  The home and pics were as advertised. We took a family vacation to DC and decided to stay in this house. It had plenty of room more than we needed with seven of us but that was what we wanted. My kids enjoyed the game room very much and we even used the movie room a couple of times. Because we are from CA we operated in CA time which worked well as we avoided all the traffic into DC and stayed out late. In traffic the time needed to get into DC can been long. You will have to weight that against being closer by. All in all we had a great time in DC and found parking to be not so bad.

  This is the perfect house for a family or friends visit to the DC area. I drove in about 4;30pm & looked into the wooded, private backyard to see 2 deer grazing along the creek. What a welcome! ..and they came back each evening...Then I entered the house...WOW! Wood, marble & travertine flooring throughout the house. Tall ceilings, lots of windows, granite countertops, gas stove/oven, micro, dishwasher, oversize refridgerator & most any appliance you would want..including a coffee bean grinder! Some spices provided, plenty of dishes, cookware, etc! Island work station too. Large rooms with nice furniture & decor. Large open kitchen with breakfast area - table seats 14 & looks out to the wooded backyard. Plus a round table to seat 4 - 6 more as part of the kitchen area. Perfect place to gather when preparing meals or self-serve breakfast, dinner, etc. I was there with 11 adult family members for a funeral at Arlington National Cemetery. This house was perfect for us to gather, reminisce & still have privacy. 15 minute driveto/from Hunnington Metro Station with plenty of parking for $4.95 day. 1/2hr - 45 min drive to Regan National Airport. 1 mile to the grocery store & strip mall with package store, dollar store, radio shack, etc., including a nail place for mani/pedi in case you didn't get to do that before leaving home...I didn't so I was glad it was there. Very convenient! The house is amazing...Downstairs are 2 bedrooms with a full & twin bed in EACH bedroom. A LARGE full bath with double sinks & LARGE walk in sauna shower. There is also a wet bar, full size pool table, air hockey table & fooseball table plus a media area with seating. We attached our laptop to the media center & reminisced while viewing family pictures...watched movies on it too. On the Main floor, is another bedroom with full bed & full bath..along with that huge kitchen/breakfast area & den, plus a formal living room & dining room, plus a sunroom. Upstairs 4 bedrooms...2 bedrooms with a queen bed & flat screen tv in each & a full bathroom connecting them. Another bedroom with king bed, flat screen tv & private full bathroom with double sinks & jetted tub/shower. Plus a large master bedroom with king size bed, large master bath with double sink area, walk in sauna shower & separate jacuzzi tub. Master also has large" office area" with fouton bed. Separate air/heat for each floor. Highly recommended >7 large bedrooms, 5 full baths. room to gather & roam.

  We brought a group of 18 to the DC area for service projects. After a hard days work, it was amazing to come back to such a comfy and well furnished house. The large kitchen and dining room were able to accommodate our large team, plus there was room for everyone to rest at night. The downstairs was a fun time for our group to play games and watch movies. Thanks for a wonderful time!

  My family and I were in search of the perfect place to stay for Thansgiving week. We are a big group, nine children and seven adults. The kids were being taken out of school for the whole week, and this was a full vacation week for the adults. We really wanted something very special and very large for this week that was of great importance to everyone in the family. And we found it in this excellent home! I am in property management and am very fussy about my own surroundings. This home fit the bill. This large, very handsome home is on a cup-de-sac in a neighborhood of similar homes. The approach is lovely and sets the stage for this beautiful property. One of the things that we all enjoyed was just sitting in front of the massive kitchen windows and looking out at the gorgeous view in the back yard. Beautiful woods and a lovely little stream going through them. On entering the home there is a dramatic two story foyer which sets the stage fo this 7000 plus square foot home. We needed a lot of space and got it. Two adults and four children slept comfortably on the lower level. One adult had a double room on the first floor. And nine of us shared the large bedrooms and loft on the upstairs. As adults we were delighted to be together but also be able to retreat to private space if we so desired. There is plenty of space for togetherness and for privacy. The kids just LOVED being in such a huge home. The perfect place for hide and seek. The game room on the first level was very popular with the kids and guys, and the inhome theater was a hit. We brought movies from home, but with two markets easily accessible, we could have gotten something from red box. As we were sixteen, we ate most of the meals at the house. The kitchen was just the best...it had every conceivable appliance large and small, and there was a table large enough to seat all of us. We hired a photographer to take group family pictures at the home and there were several different spots within the home that worked well for these pictures. We did hours of touring in DC, and at the end of the day we were all thrilled to get back to this wonderful space. The last day of our vacation we all just stayed "home" and enjoyed each other in Mike and Lynn's home. And speaking of Mke and Lynn, they were terrific to deal with...easy to talk to, immediately responsive and taking care of anyhng that might need a bit of attention. This house played a huge role in our wonderful vacation

  My family was impacted by Hurrican Sandy. We were without power, heat and needed a place to go at the very last minute. The owners of this house was incredibly accomodating and helpful. The property was absolutely beautiful and perfect for a large family. There furnishings are simple, beautiful and exactly what any larger group would need for a fabulous vacation. I would recommend this house to absolutely anyone.

  We came to DC for a short vacation with my brother's family and our kids ages (3-5). The home had 7 bedrooms and 5 baths which accommodated our family very comfortable. The chef’s kitchen was large enough to prepare home cooked meals for the whole family. Our favorite part about the home was the dining table that allowed us to fit 16 family members for meals. The kids had their own game room that allowed us to have our own privacy. Additionally, we enjoyed movie nights on the 110’ projector screen that kept the kids occupy during the nights. The listing is very accurate conveniently located near groceries and a short distance to downtown DC attraction. We would love to rent this home again if we have our next family reunion. Thanks Mike and Lynn for renting your home out to us.

  Great location, beautiful home. Everything that is described in the listing is accurate and owner is very easy to work with. Grocery store and various fast- food restaurants within minutes of property. Security deposit was refunded within one week. Would definately recommend this property. We used the house as a "home base" for our extended family while we were in DC for our son's wedding.

• Plenty of Room!!!

  We had 13 people in our group- 4 adults and 9 children. This house was awesome for our group-because it had plenty of room for kids and adults. The kids were more excited about staying at the "big house" than going to DC.:) The owners were extremely accomodating and helpful--on multiple occasions. The house was clean and very well equipped in the kitchen. Our only negative was the location of the house. We thought it was quite a distance from the metro station- 45 minutes during business morning rush hr and 25 minutes without traffic, then we still had a 20 minute commute into the city. So- we just decided to drive into the city AFTER rush hour. BUT- this house was so huge that it was worth the extra drive time. (Plus- we saw deer in the backyard on muliptle occasions)

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children.

As with any major metropolitan, travel times vary and usually take longer during rush hour. Typical travel time to metro station should take approximately 10 minutes and another 15+ minutes subway ride to Downtown DC. Travel by car would be longer during rush hour traffic as it's inevitable and unavoidable. Please see previous guest comments posted.

  The house was great for our needs. We loved the area in the kitchen where we spent most of our time after returning from a day of sightseeing. We enjoyed seeing all the sites we had only read about. Our "behind the Scenes" tour of the National Cathedral was outstanding as was our walking tours with DC by Foot. The house had plenty of parking for our cars and once we learned how to get to the Metro Station, the trip to downtown was a snap.
