Cartagena Condo Stay

Guest: Jeff (Alexandria, VA )
Date of Stay: 11/06/11 Review Submitted: 12/03/11

I stayed at Property #188185, a charming walled city condo during the first week of November 2011. I visited Cartagena for my birthday, which just happen to coincide with the 200 year anniversary of Cartagena celebrating its independence from Spain. Their independence celebration plus my birthday celebration was a fun time indeed. I'd highly recommend this condo! It is clean, efficient and most importantly, centrally located. As with most private condos I've stayed in before, I didn't expect the Ritz-Carlton. However, this property was clean, well-maintained and had everything we needed. The pictures were indeed accurate. If I could give any honest feedback it would be to update the kitchen utensils/cookware and bedding. The biggest benefit is the condo's central location. It is about a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport and located right in the heart of the walled city. Walk up any street to outdoor restaurants, shops (including a large grocery story), and squares. The beaches are a bit far, but we even walked there one day, which took about 20-25 minutes. A taxi would probably be the best way to get to the beaches of Boca Grande. The owners/associates of the condo were great people to work with. Deb who is state side was professional, friendly and helpful. She was prompt and efficient with all her correspondence. Henry, who is in Cartagena, was a joy to work with as well. He was available 24/7 to assist with the condo, answer any questions, and help with extras like booking tours. They both helped make my vacation one to remember! I'd recommend this property to anyone visiting Cartagena! Jeff Alexandria, VA

Cartagena apartment

We had an excellent week in this apartment in Cartagena in Sept 2011. The place (1 bathroom, 1 bedroom and a sofa bed in the living area) is clean, modern and with air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout. We were met by Steven and Henry on arrival, who manage the apartment in Cartagena, and they were extremely helpful giving advice about the apartment and the city in general. There is a balcony which overlooks a busy street (during the day) which was great for chilling out. It has a fantastic location, right in the middle of the old city meaning we were no more thqan 5 mins walk from all the places of interest and only a 15,000 COP taxi ride from the airport. We though this place was very good value for money and was suitable for children (we had our 19 month old son with us who also had a fantastic time). The owners and managers were very helpful and provided lots of advice which improved our holiday greatly.

Great apartment in Cartagena!

We stayed at this apartment for 2 weeks. The location is amazing. It is right in the middle of the walled city and everything is walking distance. There were some plumbing issues while we were staying there, but the manager and owner were great and fixed everything as soon as possible. It is clean and well looked after!

Great Apartment in Heart of the Old City

Guest: Liz (washington, D.C.)

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely 2BR apartment. The location was amazing, in the heart of the old city. The apartment was spacious and clean and included a washing machine and dryer. It was also very quiet although the noise level outside was very high. It was great value and wonderful for our family of four. Free internet is included.

Great Location to be in Historic Cartagena

We stayed here for 4 nights and that ample length of time. You are close to everything: restaurants, clubs, bars, supermarket, banks, including the only Juan Valdez coffee shop! Glad we picked accommodations in old city than the beach in Boca Grande (less than 10 mins by taxi and 25 mins walking). There's more old world charm than high risers by the waters. Apt has modern amenities. Air Conditioning and Washer/Dryer was a huge plus! Steve was great! Only negative thing I have to say is the bedroom doesn't have any windows so it's very dark. You have the tendency to sleep way past morning and not even realize it.

Lovely accomodations in Historic Cartegena.

We were very pleased with this lovely apartment in the historic walled city of Cartegena. The apartment was quiet, comfortable with attractive finishes and furnishings. It was convientiently located within easy walking distance of restaurants, shopping and the grocery store. We were in Cartegena for a wedding and it was close to the church and all the gatherings we needed to attend as well as the hotels where our other family and friends were staying.

perfect location, great management, quiet

this apartment was perfect because it was right in the heart of the old city, but because the apartment was in the back, it was completely quiet. The location could not have been better, waling to food, grocery, and all the sights. The apartment was very, very bright and sunny from skylights, but no windows. The washer/dryer was an excellent addition. And the property manager was very helpful. I did have some problems with water pressure and hot water in the shower, but I think that was from the city and not an issue with the apartment itself. That was the only drawback. Great value.

convenient to everything, modern furniture, awesome city location!

I stayed here last summer and the location cannot be beat. I've stayed on the beach before but being in the middle of the old city on a small downtown street was in our opinion a better experience. Just blocks from everything you'd want to see and still just a short cab ride over to the beach, this apartment really helped make our week a vacation to remember.

A friend and I stayed at this place for a week and it was perfect. Right in the middle of the old town with supermarkets and banks within walking distance. Walking distance to all the bars, clubs and restaurants. Short cab ride to the beach, San Felipe and other tourist spots or about a 20min walk. Definitely will stay again when returning to Cartagena.
