The Trout House is at the epicenter of some of the best flyfishing in the Rockies, and "flyfishing IS spoken here". Anglers enjoy floating the Yellowstone River, fishing gin clear mountain streams, or matching their skills with wary spring creek trout on DePuy, Armstrong, or Nelson Spring Creeks. We offer fly fishers the chance to hook true 5 pounders on Shiloh's Pond right behind the main house. The fabled rivers and streams of Yellowstone National Park, the Gardner, Lamar, Soda Butte and Slough Creek to name a few, are only a short distance up the Valley. The fishing doesn’t get any better than here. After a day of hiking, fishing, trail riding, exploring, or skiing you can schedule a relaxing in house massage, before slipping into the stream side spa.

The abundance and variety of wildlife is what makes this Rocky Mountain location so exceptional. Bring your binoculars and camera, as, depending on the season, you'll have the opportunity to see mule deer, elk, wolves, mountain goats, big horn sheep, white tail deer, bear, moose, and mountain lion. There are numerous bird species in Paradise Valley including, American bald and golden eagles, owls, hawks, falcons, wading birds, four species of hummingbird, and song birds, including our state bird, the melodious western meadowlark.

The Trout House is exquisitely furnished, beautifully appointed, and perfectly located for your Montana adventure. We welcome your inquiry.

VRBO Bear stayed here - 07/02/2010 What can I say but…Wow! I had the pleasure of visiting Paradise Valley, MT, near Gardiner and the North entrance to Yellowstone National Park. While the area is beautiful by itself, my experience was memorable for one reason: The Trout House!

This log cabin, nestled in the valley between majestic mountain ranges, is the perfect destination for relaxation and outdoor adventures. The Trout House (very appropriately named for the angler décor and close proximity to great fly fishing destinations) is clean, spacious, and extremely comfortable. Your eyes are drawn to the wonderful slate fireplace and then immediately to the modern and fully equipped kitchen. Your family or group of fishing buddies will enjoy all the comforts of home.

I’m always looking for places to relax, and there is an abundance at The Trout House. Play board games in front of the fire, or head out onto the deck for outdoor dining and a soak in the hot tub. Read a book in the stream-side hammocks, or play a game of horseshoes. Sip your coffee on the front porch and watch the sunrise over the mountains. There is something for everyone here.

The experience was made even more enjoyable because of the hospitality of the owners. They are very welcoming and live nearby. If you’re looking for local activities, you don’t even need to plan ahead as the owners provide information for a wide range of places to visit.

If you’re thinking about visiting Paradise Valley, look no further. The Trout House is the place you want to be!
