Our party of 11 (5 adults, and 6 kids under 13) just returned from 10 days in absolute paradise! There is not one thing that we would change about our stay. Mark treated us like family, and the home was outstanding. Plenty of room, and the location was ideal. The pool could not have been more perfect for our group, and we loved getting to watch the whales and turtles from the deck. We are already planning our next trip to the North Shore. Thank you so much for providing your magnificient home as a rental. Perfection!
Owner response:We are so pleased you had a wonderful time. We know this location captures authentic Hawaii and it is good to hear you experienced the Aloha. We are glad to hear you are planning to return. This is the place to make family memories and we treasure the family vacations we spend each year in this very special place. You and your family are welcome any time. Mahalo

We were in Hawaii to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and the house proved to be an excellent choice for us; we were there for one week (not nearly long enough.) There were ten of us (ranging from ages 16 to 73 years of age) and the spacious house accommodated us without ever seeming crowded. Because there were so few of us we were able to use the beachfront yard for a wedding vow renewal ceremony and it was just great. The beach is right at the end of the yard with great swimming, snorkeling and watching turtles and surfers; the pool on the patio also was well used by all of us. The downstairs kitchen along with the new barbeque grill proved the favorite place for dinner when all of us were there for dinner. The upstairs deck is great for reading and watching out over the water. Not all of the bedrooms are as spacious and grandiose as is the master suite but they are adequate. The house is perfect for exploring the entire North Beach area from Dillingham airport to Turtle Bay and beyond; in fact, three of our group went up in gliders at the airport. The house is a longish walk or more reasonable biking distance to the old sugar mill as well as a small store and the post office. Haleiwa is a short ride with markets and shops, restauants and a marina. We would recommend this house for friends and would use it again for ourselves.
Owner response:Your description makes me want to block out a couple weeks for our family because it has been too long since we visited. I am glad you enjoyed the beach and wonderful sea turtles that swim the reef protected waters in front of the house. Please return soon, Mahalo

Great house, great location and great people to deal with. We had a wonderful family holiday relaxing around the pool, exploring Oahu and recharging the batteries. Thanks to Mark and Jeremy for keeping the place well maintained and making us feel welcome. The description and photos on VRBO are accurate - it's that nice. One week is too short so we'll come back.
Owner response:So glad you were able to recharge and I agree - one week just seems to short once you relax and the end of the week just comes too soon. The tropical breeze and the warm ocean are the key ingredients to decompressing. We have been working on refreshing our home with some new outdoor furnature and just replaced the BBQ and a tv, so it is good to hear that our on-island host Mark is keeping everything well maintained. Please come back and stay longer next time. Mahalo

A great location, and Haleiwa is a great town from which to explore the north shore. The price reflects that it's for larger groups. But to bill it as an "estate" is a bit of an exaggeration. The downstairs and the master bedroom and bath are in really good shape, but the other upstairs areas are a little worn and dated. Most of the screen doors upstairs didn't open and close properly, and the kitchen is well equipped but the lighting is poor - either too dark or florescent. The kitchen trash can was dirty and the lid was broken off. The bbq was really dirty, with the result that one night it actually caught fire from all the fat in the tray! (we let the manager know aout this so hopefully it will be cleaned). The wi-fi was intermittent and the outdoor furniture by the pool and on the balcony is pretty worn from being outside in the elements. We have pretty high expectations, but compared to the other houses we have rented in Maui and elsewhere this was not up to standard for a smaller group (6) for this price.
Owner response:Wow, we have never had a review lower than a 5-star so we paid attention and addressed all of the concerns you had. We take pride in our home and have gotten used to our guests having a spectacular time. So, to make sure we don't get another review like this, our on-island host (Mark) bought all new outdoor furniture cushions, kitchen trash can and BBQ. He put the screen doors back on their tracks that apparently had been pushed off track. He added a booster to the WIFI and had the cable company come out and make sure all the tv and cable connections are working like they should. We put a new TV in one of the bedrooms. All this to say that anything less than a 5-star rating is taken as a personal failure for our dedicated on-island host (Mark) and it is his personal mission to share Aloha with our guest's by exceeding their expectations. We are sorry you did not experience the spirit of Aloha expressed in the reviews by all our other guests. Let's see how we do in our next review. Like you said this "is a great location" and we want our guests to experience all the reasons we have come to love this home in paradise.

We just spent one week enjoying this incredible house. There were 8 of us, ages 2-75. The house was fun for everyone! The pool is lovely and we enjoyed hanging out around the pool during the day; the house's lower level opens up to the pool and makes it easy for everyone to gather in one spot (if you want!). The beach is steps away, with lots of fun sand and gentle waves (even in February) because of a reef right off shore. We swam every day (you can snorkel too-I saw coral, turtles and fish). The house has four bedrooms upstairs (no twins, which was a bit surprising, but worked out) and three bathrooms. All of the rooms have screened windows and doors that lead to a wrap-around porch which is secure (no entrance to downstairs). This was good for the young ones to roam around the house, and for cool breezes at night. All of the beds were comfortable, clean and we had plenty of towels. Downstairs is a media room with a projection screen and three couches. I believe that these pull out into beds-we didn't use them this way, but it could be another bedroom. Another full bath on the downstairs level. The kitchen is stocked with cooking gear and we ate nearly every meal in (there is a grill as well, which we used every night). You bring your favorite food, and you are set. I might suggest you rent a couple bikes; there is a bike path at the end of the drive way that leads into Haleiwa (about 2 miles I think). We biked almost every day. Nice and flat for most of the ride. The property is spectacular and extremely well-maintained. As guests, we didn't have to do anything! We were completely taken care of by the on-island host, Mark. He was responsive, kind and always had a suggestion or good idea when asked. He went above and beyond for our group, and truly helped this to be our best family vacation.

Owner response:It is wonderful to hear about your family vacation in our North Shore Villa. It is hard to imagine a better location to experience the best of Hawaii. Miles of pristine white sand beach and no tourists in sight! We added the downstairs kitchen and indoor-outdoor slide away glass walls to make living by the ocean and pool easy and your family really used it like we intended when we created this space. We hope other grandparents, adult children and grandchildren will enjoy this paradise together like your family did. Mahalo and come back soon.

We have never been to hawaii and didn't know what to expect. This property doesn't disappoint and is amazing in every sense, ocean views, turtles on the beach, great entertaining areas and great weather. The house itself is well appointed and with all you need to make it a memorable vacation, as we did. The natural reef provides a great beach to swim and snorkel. The beach itself is uncrowded ( only the occasional person walking by ), unlike waikiki. Special thanks to Mark who made us feel more than welcome and provided us with great local knowledge and dining options on arrival. We'll be back
Owner response:We really enjoy having guests from Australia. Our On-Island host Mark knows all the best surf spots and hidden places to swim with turtles. Traveling all the way to Hawaii to stay in a crowded hotel with all the other tourists does not make sense as long as there are places like this to experience the best of Hawaii.

Just returned from an amazing week spent at this beautiful home. My husband, son and I met up with my two brother-in-laws for a Christmas in Hawaii that we will always treasure. This home is perfect with the four bedrooms and baths; the entertainment room, the pool, beach, etc. It was all lovely. We needed a few additions for the kitchen, crock pot and cookie sheets, which Mark was wonderful and provided right away. Thank you Mark. We hope to return again. Thank you.
Owner response:It is good to be able to provide a location that that has everything our guests need to make their visit to the North Shore truely special. Our On-Island host always goes the extra mile to make sure our guests experience what Aloha is all about.

Wow... having to adjust back my normal life has been tough after our stay here! So glad to get to the North Shore, it's a whole different world from the other side of the island. And this house was the perfect place for us. Slept nine adults and two children comfortably where we never felt we were in each others space. I would only call it a four bedroom however, but the large den/entertainment room is large enough to sleep 4-6 people if needed, just not as private. I was fortunate enough to sleep in on of the rooms facing the pool and ocean and it was lovely to sleep and wake to the ocean breeze and sound of the surf every evening and morning... and a million dollar view every day! We would definitely stay here again... the pool was right at your feet through the open air living space downstairs with a fridge close by for drinks, the beach just a few feet more with only the occasional passer by (and the reef keeps the surf mellow enough for children to play safely), the grounds beautifully landscaped and cared for, the upstairs lanai was awesome for taking advantage of the view and ocean breeze (and watching surfers), the kitchen was great (we ate in nearly every night and there is a grill), all in all it had everything we had hoped for. And yes... even turtles on the beach. Oh... and if you're a fan of Lost, look for the "others" cabins and the beach where they filmed the crash scene just down the road near the point. Hope to come back in a couple years!
Owner response:It makes us very happly to hear "We would definitely stay her again". Thanks for pointing out the location for "Lost" nearby. The unspoiled tropical beauty of this part of the island is perfect for real life escapes too. Come back soon. Mahalo

This was our second time renting a house on North Shore, the 10th time wisiting Hawaii, and this was the best time we have had so far. The house had plenty of room for the 11 of us. With two kitchens storing food and cooking was easy. Plenty of spaces where people could sit quietly and read, lay in the sun, catch a football game, watch the ocean from the top deck, or go snorkeling right behind the house. One day we were able to swim with a sea turtle. There are many things to see and do that are near North Shore, without all the traffic and congestion of Honolulu. We even watched a "keiki" surf competition at one of the parks in Haleiwa, and went to a farmers makret for fresh fruit and some great tasting Mahi Mahi.
Owner response:I really like to hear that someone who has visited Hawaii 10 times rates the stay in our North Shore Villa the best. I too have visited all the islands over many years and have come to the same conclusion that this is the best place in paradise.

If you are looking for a special location in Hawaii for your family and / or friends to spend a wonderful vacation experience; STOP, your search is over!! Our extended family of eight (four “seniors” and four “30 somethings”) spent ten days in this beautiful home while we visited our Son and his Fiancé who live on Oahu and work for the University. We had twice previously stayed at Waikiki Beach so this time we wanted to try a different local away from the “hustle & bustle “ and tourist ambiance of the city, The home, furnishings and location are even more exquisite than shown in the photos, offering amazing views and ocean “sounds” from every window. There is enough space to either gather together for family fun or relax alone with a good book on the lanai by the pool or on the beach. The spacious downstairs, with second kitchen, bar and entertainment areas, offers alternative options for relaxation and enjoyment. We parents cooked most of the meals in the perfectly appointed kitchen. We had absolutely everything we needed to prepare full family meals. Of course the nearby historic, surf town of Haleiwa provided other dining alternatives as well as fun shopping options. Simply….Simply….Fabulous experience; what more can I say? Oh yes – many thanks to Property Manager Mark, who offered all of his experience and advice about fun places to go and “must see” experiences during our all too brief time in Paradise!! Mahalo, Mark!!
Owner response:Mahalo William and Susan, I appeciated the card and photo you sent. I could tell you got into the laid back relaxed pace of the North Shore. I hope you will return the next time you decide to visit Hawaii. We are so pleased when our guests experience the real essence of Hawaii in this wonderful slice of paradise.

We just got back from Hawaii and we are proud to say that we stayed in paradise. The best resort house with the best amenities and accomodations. Words can not describe our feelings and the good times that we had at this estate. Close to all historical Hawaiian villages where you can meet the native Hawaiians and see what Hawaii has to offer. Beautiful beaches with untouched landscape. A true PARADISE! Thank you for this great experience and we will be back!
Owner response:Thank you Shiba. We are happy to know that you enjoyed this home as much as we do when we are there. After visiting all the islands many times over the years we now find everything we love about Hawaii on the North Shore and this home is truely the best the North Shore has to offer. We are glad you experienced the Aloha spirit of the Hawaiians living in Waialua along with the beauty of this pristine property. Come back soon!

This North Shore property can't be beat! We looked long and hard for the perfect property to spend Easter on the beach with our two combined families of 7. It was magnificent! The pool was a great option to the beach and on windy days it was especially great to have a protected area for sunbathing. The house was big enough that three teenagers could find their own spot while the four adults had their own areas to nap, sleep, read and visit. The master bedroom was perfect with ocean views and sunrises first thing in the morning. No clocks required. Extra comfy beds with four full bedrooms, although a trip to Costco helped supply more comfortable pillows. Our sons slept in the media room downstairs, although circulation was a small issue, even though there was an air conditioner. The kitchen was well stocked and the downstairs full kitchen came in handy for evening dinners. The location of the house was also great. Near enough to eclectic Haleiwa , beaches, surfing, North Shore. The beach in front was very good for snorkeling, but swimming was a little tricky with the rocks, although the best beach was merely a block away with sandy beach and great snorkeling. The turtles were especially fascinating. We are neat freaks and the house did not disappoint. Washer and dryer were especially useful for wet bathing suits. Our hosts were helpful, always available, but not intrusive. Be sure to ask them where to rent bikes. Snorkeling gear would make this house perfect, otherwise well stocked with pool toys and baby gear. Shampoo, soaps, beach towels and laundry soap generously provided. Overall, this is a property we will miss! It couldn't have been more perfect! Thank you!
Owner response:Thank you for your review. We enjoy sharing this home with families because we know that this is a very special place where our guests can experience what Hawaiian living is all about. Come back soon and we will have some new enhancements to make sure we remain the premier North Shore vacation home. Aloha

If you are heading to Hawaii and are researching rental houses. Your hunting is over. We chose the North Shore because the relaxed feel in the area. It is only 30-40 minutes north of the airport and very easy to get to. No traffic issues that are a constant in Honolulu. It is far less touristy and a lot more laid back, but anything you would want to do is going to be less than a one hour drive. As the others have written, the house is great. We spent a lot of time researching houses for our first trip to Hawaii and this house was awesome! It was very clean and well stocked. We had zero problems or issues. The beach is great for walking, viewing, or for younger children because there are almost no waves that reach the shore due to reefs. There are several beaches near by with bigger surf if you need it. Haleiwa is a great little town with small shops and restaurants. It is most certainly a surf town and couldn't be more opposite to Waikiki. It was a great place to relax without the crowds. We had six adults and two teens and were very comfortable at all times in the house. The home theater was nice but we never used it. Too busy looking at the great views. We loved how you could open the walls up downstairs and feel like you were outside. The bedrooms are great but the master was awesome! Two kitchens, upstairs and down stairs, were great with everything we needed for cooking. A special thanks to Mark and Donna who were great. They met us at the house and gave us a lot of great information about the activities and the area. They made us feel very much at home and we hated to leave. They are fabulous hosts and very knowledgable about the island. Thanks for such a great vacation... The Longs
Owner response:It is good to hear that your stay in our home made your first trip to Hawaii so enjoyable. Your description is exactly why we believe this property is so special. You have the pristine beach with no tourists allowing you to relax in a lush tropical setting; yet you are close to everything you may want to do. The reef protected shoreline is perfect for long walks on the sand and for the children as you noted, yet if you paddle outside of the reef you can surf amazing breaks right out front and a couple miles away is the famous "Haliewa" where the first round of the Tripple Crown of Surfing is held each year. Come back in the Winter and you will see some amazing surfing. Even if the waves are "epic" you can stay in our home on this reef protected shoreline making it ideal even in for kids and sea turtles even when the surf is up. We are also pleased that you had "zero" issues. This is what we are striving for so our guests can experience the amenities of a "five star" resort, but without having to share the experience with all the tourists. This is the best Hawaii has to offer. Come back soon. Aloha!

My father said it best, "This is what I imagined heaven is like". We took my parents and our 3 pre-teenagers, and everyone enjoyed themselves. The house was just like the pictures, clean, beautiful and had magnificent views of the ocean. We had nice romantic walks on the beach, the kids learned to surf and we all loved the turtles. I miss sitting on the lanai every morning drinking my cup of coffee watching the sun come up and feeling the warm ocean breeze. A unexpected plus was the managers of the property. Thanks Mark, Donna and Melia for your warm hospitality. This is by far the best rental beach house we have stayed in Hawaii. Mahalo.
Owner response:It is good to hear that your family had such a wonderful time. Your review is confirmation that our efforts to upgrade our North Shore beach home into a tropical villa with all the luxury amenities you would expect in a five star property have been successful. We supplied new linens and upgraded the two kitchens and added toys, hawaiian music, movies, toys and even a pak n play for the babies. We will be adding an ocean kayak and beach gear shortly to make sure days at the beach are fun and easy. Thanks to our new on-island hosts Mark and Donna, we can now offer additional concierge services for those who really want to be pampered. In-home massage, chef services, daily maid services and just about any tour or North Shore activity can be pre-arranged for our guests. We are pleased to know you had such a wonderful time and we hope you return soon. Aloha

What a fantastic holiday we had at this lovely house. Peter the owner was very easy to deal with in regards to booking / payment and bond refund. Mark the man on the ground was relaxed and extremely helpful - even shared his long boards with us and guided us to the local surf break - hammerheads! The region is great - plenty to see and do - the beach is basically a turtle highway and the kids had a great time building cubby houses with the drift wood. There was plenty of room for our two families and we would love to return one day. Aloha and Mahalo from the Healey Family

We stayed for a week here and loved it. we opened up all of the doors for the most amazing breeze and ocean sounds. we snorkeled alot in the ocean and saw many turtles and fish. The beach is deserted, we rarely saw anyone. We build some good sand castles also. there were a lot of divers out and about in the water. We used the pool every night, very nice. Outdoor shower is excellent. The gardens out front are beautiful and smell great. There is a nice paved path to take a run, I think it's about 2 miles into the town. The bedrooms are comfortable, ceiling fans in every room, the sheets are soft. We never got around to using the downstairs, the upstairs has a nice view from the deck. the kids slept out there sometimes.

It was truly a pleasure staying at this luxury home for 5 nights! The beach is not the best for swimming, but it is beautiful to look at all day long. The pool was perfect for my family....we spent a lot of time in that pool. Having a second story was also very nice as we could leave the "kids" downstairs and enjoy the peacefulness upstairs. If the opportunity presents itself, we would definitely stay there again.

Our extended family stayed at this property in February 2007. All I can say is that is paradise. Why anyone would stay in a hotel when they could instead stay here is beyond me. Everything you could ever want or need is in the house and the views are breathtaking. You can walk down the beach in either direction for an hour and not see a soul. It is like having your own private paradise. The house is super clean, the kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare your meals with and you can sit out on the lanai and watch the humpback whales dance in the ocean.
