I never, ever write reviews. But I wanted to save everyone else from the terrible experience we had. I stayed here with some friends for spring break, and the place was in terrible condition. We had to arrive several hours after our check-in time because we were told the glass table was broken and had to be replaced. When we did finally arrive, there was also no door handle on the main entrance door. We couldn't leave for a few hours while that was being put in. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher when we arrived. The carpet was filthy all over with obvious stains. The TV in the bunk bedroom was broken off the wall. 2 of the 3 sliding glass doors didn't lock. There was writing in permanent marker scribbled on the wall. Lamps were crooked and had obviously been dropped multiple times. The shower rod in one bathroom was poorly "repaired" and held up only by wooden pieces. One of the locked doors didn't work, and when we called to complain, we were told to just wedge a knife in the door and pry it open. The air conditioning didn't seem to be working properly, as it was always hot and humid inside. Parking in the parking lot is terrible for anything larger than a SmartCar. Decent location on the beach. It's a bit far (15 mins) from the "happening" places. It does, however, have a nice large balcony--much larger than most other units. The pictures are accurate as far as furnishings go. This place was a waste of money. Needless to say, I will be looking elsewhere next time I go to Panama City.
Owner response:I was caught off guard when I received a call about this bad review. I thought the Spring Break guest (bad reviewer) understood what had happened. But, I guess I was mistaken so now I have to give my side of the story. The previous Spring Break guests where animals and trashed the condo. Being a back to back rental on a Saturday I expected very little to be done on such short notice. The front door lock, interior doors, glass table, shower rods, and the flat screen TV all damaged or so badly abused that they were barely hanging on the wall. Permanent marker on the walls of their State school... REALLY! Liquored up sticky floors and counter-tops; unbelievable the amount of garbage in the unit. Needless to say they will all be sorely remembered. I totally empathized with the following Spring Break Guest (bad reviewer). I offered them a complete refund. But, that was not an option for them. We did the best we could on such a short window of time. Everyone we called that day to go work on that condo did a fantastic job. All the destruction was taken care of in the quickest time available to us. It was a huge inconvenience for that guest I'm sure. But, it was a big one for us as well. I don't think you have to be a college kid or have a good imagination to really understand what happened here or to sympathize. One last thing I have to say is, "crooked lamp shades"...REALLY! If only you saw what we saw after the previous guest left.
