Location: Oliver, Thompson Okanagan, British Columbia, Canada (10 Minutes North of Osoyoos and 30 Minutes from Penticton)

Accommodations:  House, 5 Bedrooms + Attached Unit, 3 Baths (Sleeps 12)

Located in a wonderfully unique setting only 20 minutes from the US border, 30 minutes from Penticton airport, and 4 1/2 hours from Vancouver. Oliver is in the Sonora Desert, the northern most desert in North America! It's also known as the "Palm Desert of Canada".
There are at least 20 wineries close by.....Tinhorn Creek, Fairview Cellars, Quinta Ferreira, Hester Creek, Gehringer Brothers, Inniskillin, Road 13, Antelope Ridge, Golden Beaver, Silver Sage and Stoneboat are all easily a 5 minute drive! The rest, including Burrowing Owl, Desert Hills, Black Hills, Nk'Mip, See Ya Later Ranch, Noble Ridge, Blue Mountain, Wild Goose, Stag's Hollow, Tangled Vines, Blasted Church and Oliver Twist (there's still more!) are within 10-20 minutes.
Fairview Mountain Golf Club, rated 5th in the province, and Inkameep Canyon Desert Golf Course are under a 5 minute drive. 36 Hole Osoyoos Golf & Country Club, Sonora Dunes (next to award winning Nk'Mip Cellars), Twin Lakes Golf and St. Andrew by the Lake (9 holes) are within 15 minutes, and many more towards Penticton.
The hills and landscapes in the surrounding areas are beautiful, with stunning views. In the evening, enjoy fantastic star gazing & shooting stars after a tasty BBQ on the deck. Play bocce (Italian lawn bowling), horseshoes, badminton or volleyball on the huge expanse of lawn. A gamesroom in the basement with a ping pong and a foosball table is available for our guests enjoyment. There is a 20' x 40' salt water pool with outdoor shower to lounge beside. The pool is heated with solar, so that we can usually heat from April right up until October.
The 5 bedroom house has been completely re-decorated with an eclectic mix of antiques and contemporary decor. Rental rates are from $42 - $75 per person per night, based on 8-12 people. There's a large sun deck, with loads of outdoor furniture, umbrellas and a barbecue. Hiking and biking all around, with just a 3 minute drive, or 15 minute walk to downtown Oliver. We are a working farm, so there are organic apple, cherry, walnut & plum trees along with organic wine and table grapes available for picking during season. You can easily walk next door to buy hot house tomatoes, cucumbers and red peppers from the neighbouring acreage.
We're also located only 45 minutes from Apex Mountain, renowned for consistantly great weather and impressive powder for skiers and snowboarders. The resort also offers easy access to exceptional cross-country and snowshoeing trails. Oliver's own Mt. Baldy Ski Resort, has daily bus departures 3 minutes from our property, at 7:30 am; returning at 4:35 pm, and boasts a new "Sugar Lump Quad Chair" opening in Feb. 2009.
This is an ideal getaway retreat for up to 6 couples, or a singles group, to relax and enjoy a wine or golf tour. Children with responsible adults are welcome.
Available year round for minimum 3 night stays, with weekly only in July and August.

  • A group of Racquetball Ladies went on our annual Whine Tour and stayed at this beautiful, well maintanied and very clean property. It was everything we could have imagined and more! We all had a wonderful time lounging around the great house and pool. There was so much to do at the property that we wished we had of stayed longer. I would highly recommend this property to any of my family or friends and definatley plan on our group staying there again! Thanks for a great weekend!

  • Our second stop on our three week vacation was at Stonehouse Vineyard. Travelling with 2 children and one other couple, it was the perfect place for everyone. With 2 sitting areas(both with TV's), a games room, and salt water pool(with many water toys), the chidren had a great time. For the adults there was a fully stocked kitchen(with every gadget and beautiful dishes) to prepare wonderful meals to go with wine purchased from local wineries. With all the personal touches, we thank you Linda for making our holiday truly memorable.

  • Thanks so much Linda and Joe! Your house was amazing!! We had such a good time! Just incredible... There were 8 of us attending our friend's wedding that weekend and it fit all of us comfortably. We used the BBQ daily, cooked lavish lunches and dinners and turned into prunes in the pool :) Sure beats staying in a motel. LOL You converted all of us to VRBO users.   • This place is amazing.It is beautiful,it is relaxing especially with the salt water pool.It is close to everything with the wineries minutes away from you.If you love golf there is superb golf course 5 minutes from the house.It is a working vineyard and to sit out on the deck and look at the vines with the rolling hills behind is breathtaking.It is large enough to have several couples with plenty of room and privacy,but it is also quite romantic just for two.We would recommend this beautiful place to stay and the price reflects it superb quality.Thank you for allowing us to share your little piece of heaven.

  • What a special spot this is. The whole area feels like the Canadian Napa Valley. Beautiful scenery, fabulous wineries with great wine. Certainly impressed this California resident who is used to very good wine. The house is warm and welcoming, beautifully decorated, the owners obviously have an eye for good taste and style. The setting is idylic with forever views. Highly reccommended and hope to return with more friends this time, as the place is very conducive and comfortable for 4 or 5 couples.

  • I have had the opportunity to stay in this beautiful home on two occasions. Once, with a group of 10 friends wanting a get-a-way, and another time with just my boyfriend. From the moment you open the door you'll feel like you've found a very special place. The Stonehouse family really know how to decorate and haven't skimped on anything. Everything you need, is there for you. The luxurious bedding feels better than in any high-end hotel I've ever stayed in. If it's rest and relaxation you want, this is your place. We went for the wine tours and were pleasantly surprised how close their home is to the wineries. I have booked another weekend in September for a group golf trip and can hardly wait. Three of my co-workers have also been with their families and two of them are going back this summer. I know once you go there, you too will be a repeater!
