Mi Casa-our favourite home away from home

We have just returned to Canada after our stay at Mi Casa.It was beyond all expectations. We couldn't have picked a better retreat so close to the beach and walking 40 minutes to West Bay.This area of West End is far superior to West Bay or any part of the eastern side of Roatan. We lounged in peace on the huge deck of Mi Casa listening to voices of Central American birds. We shopped in Coxen Hole to provide for cheaper foods and were fortunate to have Robert take us there upon arrival.I held back tears many times as I watched these poor hard working people happy with their simple life styles.Mi Casa is safe;Samantha,Tanja and Robert made our vacation so memorable along with the friendly native Roatan people in the area. Mi Casa is spotless thanks to Gladys-please leave her a good tip. You'll love this place as we did.I've travelled extensively through work and stayed at the Glitz-this beats them all. Dianne

We stayed 3 weeks at Mi Casa and loved it! The house is very comfortable and homey. We really liked the big back porch with 2 hamocks. We took the kitchen table out on the porch for most of our meals. It is located approx 1 1/2 blocks from downtown- west end. Easy access to diving, dining, shopping, etc. The washing machine was a big plus for us. We packed lightly and just washed clothes as we needed. We used the kitchen for about 1/2 our meals. The kitchen had everything you need to cook. My husband was thankful for the coffee maker. I liked the micro-wave to heat up leftovers. The restaurant portions were often large enough to take home leftovers for another meal. In the evenings after a day of diving or sightseeing we enjoyed watching the cable TV or watching a movie from the DVD player. We very much enjoyed our stay at Mi Casa. Thank you!

We just returned from our 6th two week annual visit to Roatan. We've stayed at resorts at West Bay, rentals in Sandy Bay and another rental in West End, and Mi Casa has been our favourite. The house is clean and well stocked with a washing machine and kitchen amenities. We like to make at least some of our meals and there are daily vegetable and seafood vendors on the main drag in West End. One of the benefits for us was being off the beach as my husband has a horrible allergy to sand fleas. Therefore, although there was no view of the water, we were delighted with the large back deck which offers lovely breezes and a nice vista of lush tropical surroundings. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this rental.

My girlfriend and I just spent a week at Mi Casa. We've been back home just a few days and we miss it already. When I stop and think about our vacation and staying at Mi Casa, I think about the air. The air was always nice and the house has just the right balance of breeze and sun and calmness. Our intention for our vacation was to "get away" and enjoy each other and enjoy nature. Mi Casa enabled us to do all of this and more. Its fantastic location served as home base for everything we needed. A typical morning consisted of me getting up with the sun and walking down the dirt road for a solo snorkel. My girlfriend slept in and then made coffee. We'd then watch a little TV or relax in the hammocks and then decide how to spend the rest of our day. Its kitchen enabled us to eat better than we probably do normally at home and for cheap too. It had everything we needed and nothing we didn't. We highly recommend staying here. We will always remember it.

We just spent a week at Mi Casa and loved it! A week wasn't nearly long enough. This was the third time that I've been to Roatan, first at Mi Casa, and from now on I won't stay anywhere else. The house is centrally located in West End with Half Moon Bay, grocery stores, resturants, bars, and dive shops only a few steps away. With a complete kitchen, an open, airy main room, and hammocks on the back porch, the house couldn't feel more comfortable. I have already recommended Mi Casa to several friends. Thank you for the wonderful accommodations, warm welcome, and enjoyable stay!

Mi Casa was a truly glorious place to spend a relaxing week in Roatan and West End. The beautiful house is set back from the main street in West End and is very isolated and quiet (yet is only a two-three minute walk from Half Moon Bay, the good restaurants, dive shops, etc.). The house itself is spacious: the large living area with full kitchen, dining area, and lounge area was great for our slightly larger group. The bedrooms are smaller but have more than adequate fans/ventilation, and the bathroom/shower is great. Also, I'd echo other positive comments about the porches -- huge spaces on the front and back of the house. The front porch has a nice place to rinse of sandy feet and gear, and the back porch has wonderful hammocks and lines for drying out clothes. Also, the windows have metal cages, so windows can be left open at all times without danger of someone breaking in. I would recommend this house to anybody!!

A very nice location in the West End and the house is well appointed, TV, cookware, washing machine(no toaster)decent beds and quiet except for the roosters, but then who sleeps in on Roatan. For those of you that cannot haul five gallons of water, there is a water delivery truck every Wed a.m. that arrives next door and has water for sale. Tania is very helpful for any questions you may have.. I would recommend this rental for any age group..

Mi Casa has a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful setting. The big back deck overlooks the trees and is a great place for bird and lizard watching (and for observing the neighbor's chicken flock!). Plenty of movable fans and ceiling fans to keep the air flowing, well stocked kitchen, comfortable casual furniture. The manager, Tanja, is a great help with any problems or questions. Great location just an easy walk from downtown West End but far enough away to be quiet.

Thank you for a wonderful rental experience. From Robert picking us up and timely return the airport, to Tanja's excellent customer service, to the instant comfort of "Mi Casa" we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The house was a perfect retreat for our needs. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and I was please to see a few well placed provisions like a little olive oil, salt, sugar and spices. We had many meals cooked there, taking the dining table outside on the deck for candle lit dinner post diving was a favorite. The beds, linens and towels were all top notch. I didn't even mind the Rooster Crow Off in the mornings, it was so much more natural then the construction banging we had in Playa Del Carmen last year. Really I can't thank you enough and I'm sure you'll hear from us again in a year or so.
