This property is a comfortable cedar chalet located directly on the edge of one of Winterplace Ski Resort's beginner slopes. It truly has the best access to the slopes anywhere on the mountain. Step off of your deck, put your ski's on and take off. We have ample parking for our guest. We can find a spot for you whether you have 6 people in your group or 22 people in your group (or anywhere in between).
Winterplace offers 27 trails, nine lifts (two quads), a snow tubing park, and round the clock skiing from opening until 10:00 at night (no shut down time). Winterplace is a wonderful family mountain where you can feel comfortable letting your kids come and go. Once you arrive at our chalet you do not have to get in your car and leave unless you just want to.
We are in direct view to the lodge and a chairlift runs directly in front of the chalet. Our chalet is midway up the slope. Stand out on your slope-side deck grilling your chicken or steaks and you will hear moans and groans from the hungry skiers riding up on the chairlift.
You may even get some stopper-bys from the ones coming down the slopes that can't resist! Access to Winterplace is very convenient from Charlotte, Raleigh,Charleston and is located just a couple miles off of interstate 77. Exit 28 is where we are!! We would love to have you stay with us and I look forward to hearing from you. Hopefully you will become family at the "Place 2 Be" and will come back year after year.

Owner Description
I am Melinda Massingale and we live in North Carolina. Winterplace has been our second home since back in the mid 1990's. My husband and I built the first chalet at Winterplace that was used for rental purposes. It was a leap of faith for us because we had no idea if we would be able to find renters, seeing as this was our first real estate venture. We learned quickly how to make it work and be successful at it, making our renters part of us. Initially every three years we did an expansion to our property until we reached what we are today. Even though I don't live in West Virginia, I travel up every week during ski season to make sure things are like they should be. We would love to have you stay with us!!

My family and I used to travel to Winterplace every year for about 5 or 6 years. We started out staying in the condos until they went up on their rates. Then we found these wonderful cabins. We have had the luxury of staying in the first two cabins, top and lower units. They are absolutely wonderful. Top units are great because they are exactly what they say "ski in and ski out''. It was great skiing straight off the slope onto the deck of the cabin. We would literally arrive at the cabin, go grocery shopping and the did not have to get in the car again until time to leave. The top units usually book up very fast so if you want them you need to be booking several months out for your trip. The owners are wonderful and make you feel like a true part of their family just by the decor and atmosphere of each unit. Now that I have a family of my own I will be sure to check on these units first for any avaibities before going anywhere else.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children.
