The beach is great. The snorkeling is fantastic. The younger children love the pirate pool and the older children love the slide. The Westin provides free parking and shuttle service to other locations such as shopping, restaurants and downtown.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend renting from Dan or staying at the Westin Villas. Dan was professional, prompt and went out of his way to help us with the entire process. I've rented a lot using VRBO and unfortunately sometimes owners are not equal. He is definitely a 5 star owner. As far as the Westin Villas goes is was located very well on a gorgeous beach with plenty of pools! (pool slide, etc...) Just so you know, you don't know what specific unit you're getting ahead of time. We ended up in the South side with a great ocean view. FABULOUS! They have a free shuttle to take you to more local spots to shop and eat. (Whalers village, Lahaina) Very easy to use and convenient for teens. The Westin valet did damage our rental car so I would definitely check it before and after. They took care of it eventually but it was a bit of a hassle. Really this could happen at any hotel. If I could point out one negative it would be that the hotel does not enforce their jacuzzi spa rules. There were tons of toddlers in diapers and young children in them. We went to all 5 spas looking for one without any with no success. However, this would not prevent me from staying here again because the spacious beautiful facilities with a picture perfect sandy beach is why I go to Hawaii...not a spa. ;) Stores and restaurants on site are pricey. The happy hour at the pool bar is perfect. We went there almost daily. We did most of our food shopping at the Costco near the airport which was easy. Bottom Line: I'D DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN AND STAY HERE!! (last year stayed at Honua Kai next door, although very nice, I'd stay here renting through Dan if I had a choice between the two)
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, girls getaway, families with young children, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Good morning Dan & Susan, We just wanted to let you know that we just got back from Maui and the trip was amazing. As you said in an earlier email "You guys will love it".. It was better than I could have ever imagined and the resort was spectacular. They ended up letting us check in early and gave us an Ocean Front Room, because we were getting married. We just wanted to thank you again for a life changing vacation. My family loved every minute , especially the Road to Hana, where we swam under a waterfall. It was a vacation that was good for the soul and we took in every minute of it. We have been many places, including the pyramids in Egypt and I must say that Maui is definitely the best.... I have convinced my wife that we will be going back (soon) :) Thanks for everything again and we will definitely contact you if and when we do return. Thanks a million Stephen & Valerie

Dear Mr. Thorlakson: I am writing these few lines to thank you for the wonderful vacation we had in Maui:The lock-up apartments were great, excellent location & view, the general Hotel atmosphere,the great discounts we got at the Supermarket,thanks to your card, the marvellous dinner we had at the Lahaina Grill and you even managed to arrange a beautiful sunny weather every single day of our visit. Again, thank you very much and hopefully we can do some other arrangements like this at some other time.
