We were in unit #307 at The Islander the 2nd week of June, altho we had threats of oil it never arrived. #307 is great, it has all of the things you need to enjoy the week of sun, fun, and relaxation. It was well equipped with kitchen items as well as beach items such as umbrella, 3 chairs and even boogies boards for the kids. We took our grandchildren and they well satisfied with the unit and the view. It is overlooking the pool so if you have children that are able to go to the pool by themselves you are close enough to call them in for dinner or talk to them need arises. The decor was great and very upgraded, it was very clean and we will definetly stay in this unit again. The owner was excellent to work with and very concerned about our satisfaction.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Over the years my family and I have stayed at many condos and, having managed hotels for 20 years, I know the difference in "marginal" properties and those that actually exceed expectations. This property and this condo exceed expectations both for families and adults. Situated ideally on the beach and near activities in the area there is no reason to stay anywhere else. Great fun, quiet yet accessible to everything - looking forward to returning once again.

My daughter, Grandbaby, and I went on a week long vacation to Destin Florida and decided to stay at The Islander Resort. The accommodations that were provided to us were excellent. Our balcony had a breathtaking view of the Gulf and the grounds were very well kept. The resort had 2 pools and 2 whirl pool spa's available only to guests of the resort. The pools were never crowded and it was very easy to sit and relax by the pool all day. The Islander is a very family oriented place. During the day it is lively with children and parents playing in the pool, or making their way to or from the ocean, which by the way is a short walk from the resort. At night it is peaceful and quite and it is very easy to relax by the pool or on your balcony and listen to the sounds of the ocean. We had a wonderful time and we cannot wait to go back again. My husban and our two baby's spent the most wonderful vaction we have ever had at the Islander 307 .We enjoyed the beach and having the pool just below us to keep an eye on the girls. The unit is very nice ,had everything I needed for meals that we had in.Lots of good places to go for the evening meals in th area.(Callahands)Meet other folks at he pool that had a lot incommand with us. Looking forward to going back next summer.We reserved this same apartment .Hope you will get a chance to go. Jane
