My husband and my 7 year old daughter stayed here for 4 days in March. We were very happy with the accommodations. The house has plenty of space, very cozy and it was really clean. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a great meal. The path to the beach is right outside the house, and we couldn't get enough beach walking in. A beautiful beach and to my daughter delight she found 5 whole sand dollars! Property is in the perfect location..between Santa Cruz and Monterey. Joe is a very gracious owner..Would and have recommended this property to friend... was fantastic!!! Cant wait to come back! Thank you Joe!

We were joined by a couple of friends at the Sand Dollar house to welcome in the New Year. The house was warm and welcoming, *fastidiously clean* and uncluttered. A lovely place to relax after long walks on the beach where we spotted dolphins leaping just beyond the waves. Wintertime proved an excellent season for visiting La Selva Beach as the area is uncrowded and quiet. The ocean view from the house was a clear delight and remained a constant invitation to stretch our legs by the sea. The kitchen area (from which one can also see the ocean) made preparing meals a joy as it opens to the dining room, which in turn opens to the spacious living room with comfortable seating. We easily found everything needed to make our stay the most enjoyable we've ever experienced in a rental home. Any questions we had during the reservation process were quickly answered and the entire arrangement was handled in a most friendly and professional manner. We highly recommend a stay at the Sand Dollar house!

Great house, perfect location just a quick walk to the beach! Two nice size bedrooms and also a futon worked great for us sleeping 3 couples. Comfortable couch and fold out mattress were also available to sleep two singles. While the location might be more suitable to family getaways, it worked great for us late 20 somethings too (we were in town for a friend's wedding)!

My wife and I enjoyed a week in this spacious home, sharing it with my cousin and his wife. The house is well furnished and very clean, and the owner is responsive, interested and helpful. The floor plan provides comfort and privacy, with the main living area upstairs, and a large bed/bath/living area below. Upstairs is a large living/dining/kitchen area, with the kitchen overlooking the dining area and the deck beyond. The adjoining master bed/bath area is also very spacious and comfortable. From the upstairs deck are views of the ocean and surrounding community. The path down to the ocean is next to the house, and the beach area is both expansive and private. La Selva Beach is conveniently located between Santa Cruz and Monterey/Carmel, so access to the numerous restaurants, markets, golf courses and points of interest is quick and easy. A close-by restaurant in Aptos, that immediately became a favorite, is Bittersweet Bistro and Cafe. Our intention is to visit this wonderful place as often as possible.

What a blessing to be able to go to the beach for the weekend with friends in a lovely home with all the amenities. There is nothing I would change about the house, it is as described. Everything was clean and well kept (except for tears in the sliding screens). I would definitely recommend this house as a vacation spot.

This was an awesome place to stay for our "girls weekend away"! The bed on the upper floor was very comfortable. The clean house is in a quiet neighborhood and the view of the ocean from the balcony was beautiful. I enjoyed looking at the sunrise from the living room. It had just a short, but steep hike to the beach, which wasn't too crowded, even on one of the first beautiful weekends of the year. I would definitely come here again.

We spent a week here between Xmas and New Year's. It is a block from the beach, so you hear the surf and have easy access to miles of white sand beach and waves. The house has a view, including out to the Monterey Peninsula. Kitchen has all the appliances you could need, and a dish washer. The bi-level structure is nice--with bedroom and lounging areas on both levels. The owners are responsive, considerate. We used this as a jumping off point for accessing Monterey, Salinas, and Santa Cruz, and also as a base for cycling, so it was very convenient for us, but you do need a car to get to any restaurants/stores--it is just a residential neighborhood. Great if that is what you are looking for (and we were).

It's a great property for people with families. My husband and I stayed upstairs and our daughter and grandchildren downstairs. The kitchen was well-stocked. It's very bright and airy and a great area upstairs for playing games. They did not have many games so would suggest you bring some with you. The beach is very private, not a bad walk down but can leave you breathless coming back up the incline. Of course, the kids could run up and down all day. Would definitely stay there again.

Our family had an awesome week at the beach house. We had plenty of room, great ammenities and we definitly enjoyed the deck. We collected several dozen sand dollars from the beach and loved long walks along the ocean. Joe was an awesome help whenever we had questions. Thanks for making our stay so easy. We enjoyed our stay-- the house was perfect! There was plenty of room, a lovely view of the ocean, and a great kitchen in which to prepare meals. We appreciated the proximity to the water and the quiet neighborhood. Probably the best thing for us was the location on the Monterey Bay. We were minutes from fabulous beaches and reasonable drives to Santa Cruz, the redwoods, and Monterey. All in all, this was a great choice and I would recommend the house to anyone coming through the area.

Joe's rental turned out great for our family. The house is clean and well maintained as well as spacious. The layout is very flexible and the kitchen is well supplied. The weather wasn't great but if it is better next time, we will be making more use of the deck and bbq. The neighbors were friendly and we even had an Easter egg hunt in the community garden behind the house (which is gorgeous)! We used the house as a base for day trips to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and the Monterey Bay Aquarium and a pick-your-own strawberry adventure (two toddlers along with us). The house was an outstanding value all around.

Our group of friends stayed in your guest house over the weekend of Feb 26-27. The view is outstanding of the ocean. The home was very clean, with all the amenities that were needed for our stay. I liked the fact that the home is located about 100 feet above the water level with houses between us and the Pacific Ocean. Thank you for having such a superb accommodation for us.

This home is BEAUTIFUL and spacious and very close to the beach... beyond our expectations! Everything was clean and well kept. The kitchen had everything we needed, and having the bedding and towels already provided for was an added bonus. It was an incredibly fun and relaxing weekend. We will definitely consider renting here again. THANKS!!!!
