The home also faces west for beautiful sunsets over the lake. 1340 acre Squirrel lake is known as a premier fishing lake for walleye, Muskie, bass and pan fish and is located 8 miles west of Minocqua Wi. Since there are over one thousand lakes in the area the lake is not heavily used and if you want to water ski or fish you'll be impressed with the beauty of this lake. We have a new all aluminum dock with ladder for your personal use. We also have a paddle boat and 2 kayaks for your use and enjoyment.
The fall and winter have their own special appeal. Come up for the beautiful fall colors and fantastic fishing or just to relax and unwind.The beauty and solitude of our location is truly therapeutic and what I like to call "exhale country" because the stress seems to leave with-in hours of arriving up here. For the winter the fun and activities continue. We are only 3 mi. from Minocqua winter park which is renowned for cross country skiing. The snowmobile trails are 1/2 mi. from our lake home and there are hundreds of miles of trails to enjoy. We are a family with 4 sons and 3 grandchildren. I have been a homebuilder for 30 years and my wife has recently gone back to "work" after being a mother, homemaker .... and really loves working with seniors. Family comes first and we always look forward to our annual trip where all of us get together for 1 week at our lakehome. I spend more time upnorth than anyone and really enjoy working and improving our property.The home was built by myself, my wife,and our sons and was a labor of love.
Why the Owner Chose Minocqua
I was looking for a vacant lake lot for about a year and had heard about squirrel lake from my brother-inlaw who had stayed at jansen's
resort back in the late 80's. As soon as I saw the property I knew without question this was where I would build our lakehome. And the lake and area has surpassed even my expectations.
