  I stayed at Mi Casa for about a month in April 2013. It was very close to the main strip in West End but far enough away to enjoy some peace and quite. The house was very clean and a GREAT value. I hope to be back regularly.

  This was the second year that family members have stayed at Mi Casa. This was so delightful, close enough to the attractions on West End, yet far enough away that you rarely heard anything (except the roosters). My communications with both the owner and the site manager were great! They did as much as they could to answer our questions and to make our visit great. It was great having a kitchen to cook in (although the oven temp was in C rather than the F). We paid extra to have the house cleaned mid-week (we were on vacation after all). We did rent a car this time (to explore the island) and you should know that the road up to the house is a bit rough and (of course) not paved. It's a short walk to town to some great restaurants and bars. The dive shops and snorkel areas are fantastic (Tyll's/Splash Inn). We drove into Coxen Hole to do our main grocery shopping at Eldons. The options for buying gluten free food were fantastic. Don't bother bringing that stuff (or any "health-foods") from home. We've made a lot of friends in the West End over the years we've been going there, so we'll be back. I'd gladly return tomorrow; but I have to wait until next year.

  My wife, son, and I recently visited West End and enjoyed our stay in Mi Casa. In addition to the 3 of us, for a few days 5 other people shared the home, and we still did not feel crowded. The house is about a 5 minute walk to the main road and beach in West End. Other positives about the house include a nice covered deck in the back of the house, a spacious fully equipped kitchen, large bathroom and a washing machine. The only negatives were there is only one bathroom, the roosters get crowing about 4 am every morning. Also, I was bit by a neighbors dog although, admittedly I was walking though their yard, and 3 pairs of shoes were stolen off the front porch during the night while we were all sleeping. Overall however, we would definitely consider renting the house again in the future.

  Mi Casa served the needs for our group of 8. The owner and property manager were very pleasant and easy to work with. I did not feel misguided by any information that was provided by them or on the website, however, it was a little crammed with 8 people. I would definitely recommend staying here with a smaller group. Also, there was a broken part on the toilet for most of the week, which they were working to fix, but still left us with that minor inconvenience. The rest of the house was in good order, it was in a good location and we enjoyed our stay.

  A very nice & roomy 2 Bedroom House that is fairly well furnished. There was a very good selection of kitchen & laundry appliances, dishes (mismatched though plenty), and tools (pots & pans could use an upgrade). There was an excellent selection of towels & linens and lots of ceiling and freestanding fans. No Air Conditioning so on warm & humid days, it was warm & humid and on cooler days, it was cooler & humid. The map on various web site shows the house location near the beach and the location was actually 2 blocks uphill off the beach (though that was not a problem for us). The location was quiet (minimal in town human noise) though there are roosters to get used to. Our stay was well handled by the owner and the local property manager took very good interest in us. Over the 3 weeks we happened into the manager about 6 times in town and she always said hi and checked that all was well. We took advantage of the Mi Casa cell phone that was provided for a nominal fee and was called about 3-4 times to ensure again if all was well and to arrange departure details. She set up our taxi from & to the airport and ensured we were on time for house arrival and airport departures. Check in & check out was very simple. We stayed at Mi Casa during the construction of the new paved road through West End which was nearly complete when we departed. This was / will be a significant change to the good for the whole area. The house location is near everything in West End (dive shops, small groceries, restaurants, trinket shops, and bars) and only a short walk for most. The water taxi dock to West Bay (go there for sure) is right at the end of the Mi Casa street. Most places have wifi internet and will give the router password if something is purchased, so we were always connected via email, etc. We are not divers but all we spoke with were pleased with all the various services they used. We snorkeled a lot at West Bay and found that to be right at spectacular. Bottom line: Pluses - Very Roomy, Well Equipped, New Appliances, Reasonably Priced, Fairly Comfortable, Central Location, Nice People, Lots of Linens, Exceeded Our Overall Expectations. Minuses: No A/C, Bring Bug Repellent (it's the tropics), Furniture Well Used & Lower End, Pots & Pans Well Used.

  I traveled with my best friend and her family. We had a 3 year old and 10 month old baby with us as well as her 3 daughters ages 17 to 26. The house was good for the little ones because it was spacious and easy to monitor them. The back balcony was safe with no danger of the 3 year old falling through the rails. The house was comfortable with easy access to the main street of the West End. It did get very hot and humid a few days during our time there and air conditioning would have been good, but for the most part the ceiling fans and the floor fans were sufficient. The description of the property was accurate and the place was clean and well maintained. The property manager was very helpful in the orientation to the house, community and helpful during our stay there as well. I would recommend this property and hope to return one day.

  We stayed for 10 days and felt so awesome in MiCasa. The house is humongous, the kitchen is excellent, the beds are comfy. No need for AC at anytime. The garden is luscious, the aromas of the tropics are head-spinning. Everything was just right: short walk from the Half Moon Bay with excellent snorkeling, the restaurants, the shops. We barely put any clothes on. Shoes and shirts not required to enter anywhere. We literary walk around the village barefoot. It felt so relaxing not to have to think that people are watching. "Relax, you are in West End" was the theme. The highlight was meeting people at "Sundowners", the local bar on the beach, watching a hockey game there and dancing under the stars to live music played by a hippie band. We also found an unbelievable place to enter the water to swim and snorkel. Its near the submarine station on the far side of Half Moon Bay. We bough fish from a local fisherman who uses nothing but hands and fishing line to reel them in using his century old wooden kayak. We ate wonderful Thai food at Thong's, absolutely deliciouso, even by the New York standards. We enjoyed sunsets at the far end of Half Mood Bay. Looking back at our stay there we all agree: IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE. Tanja (the property manager) was very helpful and prompt. The soundtrack of livestock chickens and roosters might be a bit of a nuisance at first but in a day we got used to it. I would recommend this stay for people who LIVE LIFE to its fullest.   We have just returned to Canada after our stay at Mi Casa.It was beyond all expectations.We couldn't have picked a better retreat so close to the beach and walking 40 minutes to West Bay.This area of West End is far superior to West Bay or any part of the eastern side of Roatan.We lounged in peace on the huge deck of Mi Casa listening to voices of Central American birds.We shopped in Coxen Hole to provide for cheaper foods and were fortunate to have Robert take us there upon arrival.I held back tears many times as I watched these poor hard working people happy with their simple life styles.Mi Casa is safe;Samantha,Tanja and Robert made our vacation so memorable along with the friendly native Roatan people in the area. Mi Casa is spotless thanks to Gladys-please leave her a good tip. You'll love this place as we did.I've travelled extensively through work and stayed at the Glitz-this beats them all. Dianne

  We stayed 3 weeks at Mi Casa and loved it! The house is very comfortable and homey. We really liked the big back porch with 2 hamocks. We took the kitchen table out on the porch for most of our meals. It is located approx 1 1/2 blocks from downtown- west end. Easy access to diving, dining, shopping, etc. The washing machine was a big plus for us. We packed lightly and just washed clothes as we needed. We used the kitchen for about 1/2 our meals. The kitchen had everything you need to cook. My husband was thankful for the coffee maker. I liked the micro-wave to heat up leftovers. The restaurant portions were often large enough to take home leftovers for another meal. In the evenings after a day of diving or sightseeing we enjoyed watching the cable TV or watching a movie from the DVD player. We very much enjoyed our stay at Mi Casa. Thank you!
