    • We stayed in Capt Jim's for a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views are amazing and the house we very well equipped - even a crock pot! Our kids visited and the house was very homey and kid-friendly. Felt like I was home but with better views.

    • We stayed at this property for 9 days during Christmas 2008. Being at someone else's house over a holiday is daunting, since you are trying to host family and friends without your normal "stuff". That's where we were completely blown away. We arrived in a driving snow storm and had to leave our car in a snow drift down the street. But once in the house, it felt like home. Elisabeth and her husband had decorated the house with beautiful Christmas decorations, including a completely furnished tree! The kitchen had everything we needed to put on a Christmas dinner (including spices!), and we even had enough wood ready to keep the fire going the whole week. We were regularly, and unobtrusively checked-on to see if we needed anything. Every little detail was covered to make our stay terrific. The owners were even gracious enough to give us the "Starbucks" ornament off the tree as a souvenir of our having survived the worst snow in 40 years. I know this seems over-the-top, and no, I'm not a friend or family member of the owner. I'm just a seasoned traveler, completely tired of over-hyped properties, who loves to share real finds with like-minded folks. This is a real find!!

What a wonderful white Christmas! We had a difficult time getting to Anacortes from Nashville. (flight delays, snow, ice and cancellations) but it was worth it to get to this house and be with family for the holiday. Everything has been beautiful and full of "family" details that are provided. You have a great house here and it would be a pleasure to return. Betty

We came here for the Oyster Run weekend. The house is fantastic! Everything was provided. The views of the Islands & Sound are beautiful. A telescope or binoculars might be a nice touch. Thomas & Elisabeth are very accommodating. What a great weekend for a motorcycle trip on the Oyster Run. We explored the area on Saturday, fantastic! Dave & Dana Malhala Gig Harbor, WA Cliff & Connie Matteson Hood Canal, WA We will be back here again next year for the 2009 Oyster Run. This house was very comfortable and fit our needs perfectly also. Rod & Diane Canary, Puyallup, WA

We could have stayed anywhere for our "old" college friends reunion week. This house gave us conveniences to make our stay a break from home... plus we had a beautiful view of the Sound at the same time. Thank you

Ahoy, Captain Jim's was a GREAT place to stay. We'd never been up here before & it made it that much more enjoyable. The view in the morning is absolutely spectacular! Although I did get lost once (ha)the layout and furnishings were nicer than my own house. I can only hope to stay again. Hannah
