Ready for a little peace and quiet? Want to relax, meditate, recuperate, write that novel, read, paint that masterpiece, or just sit and gaze out to sea?
Hale Li'i Maluhia (Little House of Peace) is a beautiful little cabin completed in 2008 by master carpenter and artist Raj Olson. Sitting on a hill catching the gentle breezes, it comfortably accommodates two people for a restful, relaxing stay. Accommodations include a lanai with a view of the ocean, a double bed in the sleeping loft, a kitchen, indoor and outdoor showers, sunken tub with sliding stained glass doors than can be opened to the sun or stars, washer and dryer, and local phone service. There is no television. Internet service is available with your own laptop.
A perfect place for writing, art, meditation, and relaxation, the cabin is also close to many activities including visiting the world's most active volcano, swimming in natural hot ponds, snorkeling in protected tide pools, or sitting on the cliffs above the waves watching for the whales in winter and for dolphins that frequent nearby Kehena black sand beach. Yoga classes, ecstatic dance, healthy dining and use of swimming pool and hot tub are available at the Kalani Retreat Center just next door.
The cabin is located in Kalapana Seaview Estates which is home to a diverse community of people who enjoy the peace and tranquility of rural living in a tropical climate. Seaview is bordered on two sides by land owned by the State of Hawaii and much of the neighborhood has panoramic ocean views.
Conveniently located about half-way between Hilo and Volcano National Park, easy day trips in either direction are possible. A popular viewing point for the flowing lava is only about a half hour from the cabin. You will find the famous farmer's market and many things to see and do in and around the beautiful old Hawaiian town of Hilo. |
