The perfect island retreat. Hale Maha Maluhia is a newly built house near Lava Tree State Park. Just 30 minutes from Hilo International Airport. It has granite countertops, bamboo floors throughout, and island-style furnishings. This house is very quiet and relaxing. The kitchen has everything you need to make your own gourmet meals at home or you can drive 5 minutes to Old Pahoa Town where there are many great restaurants. Two of the bedrooms have queen beds, one has two twins, and each room has a ceiling fan. There is also a full-size futon.
This area of the Big Island is lush and green year round. There are many great attractions near by but the most fascinating is the lava flow that is about a 20 minute drive from the house. There is a public hot pond 15-minutes away at Ahalnui Beach Park, it is an amazing geothermal-heated tidepool. This is a safe place to swim for young and old. You can also head down the road to Pohoiki Bay, where locals surf, boogieboard, fish, and watch spectacular tropical sunsets. There is also snorkeling in the marine sanctuary tidepools at Kapoho. Volcano National Park Known for it’s fabulous hikes into the craters, lava tubes, and steam vents is less than an hour away.
