Wood interiors, rock & stone, and natural fabrics combine in our custom home inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s 1938 Jester house. Most rooms are entirely circular. The spacious interior is perfect for yoga, meditation, writing, acoustic music making. The elevated balconies lift the spirits with panoramic garden and ocean views. The property is 1.5 acres of environmentally friendly grounds with pockets of wilderness, tropical plantings and an orchid grotto nestled in the banyan tree. The BEDROOM SUITES have queen size round beds and private baths. Bathrooms are tiled in slate with open showers. In keeping with the natural elements of the house, all linens are of fine cotton quality. Plan to cook in and enjoy the warmth of our wooded DINING ROOM. The LIVING ROOM features a sweeping circular sofa where you can lounge and enjoy ocean views or watch a movie. Furnishings are mostly built in accented with mid century designer pieces and Asian antiques.
UPDATE 2012: During the winter 2011-12 the house received extensive exterior and interior renovations including restorations of the west columns and roof repairs. The interior venetian plaster was renewed in the living room, hallways and kitchen. We strive to maintain an understated elegance defined by simplicity, mid century modernity and minimalism. Current guest reviews are featured on our web site at www.HouseOfSacredCircles.com.
We are a short walk to one of the most private beaches on the North Shore (500 feet to Keiki Beach) and a surf break away from world famous Pipeline. You will cross the bike path on the way to the beach. The bike path is safe for children and stretches from Waimea Bay to Sunset Beach.
Less than 5 miles away is Haleiwa town, a combination of Hawaiian country charm and regional arts and crafts. You will find Balinese goods, Brazilian bikinis, fresh leis, local art work, dress shops, black pearls, skateboard and surf shops representing the Hawaiian style and much more. Restaurants are casual and geared to early dining. The Coffee Gallery cafe serves fresh Hawaiian coffee and Celestial Foods is the place to find locally grown organics. You can also find fresh produce at The Country Market on Saturday mornings at Sunset Beach Elementary School (less than a mile away)....Our property is central to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Waimea Falls Park, across from the bay, is an 1800 acre nature park and you can swim in the water falls....At the top of the Park on the hill you will find Puu O Mahuka Heiau, Oahu's largest ancient temple ruin that covers nearly 2 acres. Today it is still recognized and protected as a historical landmark.
Concerning children: Due to the use of large panes of glass in the doors, concrete stairways, high balconies and stone ledges, the house may not be suitable for young children. However older children will find the garden delightful. On the property there are pockets of wilderness, wonderful for exploring; there is a sacred grove of gnarly old trees (beware of thorns), rocks and boulders for climbing, flowers for gazing, all alive for the imaginative. Layout of the bedrooms at the south (master suite) and north (blue suite and green room) poles of the house provides privacy. Additional photos at www.HouseOfSacredCircles.com.
All 3 bedrooms feature round beds that are approximately queen size. The MASTER suite has a private bath and a private balcony with ocean views. The BLUE bedroom suite has a connecting bathroom. The GREEN bedroom has a walk-in closet and is directly next to the third bathroom.

Poised on the northernmost tip of Oahu, Turtle Bay Golf is the perfect choice for the golfer who wants to escape Honolulu and Waikiki. The George Fazio Course has hosted the LPGA Tour's Hawaiian Open and was the site of the first Senior Skins Game and Big Break V. George Fazio's only golf course in Hawaii was re-opened in the spring of 2002 and is known to have some of the best greens on the island of Oahu. Holes #6,7,11,12 are all situated near the Ocean. About the owner: I am a composer/performer/harpist and have performed my works around New York City in such unlikely places as CBGB's (now gone, what a loss!), the old Mother, Arlene's Grocery, Slipper Room, the New York and Philadelphia Fringe Festivals, and more recently at the International Conferences for Deep Listening in Troy, NY. The co owner, Anthony, is a painter of landscapes and more abstract large works and restores antique motorcycles. He used to build custom bikes in Hawaii and has won some awards. He also built the house.
Hawaii was the perfect antidote to urban living and continues to be so. Many changes are happening on the North Shore and hopefully the area will retain some of its rural qualities. Presently I reside in rural Central Pennsylvania and share my home in Hawaii with the lucky ones.
Why the Owner Chose Waimea Bay: Okay, the house is special and has certain idiosyncrasies like, amplification. Complaints are rare but recently we had one of our worst rental experiences where sound was an issue. We have had an occasional complaint about the birds! It is curious that the circular form creates a soft acoustic spot in the center of each room. Because each room is circular you can experience this by walking, turning and listening in the center of the room. I am not sure of the physics involved though if you know of an explanation please contact me. I am sure that this spot and the predominance of wood in the interior creates multiple resonant sounding rooms. What does this mean to our guests? Amplification and not only of the physically generated sounds but of the more subtle emotional and intuitive sound states. For example, intentful behavior can be accentuated and concentrated to levels of obsession. This I have experienced personally and observed in less than desirable guests. The house is not for everyone and if this strikes you as uncomfortable, scary or unattractive, then our home is not for you.
On the other side of the room so to speak, there is harmony, healing, joy and bliss. I believe it is what you bring to it and it will be amplified. If this appeals to you I believe you will enjoy your stay immensely and maybe have a unique and wondrous experience.
If non of the above apply there is still the opportunity to enjoy evening sunsets, a walk to the beach, spaciousness and the unique experience of living in the round.
Our home is owner built, it is quirky and not at all perfect but we love our home and most of all the land. We are happy to share it with kindred minded, hearted guests.
The Unique Benefits at this House: We are the owners of this home, not rental agents.
The house is always in a state of progress. We strive to keep the house clean and use non toxic bug control but it is an open structure compared to traditional buildings.
We hope to do some cosmetic renovations this Spring 2015.
