Activities and Attractions
On The widest part (Southern end of the Island)of the white sugar beach! Para-sailing, jet skiing, fishing, are all available on the beach. Everything is within walking distance, movie theater, stores, restaurants, 7-11 is near the top of the street. Time square is approx. 3.5 miles by trolley or bike! This is a family themed island.
A short drive, walk, or the Town Trolley, will take you to the public pier known as Time Square for shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Also available in this area is fishing off the 600' pier, or one can charter a boat and captain for a half or full day at sea.
The "Big-M" gambling boat departs daily (11 a.m. and 6p.m.) from Tuesday-Sunday. Buffet meals are available.
There are over 65 golf courses all within an hours drive from the beach.
Located just over the bridge to the south is Lover's Key, one of the most beautiful nature preserves in the state.
Nearby, Fort Myers is host to the Thomas Edison Winter Home. Mr. Edison's home laboratory is just as he left it 75 years ago and directly across the street is the Henry Ford Estate. Both are available for touring.
Also nearby, shopping, shopping, shopping! Coconut Point, Gulf Coast Town Center, Shops at Waterside, Edison Mall, Miromar and Tanger Outlet Malls.
And, did you know that Fort Myers is the spring training home for the Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Sox?
To the north, beautiful Sanibel Island is just 25 minutes away - the "Seashell Capital of the World".
To the south, Naples is nearby, where you may find the Naples Zoo as well as a beautiful downtown area for shopping and dining.

Great space, amazing beach, fantastic vacation!

Where do I start with this beautiful home? First of all, the photos do NOT do this place justice. The entire space was very spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Linens and towels fresh smelling, soft and of high quality. Kitchen had everything that a foodie might need to prepare gourmet meals. The furniture all very comfortable with Flat Panel TV's, Hi Def cable DVD players, and blazing fast WI-FI. We all loved the screened in porch for morning coffee and evening cocktails (and lounging in between.) The outside deck overlooked one of the best (in my opinion) stretches of beach on the island. The location of this house is relatively far south which was perfect for us. We were 1 mile from a Publix market and never encountered any traffic getting to the places we wanted to go because we stayed clear of North Island due to all the tourists and tacky shops that appealed to the younger college crews. We vacationed with my cousins and their 3 children (2 teens, 1 toddler.) The divided layout of the space with the master suite on the opposite side from the other 2 suites was great to maintain privacy and keep sound levels localized. It wasn't mentioned in the description other than in the properties name, the place had an actual elevator that you could use to transport your luggage (and yourself) up and down. That came in very handy when you pack like we do. Within short walking distance of the house was 2 outside bars that had live music playing most days (Tiki Bar & Pincher's Crab shack) a 7-11 convenience store, and several great restaurants and shops. The property manager (Jim) lived right across the street and was extremely friendly and helpful in pointing out nearby things to do and see. We definitely recommend this properties to anyone considering a stay at Ft. Myers beach. We all agreed that we would love to come back to this place again next year and hopefully years to come.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
