The Kitchen
is completely modern, with oven, range, microwave, dishwasher and full size refrigerator /freezer.
It is fully equipped to provide everything from the breakfast basics to the gourmet dinner.
A half bath with large American washer and dryer is between the kitchen and the parlor.
The kitchen, which is well-sized itself, opens to a light-filled solarium with a table that can expand to seat 12.

Living Room
Off the entry hall is a double living room with LCD TV, DVD & stereo. There is ample room for a group. The book shelves are filled with guidebooks to London, surrounding areas, other European cities, as well as entertainment reading. The house is equipped with a computer, ADSL internet connection, WI-FI and a printer
Bedrooms
All bedrooms have ample storage and all linens are supplied. Each room is capable of accommodating two.
The second floor has one full bathroom with walk in shower and three bedrooms:
The front room has a queen-size bed
The middle room is located on the second floor and has a double bed
The back room has two twin beds and is located on the second floor
The third floor has a bedroom with a queen-size bed and a full bath with bath
Transportation
Before using either the London buses or the underground, you should purchase an “Oyster Card” at a newsagent advertising Oyster sales. The newsagent across from the Putney Bridge Underground station sells them. Even for only a few days travel around the city, it is well worth spending a few pounds for the card, which can be loaded with whatever amount you want. Each time you travel on public transportation, touch the card on the Oyster button; the card works as a debit card, and a discounted amount is deducted from the card. Most ticket displays will show the amount remaining on the card (the ticket displays at Putney Bridge reflect the balance remaining). When your credit is used up, the card can then be recharged with any amount. The card never expires and can be used on subsequent visits to London.
Putney Bridge Underground Station (District Line): Turn left on Foskett Road, walk to end & turn right. Underground station is a couple of blocks down on the left, just past the over cross. Turn left immediately past the Majestic Wine Warehouse and walk down the alley to the station.
The Parsons Green Underground (also District Line): Turn right on Foskett, right on New King’s Road and walk down to Parsons Green. Turn left onto Parsons Green Road (at Starbucks) & walk up; the Underground station will be on the left.
Note for those unfamiliar with the District Line: because of the configuration of the line, not all eastbound or westbound trains go to the same destination; for example, a westbound train for Richmond will not go to Putney Bridge. You can change at Earl’s Court for a train going in the direction which you want (also change for the Piccadilly Line at Earl’s Court.) To get to Foskett Road, take a District Line train headed for Parson’s Green, Putney Bridge or Wimbledon. (At Earl’s Court, look at the signs above the District Line platforms. An arrow will light up, indicating the destination of the oncoming train.)
Shopping
There are a couple of “Mom & Pop” stores on New Kings’ Rd; turn either right (2 blocks) or left (1 block). There is a larger store, Budgens, on Parson’s Green Lane, between the White Horse and the Parsons Green Underground station. It is open 7:00 am -- 11:00 pm. Tesco, on Fulham Road (turn right on New Kings Rd and left on Munster) also has a larger selection. There are larger grocery stores on Fulham Road and a good bit further up New Kings’ Rd. There is a large Safeway just off Fulham Road at Hecked Place & North End Rd. You can get off at the Fulham Broadway tube stop. There is also a Safeway on New King’s Road just before Sloane Square.
There is post office at the back of the Mom & Pop grocery on New King’s Road on the right; a photocopy machine is in the front of the store. (There is also a mail drop at the Putney Bridge Underground.) In the next block up from the post office, there is a film developing store which has photo copy machines.
There is a dry cleaner’s/laundry on New King’s Road on the right hand side.
If you cross the Putney Bridge, you will find The Putney Exchange, an enclosed mall with a number of stores, including a large grocery store, Whiterose, an American Express office, a bookstore & a home store (on the right, down a couple of blocks). There are a number of restaurants and shops along Putney High Street (when you cross the bridge, you will be on Putney High Street). Boots, a pharmacy, is on the left after the bridge.
