beautiful home, gorgeous views. we watched a pod of about 100 dolphins as they leapt and swam south only 300 yards from the terrace. a magical location and home, complete with comfortable beds....not always a given when renting a home. we'll be back! thank you.

We rented this house for a family wedding. We only considered handicap accessible homes as we were hoping to convince our 90 year old mother in law that she could handle the trip. She declined; however the rest of the family thouroughly enjoyed this home. Had she traveled with us she would have done fine with her walker as the home is level throughout and large and easily maneuverable. The toilets are lower and we would have had to find a medical supply store and added one of those plastic lifts. Also, showering could have been done in the master with the addition of one of those grip handles which we have traveled with before for her use. I would have needed to add another floor mat to the shower, but there was an extra one in the garage that would have helped. The chairs in the living room would have been ideal for her. The rest of us were delighted with the home. The view is gorgeous! It was a full moon and the commercial fishing boats parked just off shore and we very much enjoyed watching them. We also saw dolphins and seals and any number of individual fishing boats. We intended to do more sight seeing, but so enjoyed the comfy furniture on the patio and the changing scenery. There was always something to watch. I never finished the first book! The kitchen is lovely and well stocked. The only thing missing is a food processor. The toaster wasn't functional, but Susan replaced it immediately. I baked multiple batches of cookies for a family picnic and found everything. There were even some supplies in the home. The beds were the best we have encoutered in a rental home yet! Even our grown children commented on how comfy they were. The bedding was lovely also. The laundry room is ideal and includes a steamer that works better than the one I have at home. We didn't need the iron or ironing board because the steamer did the trick. The Yamaha player piano is an added treat. We tried to get thru all of the disks, but I don't think we made it as there were too many favorites that we needed to repeat. There is a lovely TV, but we spent most of our evenings by the fire chatting. It was a wonderful experience that I will treasure. The dining room table seats 8 comfortably and we also used the table behind the couch to seat 4 more. The dining room chairs are so comfortable I would like to copy them when we remodel our home. We have rented many homes for family vacations and this is the nicest one yet. You won't be disappointed

Fantastic place - location, views, house (and owner!). We stayed with friends for a week in October 2011 (4 adults, 3 small children). The house is truly fantastic, high quality, extremely well decorated and fully kitted out with everything you need. Not like any other rental house, this is a home that has a fully lived in feel, it's like you are house sitting for a friend. Susan was there to meet us on arrival, a great person and very special house. Location is great and the overall Laguna Beach area is wonderful. Highly recommended.

We just enjoyed a spring break experience with the family and to tell you the truth, my husband and I could hardly get off the deck. We live on the lake in Washington state and enjoy a wonderful view of Lake Washington, but the ocean and all the wildlife was so amazing we hard a hard time walking Laguna Beacn. The pictures do not do this home justice! We saw Whales, Seals, Dolfins and thousands of Pelicans. The wonderful awnings protected us for the most part but the view was too spectacular to shade. Thank you for a wonderful vacation, we will definately be looking for more time at your beautiful home. I would highly recommend this home , but hate to do so because it should never be available. Care to sell? Loved it! Thanks Susan, a wonderful experience. The Deal family

My family and I stayed in this gorgeous house for a week and it was all that we could have imagined. This home and location will not disappoint. The house is set atop 50 foot cliffs that overlook the pacific ocean. Pictures do not capture the stunning view from the large patio. During our stay we were lucky enough to see migrating whale's as well as dozens of dolphins, right from the patio. The home is beautifully decorated with every room having it's own style and feel. The kitchen has everything you need for entertaining a large group or just a quiet dinner for two. The house is child friendly and both my daughters under three were perfectly at home. There were many fun 'extra's for the girls to play with, from a mini table/chairs, wagon, bouncer, puzzles, etc. We flew in so bringing all their toys was not an option. The beach is literally a three minute walk to the sand. This quaint beach has a secluded feel due to the massive cliffs at both ends. Laguna is a great little beach town. Tons of restaurants, shopping, farmers market - anything you could want. Many Amusement parks (Disneyland, Legoland etc.) and airport are all within a half hour drive. It was hard not to sound redundant from all the other great reviews but they are all true, this house is that great. We truly had a great time. The owners made it a pleasure renting their special home to us, thanks again. We will be back soon.

My family and I stayed at this beautiful home for a week in January 2011 to celebrate my mother's 75th birthday. I was looking for an ocean front place with no stairs to maneuver. This home met and exceeded my expectations. The location is perfect. It's on a quiet residential street that is halfway between great shopping in Crystal Cove (loved the Trader Joe's) and the center of Laguna. It's easy to get anywhere but you avoid the congestion of downtown Laguna. The views from the home were spectacular and can't be duplicated in photographs. There were sea lions on a rock in the cove almost every afternoon. There were dolphins leaping past us almost every morning and afternoon. We watched the sun set behind Catalina Island every afternoon. Although the neighbors' houses are close, there was complete privacy. Crescent Bay Point Park is a two minute walk from the house. Just gorgeous! The interior of the home was even nicer than I could have imagined... everything was spotless. Although the overall look is kind of formal (which I loved...everything was very high quality), we could not have been more comfortable. You just sink into the sofas and don't want to leave. We all felt at home from the first day. Susan made everything easy from beginning to end. She met us at the house and showed us around. We really appreciated that, and loved the beautiful goodie basket she left for us. Even after we left, her courtesy continued, and she promptly returned our security deposit. Overall it was a wonderful experience. I can't recommend this place enough. It's the nicest place I've ever stayed and worth every penny. I hope to come back many more times.

Staying at the McKnight house for 2 weeks in September may very well have been one of the best family vacations we have ever taken. The house is absolutely spectacular with a view to match. So much room to gather family and friends or take time alone on the beautiful balcony with a good book. Great restaurants, art galleries, beaches - everything for every taste. Susan was always available by phone for whatever we needed or questions we had. It might sound like I'm overstating how wonderful everything was but I honestly am not. It truly was a dream vacation. If you can't make it to Hawaii, stay at the McKnight house - I bet you won't notice the difference and I know you won't be sorry.

my family and i stayed here in June 2010. this was a new adventure for us as we have always stayed in hotels. this home spoiled us and has made us rethink how we vacation in the future. the home and its view are top notch. the family that owns the property and hosts you gets 5 stars. they are gracious, accomodating and wonderful to work with. we stayed here for 10 days and lived on the patio every night for dinner. the views from the houses on the cliffs in laguna are special. the pictures of the home online are first class but even they don't do it justice until you walk in the home. great neighborhood and close to the village but equally as close to crystal cove in newport. could not give it a higher rec than I wish we lived there all the time.

My family had the tremendous pleasure of staying in this fabulous home the entire summer of 2010. The home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Nestled between a luscious garden and spectacular direct ocean veiws, the home is the untimate luxurious hideway. The pictures in the review pale to the sheer warmth and luxury one enjoys while staying there. If you think you want to stay for a short while, think again! Between the meticulous care and cleanliness of the house, the owners/management are devoted to making sure your time at their home is one of the most memorable experiences of your life. Close to everything you need and ultimate privacy is a rare find with fabulous ocean views. We stayed three months and really would have loved to stay forever. Beautiful Crescent Bay Park is just around the corner and the eclectic and fascinating village of Laguna Beach is just a few moments away. An awesome summer in a luxurious setting made our summer an unforgettable life altering experience!!! Thank you so much!!!

My husband and I were fortunate enough to be able to rent this outstanding home for the month of February 2010. This is the caliber of home that rarely finds its way into the rental pool. That being said, consider yourself truly blessed if you can spend a few days or weeks in this drop-dead gorgeous home. I can honestly say that this web sites photos and video cannot fully convey the moment you walk thru the front doors, down the art filled gallery hall and have your first holy-Toledo moment. The view is so sensational that it borderlines on visual overload. The beautifully appointed living room and the vast expanse of Pacific Ocean beyond create a sensation that there is no separation between the two, completely awe inspiring. Being an interior designer, I can be somewhat jaded by beautiful settings and furnishings, but not this time. This home is so comfortable in its luxury that you want to kick off your shoes and take to the balcony to watch a sunset over Catalina ~ pure Heaven. The location is also unrivaled. You are steps from Crescent Bay Point Park which I lovingly refer to as my "happy place." The beach is a short walk beyond. The charming village of Laguna is a short drive (or comfortable walk) to the south, with the upscale shopping and dining of Crystal Cove, Corona del Mar and Fashion Island a short drive to the north. In conclusion, you are spoiled by the efficiency and attention to detail shown you by the property manager Susan Wilsey. She will make you feel like you are family. Add staying in this house to your "100 things to do before I die" ~ you will not be disappointed.Pam and Jack SpinesWichita, Kansas

The McKnight home is a perfect home in every way. I chose the home for pure relaxation and romance. I wanted to spend a romantic three days away with my husband. It was a surprise for him and I thought the perfect anecdote for both us and our stressed out lives. He was in awe of this house from the curb, through the beautiful garden that leads you to the front door and at the magnificent entry hall inside the front doors. He walked immediately towards the sound of the waves, to the enormous balcony that floats above a magical cove and the Pacific Ocean. He did not move from the comfortable outdoor lounge for over 3 straight hours, unheard of for my husband. He went from over-whelmed and stressed to peaceful and content. This amazing home creates warmth, comfort and luxury that allows its guests to escape, relax and enjoy from either its expansive outdoor balcony, it’s cozy sofa in the main room or the luxurious ocean front master bedroom. Though you could spend hours looking out and enjoying the view, of boats, dolphins, and sunsets, you could spend hours in each room appreciating all that went into making this house so spectacular. The home is appointed with incredible antiques and fabrics, intriguing photos and paintings, a library of books that could keep you busy for years and every comfort of home needed to entertain or just to sit and do nothing. Oh and not to mention, a piano that is set up to play wonderful music that floats through the house as a back drop to the sounds of the Pacific. The master bath is fit for a glamorous movie star, but allowed a very tired mommy to rejuvenate in it’s enormous tub. Oh it was pure peace and luxury. The media room was a perfect spot for a movie and some popcorn. Though we used the house for relaxation and time to re-connect, it is the perfect home to bring the entire family for vacation. The house and garage is stocked with everything needed for a small or enormous family. They have everything from highchairs, to beach chairs, sand toys to kid’s movies. My kids would have loved this house. Though this house is exquisite, it is very kid-friendly.Laguna Beach’s main beach is within walking distance, as is a market, yoga studio and wonderful restaurants. If we left McKnight( trust me we hated to leave that house) to head into town the walk was easy and very enjoyable.I love this house.!!!!!!!!If you stay once, you will count the days till you can come back again. It is a perfect home.

I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed your beautiful home. It was perfect in every way, and our family had the trip of a lifetime. We felt as if we were at home in such a gorgeous setting, and the house has EVERYTHING that we could have wanted. Our only regret is that we had so many activities planned we did not get to spend as much time just hanging out at the house as we would have liked! As you know it was extremely special for our family to be together to celebrate the three years since my husband's "adventure" began, and we could not have been happier with my choice of venues!! We will keep your amazing property on our "favorites" list and will hope to return again some day. Thank you as well for the wonderful basket of goodies that you gave us. What a nice touch to start out our fantastic stay. Again, thanks for a wonderful week. It exceeded our expectations and will be part of our great memories of a lovely trip.

PERFECTION ON THE PACIFIC. FROM THE MOMENT YOU WALK THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR INTO THE MAJESTIC MARBLE ENTRY, A STUNNING AND SERENE WORLD AWAITS. AND WHILE REGAL AND BEAUTIFULLY APPOINTED, THERE ARE FEW GRAND HOMES WHERE YOU WILL FEEL MORE WELCOME OR MORE COMFORTABLE. WHETHER SITTING ON THE BALCONY ENJOYING THE VIEW FROM THE PRIVATE OCEAN COVE OR NESTLED IN THE COZY DEN WATCHING A MOVIE ON A LARGE FLAT SCREEN TELEVISION, IT WILL BE TOUGH TO EVEN WANT TO VENTURE TOO FAR FROM YOUR OASIS. BUT JUST FOOTSTEPS FROM THE FRONT DOOR: A PARK IDEAL FOR WEDDINGS, A BEACH THAT'S THE BEST IN TOWN, AND SOME OF LAGUNA'S MOST SOUGHT AFTER SHOPS AND RESTAURANTS. We are forever spoiled after staying at this wonderful beach house. My husband and I have stayed in many places around the world and this was by far one of the nicest houses. This house was totally decked out- from the kitchen to the bathrooms to the bedding. There really was no reason to leave unless to go to the beach which was a short walk past ice plants and fragrant jasmine. The views are amazing and we felt like we were in Europe. The sound of the waves crashing and the ocean breeze just topped everything off. We WILL be back!

Stepping into this house feels like entering a fairy tale, and it is so much more than the pictures capture. The house feels like a cross between being on a yacht (balcony view is ocean into the horizon), and a modern castle on a cliff... needless to say, it was automatically relaxing! Thank you so much for a much-needed escape from the dreary winter of Seattle!

I've visited the house a few times and am always amazed at its ability to transform itself. We attended a gorgeous, intimate wedding there--and the place was nothing less than elegant and stately. I've subsequently been back--with a group of friends for a weekend-long reunion--and the house was intimate, warm and relaxed. We cooked up a storm in the kitchen, we spent hours upon hours on the porch watching the seals, the birds, and the sunset, and we all slept late in those fabulous hotel-like beds. I can't wait for my next visit.

Having spent several days and nights here, I can now die happy. (Note: Forgive the melodrama, but this is a space that commands superlatives of such intensity). For me, this house was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Never before or since have I found myself in such a majestic space. Both the architecture and the decor are, quite simply, perfect. Couple that with the stunning location provided by Mother Nature... the result exceeds even the most glowing description. Words don't do it justice. This place is out of a movie, or out of a dream. Call me crazy, but I'm convinced that that sparkle off the bay at sunset is more than just water - it's a little bit of magic in the air that you won't find anywhere else.

We have had the wonderful opportunity to vacation at this magical North Laguna Beach house on the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean several times and it has always lived up to it's description. It is so relaxing and refreshing. All of the interiors are so lovely designed and the spaces well thoughtout. We love the modern kitchen and all the up to date appliances and wireless internet. The house and patios are so lovely we rarely venture off the property. But when we do, situated in North Laguna, it's just a short drive to the wonderful shops restuarants of Crystal Cove and a short walk to downtown Laguna Beach. PARADISE is all we can say. We hope to visit very soon!

I married in Los Angeles on October 30th and took the house for our honeymoon. It could not have been a better setting or a more private setting. Sitting in a cul-de-sac, there is no traffic, no noise except for the ocean crashing on the rocks below. The house is clean and comfortable, and the kitchen is stocked with good equipment for cooking. We are hoping to be able to use this property again.
