Island Vacation Hale
Our Island Hale is located on a quiet, Kamaaina street in one of Kailua’s finest neighborhoods. With its own gated private entrance, our tropical Hale provides a tranquil garden area to barbeque or sit back and relax at the end of your day in the sun.
Decorated with an Hawaiiana island flair, our studio suite includes a comfortable four-poster double bed, sitting area, closet and kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, and hotplate.
From our studio suite, walk only one block to Kailua Bay and enjoy the ocean…swim, snorkel, surf, scuba dive, kayak, or read a good book! Whatever your ocean pleasure, Kailua Beach is the place to enjoy your tropical vacation…away from the crowds.
The town of Kailua is only a 20-minute drive from the hustle and bustle of downtown Honolulu, but it may as well be a world away. First and foremost a beach town, Kailua town also offers fun shops and great restaurants. But most of all, it is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy island life away from the crowds.

Why the Owner Chose Kailua
Our vacation rental in located on the same property as our home. We built the vacation rental in 2003 so friends and family would have a nice, private, and comfortable place to stay when they visited.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
Our vacation rental is a short walk to the ocean, a 5 minute drive to Kailua Beach, a 5-7 minute drive to Kailua shopping district. Public transportation is 3 blocks away (we use it often to get around). Enjoy taking a morning walk to Kailua Bay or Kailua Beach; watch the sunrise while sipping your morning coffee!
Owner's Map of Kailua
My husband and I grew up in the midwest, but we LOVE the ocean. We have lived in Hawaii for over 25 years. We found Kailua to be a wonderful place to raise our children and enjoy the ocean. We love the privacy of our neighborhood, yet it has easy access to Kailua Bay. Our kids learned to surf and paddle from our neighborhood's own ocean access! FUN IN THE SUN!!

We stayed in Jill's studio the nights of November 27th and 28th, we loved it. The studio was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the small kitchen area had everything we needed (including coffee)! The bathroom was clean and the shower was great! The separate entrance/garden area was very private and relaxing, and we made good use of the boogie boards! The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe, with a really convenient parking space. Jill left us several pamphlets about nearby restaurants and activities, and a detailed description of nearby beaches! Both of the little beaches within walking distance were great and there was lots of great shopping and food nearby as well. We had great meals at Big City Diner and Cinnamon's (but steer clear of Pinky's Pupu Bar and Grill). Kailua Beach park was a lot of fun and the Kalapawai Market was a great pit stop! I'd recommend this studio to anyone thinking about staying in Kailua! Thank you so much, Jill!
Owner response:Aloha Tasia, We are extremely happy you enjoyed your stay!! We appreciate your kind review and hope to see you again when you return to Kailua. Mahalo! Jill

I stayed here for several days while I looked for a permanent residence. The Welcome Packet that was e-mailed to me had a lot of useful information and great directions from the airport. I loved the private yard area where I spent many relaxing nights. The decor was very tropical, the linens were clean, and the entire place was immaculate. If I ever had any questions, Jill always responded quickly. When I needed to stay a few extra nights, Jill was very accomodating and helpful. There was a quiet beach within walking distance and the grocery store was just down the street. This is a great place and such a steal!

My husband and I stayed in the Island Hale for a week while visiting my family who live a short ways away. Kailua in general is a beautiful, quiet town and this neighborhood was no exception. The room is attached to the house of the owners but everything was very private. It was also very clean, very cute and just the right size for a married couple who were planning to spend much of the day out but who wanted a quiet place to relax and take a break from family. It is a few blocks to a small local shopping center with coffee shop, groceries, plate lunch, etc., and a short drive (10-15 min) to Kailua town and Kaneohe where there are additional stores and restaurants. We found it easy to get to the highway, but a map would be a good investment for any visitor. While it would be possible to stay here without a car, I think it would be inconvenient and time-consuming to rely solely on the bus to get around, and as there is driveway parking provided with the rental there is no reason not to get a car. Of the two nearby beaches, one is very beautiful but too rocky to be at all swimmable, and the other is quite small but potentially swimmable. However, we elected to drive to nearby Lanikai for the majority of our swimming, as this is one of my favorite beaches. I would recommend this rental to any couple looking for a peaceful home base as they explore Oahu.
