WONDERFUL FIND!

From the moment we walked in, until we sadly closed up the house 3 days later, the 6 of us who rented it for a 60th birthday celebration knew we had chosen the perfect place for such an important event. The owners have thought of every detail (well...we didn't find a tea kettle, but hey, the microwave worked just fine), to make their guests feel at home and special - from the comfortable furniture/beds, to the well stocked kitchen including all kinds of spices, to the sauna out back and the "crow's nest" on the 3rd level! Add to this the incredible views, made even more awesome by sunny days and glorious sunsets, and the wide variety of activities close by, (don't miss walking around Washington Park) , and we simply could not have found a better place to stay in Anacortes! We recommend it to anyone wanting to kick back and relax in style. Thanks, Elizabeth! ~ "The Ladies of the Club", Bothell

Super Views and Comfort!

Our group of 8 female cyclists descended for a three night visit. We found the house to be absolutely perfect for our group gathering. The layout was terrific, nobody felt crowded and the amenities were wonderful. We enjoyed the lovely views from the many windows and decks. The beds were very comfortable and there was no shortage of hot water for showers! The garage provided secure shelter for all the bicycles. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked and fully functioning. Elizabeth and her husband answered any questions promptly and efficiently. Our group has rented homes elsewhere before, this was one of the very best! We'd love to return some day.

We stayed in Capt Jim's for a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views are amazing and the house we very well equipped - even a crock pot! Our kids visited and the house was very homey and kid-friendly. Felt like I was home but with better views.

We stayed at this property for 9 days during Christmas 2008. Being at someone else's house over a holiday is daunting, since you are trying to host family and friends without your normal "stuff". That's where we were completely blown away. We arrived in a driving snow storm and had to leave our car in a snow drift down the street. But once in the house, it felt like home. Elisabeth and her husband had decorated the house with beautiful Christmas decorations, including a completely furnished tree! The kitchen had everything we needed to put on a Christmas dinner (including spices!), and we even had enough wood ready to keep the fire going the whole week. We were regularly, and unobtrusively checked-on to see if we needed anything. Every little detail was covered to make our stay terrific. The owners were even gracious enough to give us the "Starbucks" ornament off the tree as a souvenir of our having survived the worst snow in 40 years. I know this seems over-the-top, and no, I'm not a friend or family member of the owner. I'm just a seasoned traveler, completely tired of over-hyped properties, who loves to share real finds with like-minded folks. This is a real find!!

What a wonderful white Christmas! We had a difficult time getting to Anacortes from Nashville. (flight delays, snow, ice and cancellations) but it was worth it to get to this house and be with family for the holiday. Everything has been beautiful and full of "family" details that are provided. You have a great house here and it would be a pleasure to return. Betty

We came here for the Oyster Run weekend. The house is fantastic! Everything was provided. The views of the Islands & Sound are beautiful. A telescope or binoculars might be a nice touch. Thomas & Elisabeth are very accommodating. What a great weekend for a motorcycle trip on the Oyster Run. We explored the area on Saturday, fantastic! We could have stayed anywhere for our "old" college friends reunion week. This house gave us conveniences to make our stay a break from home... plus we had a beautiful view of the Sound at the same time. Thank you

Ahoy, Captain Jim's was a GREAT place to stay. We'd never been up here before & it made it that much more enjoyable. The view in the morning is absolutely spectacular! Although I did get lost once (ha)the layout and furnishings were nicer than my own house. I can only hope to stay again. Hannah
