funky molded kitchen seating.Location of property is accurately described by owner. Photos of the backyard reflect a great pool area..although it is pretty run down and not well kept up or clean. I met with the owner briefly, after I had paid the upfront deposit. Did a quick overview of the property. Owner went over some of the operations of the pool, etc. with me and was helpful in that area.... Owner was good about allowing us to check in early and did not rush us to check out on the last day.However, I had some reservations about the property at this point, but decided to give the place a try. It wasn't till we actually checked in that I realized how funky the place was. The mattresses on all of the beds are really uncomfortable..lopsided... with springs poking up... and with no mattress covers and one little blanket on each. After picking up one of the pillows on one of the beds... rat droppings fell out. When checking beds in downstairs pool room, had to wipe down all baseboards as there were so many spiders and spider webs..could not sleep in the beds. After filling the upstairs spa tub and turning on the jets, noticed lots of "things" floating around in the water. The Jets had not been cleaned out in some time. Under the sinks in bathrooms were dirty. While Blow drying my hair in the master bedroom... spider webs blew all over the room from the walls. My camper had much cleaner and better amenities than this "Custom Hacienda"... the pans were so greasy, had to wash before we could use them. Picked up a cushion on one of the couchs and looked under... No one has vacumned here... No curtains on many of the windows. It wasn't til we checked out, that we learned from the owner, that this place had been vacant for at least 5 weeks. And the cleaning crew had not been there in at least that long. Kids in their teens or 20's would like this place. Its a surf dude flophouse... Close to the beach, and downtown area where there are lots of places to eat and things to do. All others should keep looking. !!! My sister stayed in another rental for this same week. It was clean, comfy and less money.

6 adults rented 2 weeks summer 2011. Nice upscale neighborhood. It's a short drive or a long walk to the main drag, restaurants and shops.10 minutes walking at a normal pace to the beautiful beach. The house is spacious with great architecture. Tremendous potential. You can see the ocean in the distance from the upstairs patio and top deck. Pack lightly because you have to haul your luggage up a steep stairway to get to the main floor. Then there is another steep set of stairs inside up to the second story. Fine if you are 20 but we were all 50+. Even the dog was pooping out after a few days and he is only 3. Another reason to pack lightly is because there are no Guests Closets in the rooms downstairs. The Master has a walk-in. The bedroom downstairs has doors out to the patio, pool and BBQ area. Kinda cool except the bathroom doesn't have a door. You can actually see from the patio through the room to someone on the toilet. A fact that did not thrill my 80 year old Mom. Imagine putting in a fab deep soaking tub but no door? The first night I slept on a bed where you could actually feel the coils. We tried flipping the bed but that didn't help much. After another night I broke down and went to Bed, Bath & Beyond to purchase a mattress pad. If I were the owner I'd at least put thick pads on all the beds. On to the kitchen....nice gas stove, microwave, good frig, decent coffee pot, functional dishwasher. Toaster needs to be replaced. Pots & Pans were AWFUL - think of your oldest scratched teflon pan and rusted out cookie sheets and you get the idea. Hodge podge tableware. It's like what you would take camping. Lots of plastic Tiki beer mugs though. There is a concrete built in bench in the dinette and a few tall chairs. If your thighs are under 2" they might fit on the chairs under the table. Otherwise you have to sit on what we fondly called "the rock". There are 2 leather couches in the living room. Comfy to hang out on and indestructible. Hard to see the TV though. Upstairs there is a great TV with surround sound. We liked the BBQ and ate outside almost every night. Nice glass table there with rod iron chairs. The pool & jacuzzi were beautiful but unfortunately green with algae the first few days. Then the pool guy came and put so much chlorine in that it turned my cousins black bathing suit brown. And we waited 2 days! Overall, this place could be great if the furnishings and amenities were upgraded.

I do not have high enough accolades to give this house as well as the owner. Although I had seen pictures before arriving they really do not do it justice. It is perfect for a group as each room has different amenities that accommodates everyone perfectly as well as provides enough space to not feel as if you are on top of each other. The backyards is a picturesque escape from reality and provides a more relaxing experience than any resort I have been to. The location is perfect as you can easily walk to the pier, shopping, and restaurants and the neighborhood is quiet as well. The owner went above and beyond to make sure our stay was nothing less than perfect and I am greatly appreciative. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and only hope I have a chance to stay there again.

We rented this beautiful home for a week last month and had the best time!! The outdoor area is spectacular! Its like being at your own private resort, amazing pool and jacuzzi, cozy fire pit, wonderful built in bbq and bar with saeting all around and warm inviting fireplace! I didnt want to leave! We brought our bikes and rode to the close shops and restaraunts. The views from the house are so beautiful, I have some great sunset pics from the top view deck! I took a walk each morning to the pier, this is a wonderful place for a vacation. We will be back!!!

We used this rental last summer and we are returning again. It was so beautiful and conviently located to shops restaurants and the beach. The pool in this house and outside lounge/bbq area was amazing. Our whole family looks forward to many return trips there.

I have been lucky enough to rent this gorgeous home twice with my family. Once for our son's 18th birthday and once for my 40th birthday! Both times exceeded our friends and families expectations! I couldn't imagine any other place that could have topped our special days! The architect of this home is breathe taking and so unique! The backyard has the most beautiful, very private lagoon style pool, slide & jacuzzi. There are plenty of rooms and extra beds to accomidate your entire party. It is 5 minutes from the beatiful North Beach trail where lots of families run and walk. It is also a 5 minute walk straight to the beauful sandy beach of San Clemente! For our family, this is not just a home that we rent, it's a vacation!
