This is a typical Avalon upside-down, bay-front family house. The house was built in the 1960s and has been lovingly maintained as a family vacation retreat without loosing its unique character and charm. Facing Yale Harbor on the East and Bluefish Harbor on the West, cool ocean breezes flow through the second floor living area and beautiful sunsets cast a golden glow at the end of the day.
The dock has 2 deep-water boat slips and is great for swimming, sailing, kayaking, crabbing, fishing and all kinds of boating and water sports. If you are a boater, you will be delighted with how close you are to some of the best back-bay fishing along the Jersey shore, as well as easy access to the ocean. In addition, the house is within easy biking/walking distance to beach, tennis courts, playgrounds, resort-town activities, shops and restaurants.
The dock, ample back yard and 3 car driveway are for your use only. The house 3,000 sq ft house offers a perfect setting to create summer family vacation memories.
There are five bedrooms (two kings, two with two twins each, one queen) and four full baths.
The second floor living area is encircled by decks to offer spectacular bay views. The well-equipped kitchen is strategically placed between the family room and the living/dining area. The large airy living room provides expansive views of the water and the dining area comfortably accommodates 10 people. There is a queen-sized bedroom and full bath off the quiet end of family/TV room.
The first (ground level) floor includes a master bedroom (king bed) with eastern exposure has a furnished screened porch, a separate sitting room and a full ensuite bathroom. There are 3 additional bedrooms; one with a king bed and ensuite bathroom, two with two twin beds each, sharing the hall bathroom. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan, high quality, comfortable mattresses and a selection of pillows and blankets. (Bed and bath linens are not included.) There are 3 TVs on the first floor, two on the second floor – all with full cable service.
Family rentals only.
Wireless internet service, 5 full cable TVs, complete laundry room, outside shower and a large back yard complete the package! Our home is available by the week(s) (Saturday to Saturday rentals) beginning in June and through September 2013.

Our family of 5 stayed here for a week. The bay is absolutely beautiful! We brought our 22' boat, 2 kayaks, a small sailboat and crab traps. Our children, ages 20, 18 and 12 had friends visit and everyone had a wonderful time fishing and boating. I swam the length of the bay several times and the water was clean and clear. The house is large and lends itself to group activities (game night) or quiet reading spots. Great outdoor shower and fenced in area to store bicycles, surf boards and beach chairs.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.

We had so much fun!! The house was bright and airy -- the water was really nice. My husband and I swam the length of the harbor each morning. The kids enjoyed our kayaks in the harbor and also swimming off the dock every day. The deck off the living room was a perfect place for meals -- and some evenings you could hear the ocean. About the owner: We think Avalon epitomizes the perfect place for a family vacation. Our grown children still see this beautiful seashore resort as their vacation spot and come back with their families to enjoy all that Avalon and waterfront living can offer.
Why the Owner Chose Avalon:
During the summer Avalon has scores of activities for all age groups. The little ones enjoy Avalon's spectacular protected beaches, craft events and puppet shows in town -- older ones enjoy all kinds of sports and nature 'camps', teens love the surfing and sports camps. Overlaying it all are the most perfect beaches in the world (our opinion!)
Autumn and spring rentals provide a bright yet cozy getaway for families. Calm beautiful beach walks, excellent biking opportunities, cozy fireplaces for evenings of family games. We think there is nothing quite like Avalon beaches and dunes, during the quiet seasons!
Our house is roomy and can easily handle two families of four or any combination of 8 - 10 family units. Many of our tenants come back year after year because the house is very comfortable and the price is right for two families.
In the summer, bring your boat -- bring all you water toys -- come to relax and enjoy the best that the Jersey shore can give!
