Cliff Cottage was an exceptional place to spend a few days unwinding. The privacy, seclusion and views were fantastic -- yet there was a very warm welcome from the hosts for us AND our dog. There were fresh flowers in the room and a selection of snacks and beverages for us to enjoy. Since we had been quite delayed in our arrival, this was especially nice; it's also a personal touch that we have not found at any other VRBO. There was even a treat basket for our dog! While Cliff Cottage was located in a very private area, it was also quite convenient for sightseeing on the Olympic Peninsula. Many thanks for a relaxing few days!

We settled into your cottage and it immediately felt like home. Thank you, Kathryn and Roger, for your warm hospitality. Everything was perfect and we enjoyed every minute of our stay from the exquisite views to the peacefulness to the daily walks in your lovely neighborhood. Thanks, too, for the treats for Zoey. It's not often that dogs are treated so royally while traveling. We spent a lot of time in Port Townsend but the cottage was so relaxing that we would have been happy never leaving! Anyone who's considering staying here should do so. They won't be disappointed.

I didn't want to give a 5-star rating. I don't trust 5-star ratings. But I couldn't come up with a reason to knock off a star. My only complaint is that the place is exactly as advertised, and I was hoping for a bit more room. :) It's two medium-sized cozy rooms with an attached sun room and a patio, all with a great view across the straight. It quiet, cozy and perfect for one or two people who want to spend some time alone, with or without jaunts to other places on the Olympic Peninsula. My wife and I spend two weeks in May there. She sat at the table looking over the straight writing, and got a lot of work done. During her "days off" we explored the surrounding area, including Olympic National Park and Victoria, B.C. I was worried that it might be too small for two people for two weeks; it was not. I was worried that it would not be quiet and secluded enough since it is attached via the sun room to the owner's house; it was not. I was worried that the view might be lacking; it was not. And of course I was worried that it would not live up to the description on here on VRBO; it did. And yes, we would stay there again. Port Townsend was a great base to explore the peninsula and this was a great quiet retreat.

The Cliff Cottage has views that would not be tiresome after a lifetime of waking up each day to ... the added touches that Kathryn and Roger bring to the cottage make this the most-perfect spot for a couple wanting to do nothing but relax! It's comfortable, cozy, sweet and the views are absolutely spectacular. Every time I've rented from vrbo.com, it's been with a bit of anticipation that the rental might not be as great as described, but the Cliff Cottage has been the best of any yet! Highly recommended for any couple wanting to reconnect, just meeting, needing a honeymoon or anniversary place ... or just because!

Cliff Cottage is a great choice for a couple or "singleton" looking to get away from it all for the weekend. It's a quick drive into PTownsend, too (less than 10 minutes it felt like). It's a cozy, suite-like cottage, but the vaulted ceilings and expansive view keep it from feeling boxy (looks true to the pictures posted). Also, you have exclusive use of the attached sunroom so you can change venue if needed. My husband and I spent a lovely afternoon reading in the warm sunroom and watching the rain on the water on a very soggy weekend visit. Make sure to bring your suit since the hot tub is right outside your door, but make sure it's well heated up before you get in which we didn't think about doing so we got a bit of a lukewarm soak! Your hosts are very thoughtful--there were drinks in the fridge and a basket of snacks and wine, flowers, etc. to make things feel special. They give you your space but are there if you need them. Kitchenette & small fridge work well for cooking simple meals and the rest you can eat out in town. All in all, a nice escape for some R&R when you just want to hole away and do nothing!

We had a lovely weekend away from the hustle and bustle and were able to enjoy some peace and quiet. This cozy little cabin offered some much needed peace and quiet along with a spectacular view. If you are looking to relax- look no further, but if you want fast pace and night life - keep looking because this is a place of pure relaxation! Our host made a nice weekend into a perfectly wonderful one. The room is small but decorated beautifully. All necessary items were available for our use as well as a hot tub and robes.

We stayed for 2 nights and wished it could have been longer. The cottage is beautiful, charming, immaculate and welcoming. A wonderful basket of goodies awaited us, and Kathryn made us a yummy lemon cherry cake too! Fresh flowers adorned the table - they thought of everything for our comfort and enjoyment. The views were spectacular, the gardens relaxing, the quietness amazing. We loved the decor and all the knick-knacks, which made it seem like home. We'll recommend this gem to everyone, and we'll be back.

Dear Kathryn and Roger, Leslie and I loved our six days in the Cliff Cottage. The place is perfect for a couple. The bed is cozy, the robes are sumptuous, the view is stunning, and the thoughtfulness and care you put into your place and your guests' comfort is, to coin a phrase, "Above the Norm," just as the place is Above the Water. Way above the norm. The little ditty on the bureau says it perfectly!
