  My family of 12 had a fantastic vacation at this house. Any time I emailed the owner with a question the response was timely. The caretaker was very helpful. We were all comfortable and relaxed in this home and being able to bring our family pet made it even more special. I would highly recommend this home for a wonderful vacation.

  This house is great! Super location and walking to the beach is a breeze. No streets to cross, just go through the parking lot and you are there. Heated indoor pool and workout room is right at your side door, along with playground area for kids. Close enough to walk to restaurants, shopping, bike rentals, duck trail, etc. Website does not even describe how wonderful the layout is of this house. Plenty of room with private baths for nearly everyone. Great sitting areas and dining room large enough to accomodate a Thanksgiving meal (we had turkey and all the trimmings while there in February). We found the kitchen well equipped with 2 dishwashers and plenty of silverware and place settings. Working gas fireplaces were a huge hit with our dog on the chilly evenings. Had quite a few steps, but would expect that with a 4 level home. Awesome grass in the back yard made taking the dog out a breeze and no burrs to pick out of their feet! Well kept home that we found exceptionally clean and great local caretaker that responded quickly when we needed him. Owner was super responsive and very nice to deal with. We are already working to book next year's vacation at this same house! Bottom line - if this house will accomodate your group and is available, stop your search and book it now!!

  I had a wonderful experience staying at "Can't Take it With You" and will return the first chance I get! The house easily hosted seven of my best girl friends for our week reunion - we were so comfortable and cozy and could retreat to our own bedrooms (with our own bathroom – which was both perfect and private and made getting ready, as a group, a snap!) when we were all talked out. The common living area, dining area, and kitchen were well-equipped and spacious...and above all, comfortable and well-decorated. We did not lack anything. The large dining table made sit down dinners possible, while the 4th floor lookout was inviting for coffee in the morning. The main living area made relaxing, and conversations lasting late into the evening, possible. The house was also very quiet and well laid out for privacy due to its spacious set-up and great floor plans. Someone could easily go to bed early or sleep in late and not be disturbed by the goings-and-comings of others in the house. The hot tub was a hit, as was the indoor swimming pool only steps away...and the beach was so close...just steps beyond the indoor swimming pool and fitness center - long strolls in December are certainly possible! I loved every minute at Can't Take it With You and I will certainly be back to Duck and plan on staying here again. Thank you, to the home owners and property manager, for such attention to detail – I loved my stay!

  I joined several friends friends from around the country at this vacation home in OBX for a long weekend. We had a great time. It is a very spacious rental home. The common rooms were large enough for all of us to hang out together comfortably. There are also many small areas in the house to spend some alone time reading or enjoying the views. The widows nook had great views of the ocean. The 7 or 8 bedrooms were spacious with private bathrooms. The kitchen was large-with 2 dishwashers (how great is that)! The kitchen was well stocked with items-the owners have thought of everything you may need. There are multiple balconies to hang out on. The house is walking distance to the small local shops & minutes from the larger chain stores. This house is right next to the common indoor pool, gym & playground which made it very convenient to work out. This house has it's own outdoor pool with slide, large hot tub & sand volleyball area. It was a bit chilly during our visit but perfect weather for sipping wine in the hot tub with a great group a friends. The boardwalk & ocean are only steps away. I would highly recommend vacationing at this house!

  Stayed here during the off season with some girlfriends for some r&r and time together. This house suited our needs perfectly! Plenty of bedrooms and room to spread out, yet the living room and dining room on the 3rd floor were perfect for hanging out together! The beach is just down the street (only 2 houses away, I think). And the little rec center and heated indoor pool next door are fabulous. Had my toddler with me and this house was perfect for her - stairs to climb, rooms to explore and the park next door were nice, and of course the beach! Would highly recommend this house for family and friends alike!

  This house is truly that - home away from home! The interior is so comfortably decorated you feel like your in your own personal space, and the bedrooms each have their own baths so even if you are with multiple families, you still have space to call your own. The house is close to a nice indoor pool in addition to the outdoor one, so even visiting in the NC winter you get all the amenities! It was great to have a hot tub, too! The beach in this area was unlike ones I've visited before, beautiful sand, unusual shells, and really very private. The area itself is very personal and homey. Will definitely return!!

  My girlfriends and I had a girl's reunion at the OBX and stayed at Can't Take It With You. It was wonderful! There were 7 of us and we each had our own bedroom and bathroom. It was very comfortable. We loved the large living room with sectional. We were all able to comfortably be in the same room chatting away. The large dining room table was great and we were all able to eat together. In the mornings, the coffee drinkers would gather in the "widow's watch" and look out over the ocean and enjoy the mornings. Even though it was December, we were still able to go swimming at the indoor pool at the clubhouse next door to the beachhouse. The was so convenient! :) The beachhouse had a large hot tub which we enjoyed and the boardwalk to the beach was next door. It was a fabulous place to stay and we are hoping to get together again in a couple of years. When we do, we will definitely stay at this beachhouse again.

  Went down with friends and family to celebrate my 30th birthday and had an amazing time! Although the weather was colder than anticipated due to Superstorm Sandy, the house had enough to keep us busy with puzzles, games, tvs and pool table, not to mention the hot tub and the street was close to everything and easily walkable into downtown Duck and to the beach so we were thoroughly entertained. Nick was helpful when needed and the house was large and comfortable. We are already talking about what date to come back next year!

  This home suited our needs perfectly. It was very clean, photos accurate. Nick was extremely handy when the sink was clogged and had it fixed asap. Definitely recommend this home for its location, size, and amenities. The indoor heated pool next door was great. Would recommend this home for large family get-togethers.

  Our family had a wonderful time at the beach. The house was conveniently located to the beach, the shops and the clubhouse. The kids could easily walk or ride their bikes for ice cream and shopping. Pool w/slide and Hot Tub were wonderful. Caretaker Nick was extremely helpful when contacted. The kitchen could use some updating (a new range was delivered while we were there) and overall house could use some TLC. With that said, it was very comfortable and it fit our needs nicely. I wouldn't hesitate to return.
